Feng Shui Manhattan and Long Island is teaming up with Loving Hands non-for profit charity group. On Monday June 10th at the East Meadow Library Laura Cerrano will be presenting a FREE Feng Shui lecture for one hour.

The lecture includes understanding the deeper insights of this ancient art form through self awareness and healing methods that utilize Feng Shui and Ascension teachings. You will leave knowing there is more to Feng Shui then just the placement of colors and objects. Everything in your home mirrors who you are and when mindfully placed they can help you visually keep you on path to achieving the goals you set for yourself in life.

Ms. Cerrano will discuss how to enhance your personal and buisness relationships, manifest more wealth, and better health as some main topics of foucus. Light refreshments will be given out followed by Question and Answers. One lucky attendee will also win a Feng Shui gift!

We also work with Real Estate Agents to give them the “edge” they need with their clients. In today’s Real Estate market, including a home Feng Shui assessment along with the other required services is becoming more common and requested by clients and Real Estate agents across the Nation.

For those who are seeking a New York City apartment or Long Island home, Ms. Cerrano can also attend open houses with you to perform a Feng Shui assessment on the spot or you can schedule a private meeting with the current homeowner, your agent and her to truly grasp a deeper reading of that space. *This process is strongly recommended* Please let Laura know if you wish her to attend all locations to assess or certain ones.

First: An on site interview is provided to help gain an understanding about the history of that space and previous occupants. Ms. Cerrano would also like understand the key intentions for why you are seeking to live or work in that given location.

Second: Laura will due a walk through of the entire space as to read the energy and use the Ba-gua to assess the flow of energy. She will also point out any major areas of “Feng Shui” concern, if any.

Third: Once the onsite assessment has been completed, you will receive a 3-9 page assessment summary recapping all major areas of your potential new home or business to be mindful of.

Everyone does an activity or hobby that inspires and rejuvenates one's energy and connection to un-conditional love. For me, I have many things, one is by creating small gardens and sanctuaries thoughout my backyard. Last year, I planted these flowers not knowing how it would turn out and here I have a beautiful surprise that have been blossoming.

I just created a small Zen Garden which I love and I am excited for the flowers and plants to start blooming. :)

I also make time to enjoy Kayaking with friends, rain or shine :)

9. Walking into a lisitng and being able to tell the sellers that you are certain that you have a buyer that may be interested... then they are. LOVE THAT TOO!

8. Getting the phone call from a friend or past client asking you to list their recently deceased parent's home for them. To earn that kind trust is humbling.

7. Getting to know the city of Fort Wayne so well. Amanda and I have lived here for over 12 years, but have really gotten to know the city since we became Realtors and have driven down just about every street there is!

6. Getting recognized in public because of our social media presence and marketing efforts. This does not apply when I am in my flip flops and sleeveless shirt at the grocery store.

5. Getting recognition from peers. We don't necessarily need it, but it's nice.

4. Winning awards. See #5.

3. Working with people from all walks of life. We have helped plumbers, attorneys, doctors, surgeons, factory workers, self employed landscapers, teachers, etc. It's fun to work and connect with so many different kinds of people!

2. Closings. Watching our home owners so excited about buying! Watching our sellers so happy that it's over. Plus free pens. Wait. I mentioned that already.

And my #1 reason that I love being a Realtor...

Working from home and fielding calls from clients while I'm in my underwear.

Feng Shui Fitness: Lifting Objects the Proper way with Squats

During my Personal Training Fitness evaluation with clients one of the questions I ask is How do you sit down and get up from your chair or pick items from the ground followed with please demonstrate that movement for me. About 90% of them will demonstrate the improper form which has lead to the wearing down of their joints = pain. One of the first steps to assuring you are protecting your joints is by performing corrective exercises and movements. Negative habits have lead to injury but for many, becoming aware of those habits and making the proper adjustments, strengthening weakened muscles will create balance that can make a world of difference.

The movement of "squatting" is something we do every single day. Getting out of bed, sitting in a chair, sitting on the toilet, bending down to pick things up off the ground, lifting things to put on a shelf and the list goes on.

How to perform a squat:

Standing with your feet hip-distance apart, tighten up your core (abs) which will protect your back muscles. Next, shift your weight into your heels while still keeping your abs engaged. When you do this, you will feel your hips tilt in a little bit because they are staying tight, which is what you want. Bend you knees slowly and lower into a squat position. As you sink down, be extremely mindful that your knees never go past your toes. Why? because when this happens (as many of my clients have done for years) it puts all your body weight onto your knee joint vs allowing your leg muscles to take the brunt of it. Allow yourself to squat to the range of motion you feel comfortable, ideally you want to get to at least a 90 degree angle with your legs. Still having the pressure on your heels as you sink down also push up with your heels. you have now performed the proper squat.

If you are doing them wrong:

Your lower back feels strained. You should feel resistance in your glutes (butt muscles), quads and thighs.

this is a motion we do everyday and is worth your time and your body's well-being to understand the proper formation of a squat. Your knees and back will be forever thankful.

Being Triumphant and Saying Goodbye

Many years ago I was privileged to hear a speaker who made an impact on me. Ann Kaiser Sterns is the author of Coming Back: Rebuilding Lives after Crisis and Loss. She worked with a large group of people who had been through tragedies ranging from death, divorce, and illness. Each one went through their horrible event, grieved, mourned, and experienced all the other emotions of a devastating situation. And each had a personal outcome that Sterns used to sort them into three separate groups.

The first group went through the tragedy and never got back to where they were in life..they could not move forward.

The second group did get back to where they were before the tragedy and moved along with a relatively normal life.

It was the third group that not only got through the tragedy, and came back to where they were before, but they then went on to use the situation as a spring board. These are the ones she calls the Triumphant Survivors. The best example...the two women who started MADD. They are triumphant survivors!

We have to learn how to say goodbye, how to put closure to things in our lives.

I have found in my careers of nursing, art, and real estate that, when speaking to people in a depression, almost always there was some kind of tragedy that happened 18 months to 2 years prior.

Moving may not be a disaster, but it is a major life change. Saying "Goodbye" and putting closure is also important in real estate. I have written about saying goodbye to your house and helping children say goodbye to their home.

During my counseling sessions with real estate clients, I share how to say good bye to the home they are selling. There are good memories and some not so good but they need to be acknowledged as they go from room to room.

Maybe some of the depressive situations, my clients deal with, have been lessened by my bit of counseling.

There is more to Feng Shui then just Decorating Your Home

"Tell me more about how to decorate my home with Feng Shui. What colors and objects are best?"

You have to remember Feng Shui starts with the thoughts you manifest inside your mind along with the actions you take which follow the path of your thoughts. The colors, textures, objects, artwork that you read in articles, blog posts and on YouTube are meant to be very general and help introduce you to the methods and remedies of Feng Shui one can use at home.

In order to customize the suggestions to your unique situations when decorating your home, a Certified Feng Shui consultant must first understand the history of that space (home), the history of you (the life path you have been walking so far), along with your current and future intentions (goals). By gathering all those key insights and hearing your story, your consultant will then be able to offer specific decorating suggestions to help mirror your intentions for self with colors, textures, artwork and objects placed throughout your home.

Universal Feng Shui Cure:

It's suggested to place a plant above the toilet or at least near that area to help offset excess drain energy given off by that bathroom appliance. This is a Black Sect cure in Feng Shui. The toilet energy drains down and the plant grow upward so when the plant is placed near that area of helps naturalize the drain energy.

Let's say a client is looking to travel aboard to South America, Brazil. A universal Feng Shui Cure would be to place a globe or map in the "travel" area of that home or maybe in the living room (perhaps behind the couch) or in the office behind the desk. Again for every person the placement will vary. If you have a specific location you wish to travel, you can mirror that energy by displaying items from that location, in this case its Brazil. Maybe it's a flag, sculpture, musical instruments, photos Brazil's landscape, colors that resemble Brazil, etc. You are focusing your energy to manifest that trip while at the same time taking action. For example, working to save money. yes you have bills and such but you can simply take $10-$20 or more out of that paycheck, put it aside and thus start your process of saving. You also become mindful of how you budget and what you are spending your money on to help reach that goal. Do you really need that new pair of shoes? do you really need to go out and eat 3x a week? Set your goal and prioritize.

Again, you will have "universal" Feng Shui cures/suggestion" and ones that will have to be customized to meet the unique needs of that client's life path. It will come down to what works for you and what you resonate with.

Feng Shui Advice: Pushing Your Agenda onto others, rethink that action

We all have a life agenda, which means a purpose to achieve during this life time. But how many of us actually stick to our personal life path agenda? Not many. The reason is because we are allowing others to project their agendas onto us due to fears they have within.

How many times do you hear family members, friends, possibly your clients and co-workers push their agenda onto you? examples of projected agendas can be, You know you cant wait too long to have children. Why don't you get a real job? and the list goes on and on.

Remember life is about choices, choose to drum to your own beat, not the beat society or others try to project onto you. We all have a life purpose. Part of the fun is discovering what that is.

Always remain in your personal power. Be Authentic.

It goes against Universal law, pushing your agenda onto another. Of course share your insights and thoughts but when your actions become that of a manipulative nature and guilt are used to try and cost another person into to doing only what you want vs it being a collaborative balanced interaction. This is a tall tail sign you are pushing your agenda onto another.

Perhaps you are on the other side and you have family, friends etc telling you, "you need to do this, you need to have that..." This is them projecting their agenda onto you.

Always remain in your personal power. Be Authentic.

Please be considerate of your and Ms. Cerrano’s time. If you need to reschedule an appointment please allow 48-24 hours notice in advance. Same day consultations will have an additional small fee due to last minute scheduling. If you cancel 2 times and request to reschedule a third time, a deposit is required (this is none refundable).
