Central Park and New York City.....Beautiful Every Time!

I swore I was going back to the City today with the weather predicted to be 72 and sunny but think I need to spend a day home.  I wanted to go to the Village today (with Soho thrown in :) but it might have to wait.  I did have the opportunity to go last Sunday, there wasn't a cloud in the sky (literally) and so many people out it felt like Christmas time.

I walked up to the park as usual from Penn Station and got so caught up in looking up, I forgot in Manhattan you have to remember to look DOWN as well.  A broken sidewalk and I went down...hard :)  One person almost stopped to see if I needed help....or rather I heard someone say "Oh my goodness, are you OK?" as they kept walking.  One of the things that makes me smile about The city, believe it or not!

I hobbled through the rest of the day and ran into some of my favorite things and thought I'd share them with you....the Native New Yorkers who don't get to the city as much as you'd like now.  I hope you enjoy them....

New York City Feng Shui ConsultantThe BEST time of year, when everything is starting to bloom!

Feng Shui Long Island, New York City consultantI always stop and wait for this (which can be really annoying to other people you are with!). It is the George Delacourt Musical Clock close to the Zoo in Central Park.  It has six bronze mechanical animals, all "playing" a musical instrument and can play any one of 32 Nursery Rymes.  The animals rotate the clock on the hour and half hour.

Feng Shui Long Island ConsultantA good time to pass.   This is the Russian Philharmonic playing at Carnegie Center outside for a photo shoot :)

Carole Provenzale, Feng Shui Consultant New YorkLiterally not a cloud.  This is why I spend so much time looking UP!

New York City Feng ShuiThe lonely Sax player.  Compared to the Naked Cowboy (who I am not showing so as not to offend anyone), no one lines up to hear this man and very people people left tips.  I had to think he played because he loved it, not for the money.

If you haven't thought about a get away to the City, it's the perfect time!

Central Park is beautiful, and the Village is always fun - but what about Eisenhower Park?   How about Main Street in Northport?

Northport Harbor is absolutly beautiful, and they have an amazing Village feel along Mainstreet,

Lola, thank you, I will share more when I get down to Soho and the village....

Pete, thank you for the site, I thought I knew all the Long Island sites but I'll go on and register!  I love Old Westbury Gardens, Jones Beach (who doesn't like Jones Beach??) and the Nautical Mile in Freeport is always nice, day or night.  But on your recommendation I will head to Northport (I DO always hear how nice that town is) and if you have any other recommendations, let me know!!

John, thanks, I hope you enjoyed them!

Carole-you made me smile and want to book a flight to New York immediately. You wrote so beautifully about the things you enjoyed on your day out, and they are precisely the same things I would take delight in. I remember a similar clock (though I think less elaborate) at the zoo in Washington D.C , and I , too, would wait to be nearby on the hour. I have never lived in NY but have always enjoyed visiting. Your day seemed so very special. The photographs are endearing.
