I came home today from an unusually long ride out East on Long Island, New York. I had gone to a consultation and haven't been out there in SO long, I had forgotten how beautiful it is. How wonderful it is to see wide open spaces, our own little version of "Napa Valley" with all the little vineyards and deer. (I do have a point here, honestly).
About a month ago I was contacted by a Real Estate Agent who found me from AR. She had taken Suzee Miller's course on Feng Shui, an online course which is quite expensive. She has her own house on the market, had made all the suggestions and it hasn't sold. She was wondering if I could share any insights.
I told her I would be happy to look at it and she emailed me some pictures. The house is lovely and while speaking with her about it, I asked her if she had done the Blessings we consider so important. She hadn't, and didn't know about them as they are not included with the course.
These are Transcendental Blessings and I feel they are essential to change the energy in a space and get things moving. After an exchange of Red Envelopes (a Black Sect tradition to pass on these blessings), I was able to send them to her. I wish I could say she sold her house, but to date it hasn't sold. I suggested she could do the blessings at her listings as well. I also suggested a few changes she make in her own home.
She called me last night to let me know that in less then two weeks, one of her listings sold. And in the last two weeks she had gotten three new listings! I think I was as happy as she was.
After that long but lovely ride today, I came home to a package. After letting out the dog, checking my messages and doing many other things to get to when you've been gone all day, I finally got to the package. This lovely Agent had been thinking of me and sent me a lovely gift. I thought of how wonderful it is to work with her and of the other WONDERFUL people I have met and spoken to through this incredible site. They all go up in my "Helpful People"section and to that I've just added ActiveRain, which brought some pretty good energy into MY life! Thank you!

Sometimes I am not sure that everyone knows or understands about the principles of Feng Shui. I have been interested in it for many years now (check out the 'library' of Lillian Too books in my house!), but every time that I started reading a book in order to learn more, I became more confused!
Thankfully I met you through Active Rain and, besides your being a wonderful supporter of Home Staging and encouraging me to 'push past the boundaries' within my own business, you have helped me to understand the fundamentals of Feng Shui.
For anyone out there who might think that this age-old principle is just a passing fad or something totally "New Age", I want to tell you that it WORKS! If you have read "The Secret", or believe in Positive Thinking, or just have 'faith', those are the fundamentals of Feng Shui...that you have the power to attract blessings into your life.
Carole has a lot to offer all of us here on AR....we can all learn so much from her! She has been a Certified Master Feng Shui Consultant (did I get that designation right Carole?) for more than 10 years and has tons of success stories! She is a pleasure to know and a delightful human being!

Hi, Midori, I personally haven't seen the course but the Realtor indicated it was NOT primarily about Feng Shui, it was Marketing. Which is what I've heard the schools have turned into for new students. I went so long ago it was ALL Feng Shui and I'm sure we learned many more principles but were left to figure out our own marketing. And there's a handful of us left :) I question the course because I have SEEN more things happen after the blessings then I would have EVER imagined and if they're not included, I would tend to believe the Agent is right.

Hi Dena, You are not "Just" a realtor, that's HARDwork!! You're also the person on AR with my motto :) There are "online" courses given by some consultants especially for Real Estate agents. We (Feng Shui Consultants) have been working for years with Realtors to help attract listings and get homes sold. I have heard that the online courses teach you about "Marketing" aspects but don't really help you with Feng Shui and they don't provide the essential blessings you need. I work now with two agents from AR who are having wonderful results. Some of the courses cost $1,000 which in my opinion is a lot of money. And you can't get Energy and all the principles of Feng Shui online. I am putting together something for any agents that may be listed to truly LEARN Feng Shui, how to apply it to their homes and businesses and also to their listings. On the phone, the way I do consultations for those at a distance. This way Agents will know (with the diversity of the market) what prospective buyers are looking for in a home and NOT looking for and it will give them confidence to work with someone that knows and understands the principles. If I didn't explain this well, you're always welcome to call me! And I'm keeping it green here :)
Ines, Thank you so much for your comment and I am very glad to see you've used Feng Shui and had good success with it. I'm sorry that more people don't take advantage of it! You would be my dream architect, you're exactly right, when I conveyed the look I was trying to achieve and finally saw it on paper I couldn't believe it! He read up on Feng Shui so he did have an understanding of it and created something I only had in my head!! We're hoping for approval and zoning to go through. Thank you again for your comment.

A belated welcome to our group and thanks for your post. I don't think I fully grasp the Feng Shui concept and the Transcendental Blessing's but obviously there are those here that do. Come to think of it maybe a few of these blessings would help things along in my neck of the woods. Maybe I can Google this and learn a little more. Again, welcome and best wishes.
