A New York Feng Shui Consultant-And Some FAME
A huge principle in Feng Shui is simply "Get your NAME out to the Universe." Something we do all the time now on websites, blogs, and the business cards and market materials we give out.
We also address the area of FAME which is also our REPUTATION at home and our offices. We can do it with the INTENTION of getting our name "out there" and it's an important area to address.
The area of Fame means: How you are known to the world and how you would LIKE to be KNOWN. The color that ignites Fame is the element of FIRE, RED. If we're doing a retail space it would be a good place to put our licenses there but also think about how you would LIKE to be known. As a wonderful father, mother, wife are also ways many of us are known.
The Black Sect form of Feng Shui teaches us that Feng Shui is this: 80% INTENTION and only 20% of the actual physical changes we make. Sounds rather like The Secret, doesn't it? And what many of us have come to believe, THE LAW OF ATTRACTION.
Energy is more powerful then most people believe. They chalk it up to co-incidence. I do not believe in coincidences or accidents...things happen for a reason. In the past week I have emailed three former clients that I haven't heard from in a while-just on my mind and "checking in."
Every SINGLE one of them wrote back that they were either about to call or email ME, that I had been on THEIR mind as well. No, I don't believe in coincidences.
How do we address Fame and where is it? Stand in the front of your home, office or business....it is located in the back center of your home. Your NAME should go in this area surrounded by RED---you could choose a red frame or border. Just putting your name up won't do much-unless you put your thoughts and Energy up that you REALLY want to get your name OUT THERE.

Time to review your home....a quick Feng Shui Tip from a New York Feng Shui Consultant that just might help you more then you thought possible.

Carole... this is very interesting and I like your approach in regards to fame. My reputation to me is a biggie... and I agree, things happen for a reason.
I hadn't thought of it, but in my cafe the licenses were there in the place of 'fame' - must have been instinctive. Great reminder to do something mindful about that spot in my home now. It really is to a large degree, intention...
...to be known
Carole, I have a reddish fence in the back center. Does that count? Do I need to stencil world's greatest Realtor? I like that you don't believe in coincidences either. I used to but know more. Too many weird things have happened to me along the way that were not chance.
Carole I think you have inspired me. I know this works so why aam I staying stuck again? Hmm
I love your nuggets of gold Carole - you're so inspiring with your ideas....if you're looking at your backwall from the front door.........and the downstairs back wall is the bathroom......and the upstairs back wall is a hall wall.......whichwould you feature in red..........or just put a photo with a red matt in the background?
Wow. My office in my home is in the back center. (Coincidence?) The walls are colorless (couldn't decide, so kept it eggshell) but now I'm rethinking a pretty shade of red for the back wall.
Carole, you are a wealth of inspiration!
Carole, I always love reading your posts. Thank you so much for sharing. This area is the kitchen in my home. I have an old name plate there but it is not red nor surrounded by red. I will figure out how to make that change today.
Carole--This is interesting...Wonder if that is why so many real estate companies choose red as a main background color...Hmmm. You always get me thinking! :)
My favorite color is red. What does that say about me? LOL I wear a lot of red, and use a lot of red when decorating. I always thought red was the color of aggression/assertion. I always learn something new when I read your posts.
You and I could probably spend hours discussing color interpretation. And that could be a fun thing!
Carole, Another interesting post. My kitchen is in the back center, and it's green & yellow. BUT, I have a red dogwood tree right in the back center of the yard. Does that count? Of course it doesn't have my name on it?
Maybe you should charge us all a small fee for a tip from a picture or two? That could be your FAME thing!
have a great weekend.
good morning Carole,
I simply love reading your posts...I always take away either great inspiration or something I can use in my day to day life. I'm having trouble figuring out the front of my living place in the townhouse I'm moving to though....I think I'll draw a sketch and get you to help me on this. If it's a corner unit, do you think it would be where the driveway and garage are (where I will be entering the house as there is an inside entry from the garage) or do you think it would be where the outside door is facing the street (does not face the same road as the garage door).
thanks for your help on this,
Jo
Hi Carole - I had to laugh when I saw where that area landed in my home -- it was in the kitchen -- a place I love to create in -- I am going to have to take your advice and put my name and intentions in that area.
Carole - thanks for the very excellent suggestion and I will do it. I too am a firm believer in the law of attraction. I enjoy reading your posts and learning more about feng shui.
Carole
I rather like this Feng Shui principle.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz
Carole when I saw this line "A huge principle in Feng Shui is simply "Get your NAME out to the Universe." I have done this without even knowing it was a feng shui principle. I have read THE SECRET and live my life in that manner. No wonder Im so intrigued with feng shui
Carole - I just love how every time I read one of your posts I learn something new and amazing. My office is in the back of my house in the kitchen and the back center would be right over my back door. Given what you've outlined, my name surrounded by red will be the last thing I see as I walk out the door each day. Now that's why I call starrting the day with some positive energy!
Carole, is that why it's good to have a red front door?
Carole - more great advice, and this time I think I am actually in luck and this is located in my RED breakfast area!
Jeff, Feng Shui says exactly that...to get your name out. It always made sense to me and we can remember to do it with Intention.
Deborah, It's not frequently mentioned in Feng Shui but it's an important principle....and has it's very own place in the Bagua.
Gary, You want to find a creative way to actually put your NAME on it (and you can always add World's Greatest Realtor." Kinda red? Hmmmm....we like to light out Reputations on FIRE :)
Gayle, This is way too easy to get stuck on--I put up something really simple so people would TRY it!
Liz, What do you see in the back center when you walk in? Or does it just go up and down? I would adress it from the floor where the kitchen is (nourishment) and it should have your NAME, not a picute here. How about calligraphy?
Kris, Good place, now you need to add RED and your name. How about your Realtors License in a RED frame? And any recognitions, awards? It's the exact area it should be in!
Melody, Good spot as well, kitchens nourish :) Get creative with it and have fun...I have a red framed watercolor from Chinatown...so cute :)
Teri, People think about this with Logos in Feng Shui---Targets is a good example of a good Feng Shui Logo (something we advise business owners on if they wish).
Carol, In Feng Shui fire is Energy and Passion--and that's RED. And seems to describe you pretty well :) We are told to wear red on "low energy" days as it will help provide it.
Linda, Come back and post a picture....I'd love to see it and it would probably interest others! I love Feng Shui and I love to see photos so go right ahead....anytime. The tree counts! You can get a small stake in the ground with your name, tie a red ribbon around it-red windchime...Lots of things you can do with it!
Jo, Can you get into your townhouse from the Front Door? Take some photos and send them on over before I answer you....
Joan, The kitchen is a good place (read above :) Good, I'm glad you're going to try it....consider it your homework :)
Sharon, Thank you, I love when people will at least try things. I over simplify hoping they will! Report back any successes after you're done.
Tom, Thank you...I actually like them all. They just make sense!
Fernando, It's kind of sad that Feng Shui principles run on The Secret and the Law of Attraction and many people didn't know it. We use the word Intention, they use Attraction (same thing :)
Donna, It fits very well in your case and you can certainly leave by the back door but I've very strict on doors---come in by the FRONT door! It's important.
Patricia, The Front Door in Feng Shui is called "The Mouth of Chi" -- It's where all the good, new energy ENTERS. And it's in your Career area. We paint them red to help attract even more energy. This is oversimplified but I hope you get the idea. (Some people also paint the Front Door black, which is the Accent Color for Career).
Chris, Wonderful!! Perfect choice of color...now get your name up however you'd like to do it!
You know it is so funny that you should mention about contacting previous clients and finding out that they were planning to call you. That happens to me ALL THE TIME! I will wake up with someone on my heart...and without fail...they will contact me that day. Many times...it has been a very long time since I have heard from them. I think that some people are more intune with the spiritual world...that all of us are spiritual beings who are capable of tuning in to the spiritual realm. We just often choose not to do so. GBU, my precious friend!!
The middle of the back of my house is the kitchen...I can definately work with that. I have a few red accents in there!
Hi Carole...Another Great post on Feng Shui...this one to help us with FAME, I'll need to think this one over our guest beedroom is upstairs in the center of our home.
Cheers, thanks for sharing!
Hi Carole, You always share such interesting and thought provoking blogs. God bless,
Very cool - I also believe that everything happens for a reason (Stephanie taught me this : ) ) . Energy is mysterious and amazing... this is a very cool post about fame and what each of us wants to be known for. Red is a great color and I can see why there is correlation there between the two ! ~ Chris
Elizabeth, I believe it is pure energy. Energy travels anywhere it's directed and when you're thinking of someone it's more then likely that they're thinking of you as well! It does happen to me all the time as well--I love it, it's a true connection. GBU always!
Joan, It's an intentional way to get your NAME out--and your REPUTATION. Yours are sterling so use it!
Fred, Thank you, this is one to get creative with....something that blends but addresses both RED and YOUR NAME.
Cheryl, Thank you! I hope people try them, although they are simple they are effective.
Chris, Stepanie is good at this I'm sure! And I'm glad you'll put it to use, you do want to "light up" your name--and your reputation!
Carole - My assistant looks at me a little cross-eyed when I say we need to raise the energy level in the office, but thoughts are so powerful, and red is a very energetic force.
Hi Carole - That is very interesting info. I don't believe in coincidences either.
Carole - Nothing happens in isolation ... for every action there is a reaction ... coincidences are a result of someone taking action its force behind that action that drives us.
Norma, I'm not surprised. Some people just don't understand ENERGY yet....they will soon I believe.
Chastity, I don't believe I ever did believe in them although many people do...it happens WAY too often!
Kathy, You're right, there is scientific evaluations of the pure force of Energy. It is all around us and people that hadn't realized it previously are beginning to really understand it.
I love the idea of enhancing the FAME with the NAME in the Red FRAME - I think I will utilize that in some way - and very soon!
In more times than I can remember I have called someone that was on my mind at the very same time that they were calling me LOL - no coincidence - just CONNECTION :)
Awesome post Carole!
Sincerely,
Grace
the more I read your blogs about Feng Shui Carole, the more intrigued I am. Though I don't know much about it, I feel like I totally relate to your explanations! I love learning more and more!
Okay,
How do we put our names in red on the back wall of a green wall without looking like dorks?
Hi Carole! Great post. I love this advise and I am fortunate to have this correct in my home.
No coincidence, I was thinking about you Carole ;-) Great post and I too believe there are no accidents or happenstance - it's what we do with those gifts that determine how we benefit from them. Happy New Year!
Late to my own replies--I'm so sorry!
Deborah, I hope you have done it or will do it soon. It's a wonderful, INTENTIONAL way to get your name out there! And congratulations on your new job, I hope you love it!
Grace, It is a connection...and energy between you! I always love when that happens myself.
Crystal,Feng Shui is complicated and involved....and makes sense when you can break it down for people. I have been accused of over-simplifying it and I do that to at least get people to see they CAN do some of it on their own.
Brenda, It doesn't have to be big or it can be behind something....if you do it with Intention, it WILL help. Feng Shui doesn't always need to show.
Cathy, I'm glad you do....but from your staging I'd gather you are already familiar with feng Shui.
Karen, Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me know :) I appreciate it. I have never believed in Coincidences OR Accidents and am reading an interesting book called "Beyond Coincidence" which gives you some pretty amazing statitics on what the odds are on some of the things that happen to us!
Ummm my fame area is in an odd place, a small wall between breakfast area and family room slider...can't see how to put my name in red over the window??? seems a bit showy when people come in. Is it pretty literal?
