What I LOVE about MY Profession: Feng Shui

What I LOVE about being a Feng Shui Consultant in New York

I was tagged not long ago by the lovely Julie Neerings Julie Neerings~Lifting Hearts ♥ Building Dreams~Utah REALTOR®   to write about what I LOVE about my profession.  From Home Staging to Home Inspection to Real Estate Agents to Feng Shui Consultants I believe we ALL have a love (and in my case a bit of a fascination) with HOMES-and care very much about the PEOPLE who live in them.

Having realized through working in Wholistic Health that not only the Energy of your BODY but the Energy of your surroundings can have a huge impact on your life, it all made sense to me.  From the very first time I heard of Feng Shui I knew it was something I HAD to learn.

What makes my profession so special to me?

  • There are the CLIENTS first and foremost.  Some who are just beginning their journey into looking at life in a different way to those with a little bit of knowledge and curiosity to those with a strong interest and belief in Feng Shui.  We are All on the same page, we all want the best results and we connect in a very special way.

  • Getting personal in Feng Shui is important-to do our BEST job as Feng Shui Consultants we need to ask some personal questions about health, relationships, finances and more. We can also share back which allows our clients to know they are not alone in their experiences.  It creates a long lasting bond and becomes a real friendship-ones that we both treasure.

 Friendship Feng Shui Long Island

  • Helping People and seeing lives change before your eyes is the most gratifying part of all.  You have made a difference in their lives; they never forget it and neither do you from the lovely calls and emails.

  • You are always learning.  As I moved in life from job to job I realized that once I learned it I would become bored.  I loved and thrived on the challenges of learning something new but then the interest faded.  In Feng Shui you can never stop learning-It is an intense subject and no matter how hard you try, you will never, EVER get to it all-or get bored in THIS profession!

  • I work most weekend but I don't mind a bit; I work then because it's when my client's are HOME or can go into the office and not be disturbed.  It allows me flexibility to do something after if I choose as I NEVER take two consultations in one day.  Some clients need more time then others and I never want to feel rushed-or worse, make THEM feel rushed.

These are just a FEW of the things I love about my profession....but it's mostly the PEOPLE. We have combined our Energy.  We CARE.

Ahh Carole I knew I would get the feeling of caring about People from your Post, and I did.  Your belief  in not wanting people to feel rushed says that you care.  It tells me that you are doing what we Agents are supposed to do....put the needs of the client above self.  That is what happens when people are passionate about their Profession.  Thank you for sharing this with us....

Carole - is a beautiful post about your profession - the people certainly make the difference in the end I think in any profession in terms of who one surrounds oneself with.   Helping people is very rewarding at the same time learning something new each day and week too... is a great combination !

This is just what I would expect you love about your profession.  I can see how much you love helping people and how much of yourself you put into these consultations.  You truly conveyed your emotional ties to this "job"

Gary, We are very fortunate to have found our chosen fields, some people never find theirs........

Liz, Sometimes it sounds to me as if you are well on your way :)!

Sharon, I feel very lucky--I wonder about the people that don't follow their dreams.

Kathy, I'll make a believer out of you yet!  My, you're a difficult one :)  And your sage was wonderful, THANK YOU!

Christopher and Stephanine, Helping people and watching them change their lives around IS wonderful---there's nothing nicer then that in this work.

Jo, Thank you---and I am lucky they have found me--they are ALL wonderful!  That's hard to say with many professions!

Joan, I am glad to see the growth of Feng Shui as well.  It's difficult to remember the "old" days when you never thought of getting a call from a Corporation--now they call very often.

Chastity, It is definitely a rewarding profession and that's probably why I love it so much.

Carol, Thank you, I hope some people have made some changes and hopefully have seen some differences from my posts.

Donna, The lovely thing is that my clients do as well....it's always a matter of combined energy!

Deb, Like you I couldn't be happier that Julie is back.....and what an honor that she tagged me!

Cathy, Thank you!  I sure hope so, I just hit 10,000 comments :)

Sally, This was a wonderful "tag" that you started---which reminds me I forgot to tag two others--oh dear!  I'll have to edit--------

Mara, I have a lot to be grateful for--we ALL do I believe although we may not always see it at times.

Paddy, That's funny that you put the word "job" in quotes, it never feels like one :)

Matha, Thank you.  I honestly can't imagine anything else I'd rather be doing...

Michele, I love too that there is always more to learn--I thrive on learning when the subject interests me and Feng Shui facinates me!

Gita, Thank you.. I should have tagged two others and am going to make it a point to do that today; I love to keep this going.

Teri, I am so happy I stayed with it--through all the years when no one knew what it was.  I can't even imagine what I'd be doing but it wouldn't be something I love.

Trace, That's very true.  I never wake up tired on the day of a consult, I wake up excited--such a wonderful feeling!

Cat, It IS great--all of us that followed our passion (no matter what it was) should all be grateful we didn't leave our dreams behind!

Kris, A little too much heart and too much forgetting to tag others :(  I'll be back with that--and no one is safe :)  Have a wonderful day!!

Carole:  I agree, helping people and watching their lives change for the better is the most gratifying.  I have met some of the best people I would ever hope to meet since I've been in real estate.  Your sincerity and care for your clients really shows through.

Carole, that's a great post.... and your 'caring' about people certain comes through loud and clear.  There's nothing like doing exactly what we love.

Carole, Thank you for this post... i was just asking myself this question about the real estate work and your answers are universally valuable. "Helping People and seeing lives change before your eyes is the most gratifying part of all" ...That is what strikes me the most. One day someone opens to you and ask for assistance, in a life changing experience... you get their trust and friendship and you take a walk together in fulfilling that dream. Nothing can make you feel better than to help people.
