Manhattan's Central Park--And a Question

Central Park AGAIN?  Well, yes and no.  I was in Central Park in Manhattan not long ago when they were celebrating their 150th anniversary!  A beautiful day (and a post to follow) but there is just ONE shot I wanted to show you:

Central Park Manhattan by Feng Shui Long Island & New Yokr==rk

I loved the huge balloon and many other things scattered throughout the Park to commemorate this occasion.  And was struck by this fountain as well....I later found out it is the oldest fountain in Central Park.  I thought it was beautiful and that I must have passed it before---It looks so familiar.

There are so MANY fountains in Central Park but this one was nagging at me.  Feng Shui Consultants LOVE fountains and use them and recommend them to our clients for certain ‘cures' and reasons.  They even make tiny desktop fountains now that run on batteries they have become so popular.

But there was something about THIS one.  Only later did I find out why.  Even if you've never been to lovely New York City, you may recognize this fount

I wanted to see how many people might recognize it....NO CHEATING : )  So try not to read the comments and just have a bit of FUN.

Hi Carole ... I'm stumped.  I only know the name of one fountain in Central Park, and this is not it.

I am thinking it has to be from a movie and it does look familiar but I can not place it.  Parked for the answer.

Hi Carole, hope to go to New York City one day, but on this one I don't even recognise it from a movie. I only remember one fountain in a movie and it was with the song three coins in a fountain. Not this one for sure. :)

Carole, no clue...will check back later to see who gets it. Surely some N. Y folks will.

Carole--I remember it from a movie...Arthur maybe? I know that was based in NY. But so were many others...Waiting for the answer. :)

I have no idea but isn't it the one that the intro to Friends was filmed in?  Gorgeous pic and I will check back in to see what the fountain is.

This thing has been in a huge group of movies. I kinda think I may know where you are going and what you are getting at, but I wanna have the game go on for a while longer so I'm gonna bookmark and remain parked here (LOL). ;-)

Hi FRIENDS :)  Leesa--that's what it is, the Fountain the TV show Friends was filimed in front of!  Good work.    Which makes me wonder---if Sally, Carol, Crystal, Tom, Terrylynn, Marie, Paddy, Michelle Missy, Teri and Melody saw the show so many times and couldn't place it either?  I used to like that show---and I finally went to ask :)

Hi Carole,

That balloon is really cool! I have never been to Central Park but would love to go. As for the fountain...I think I have seen it on tv before. :)

I'm late to the party...but the Friends thingy was my first guess. I JUST LOVE your pics, ma'am!! GBU!

Joan, It took me a while so I finally asked.  I love the fountain myself.

Carolyn, I'm SURE it has been in Movies as well but it was in the beginning of Friends--every season!  Now I have the song stuck in my head :)

Suzanne, Oh, I'm sure you have if you've seen FRIENDS you've seen it many times.

Cynthia, Me too as soon as someone told me.....I did used to like that show!

James, I bet there are times you miss the park, I know I would.  I do lots of posts about it if you get "homesick" :) because I love it so much myself.

Joan, Darn, I didn't ask the name.   I only learned that it was the oldest in the Park and where they filmed Friends.

Elizabeth, Funny that I was staring at it and couldn't remember!  I am looking forward to learning Spanish!!  GBU always.

Hi Carole!

Beautiful photo!  I recognize the fountain too, however couldn't place it....so I had to sneak a peak at the comments.  ((-:

Please tell Laura once again from me that she has incredible talent as a photographer...the two of you have so much fun on your jaunts around the city; I hope one day to make it there and go on a few with you!

Beautiful photo and post Carole - I don't recall seeing this one when Jeff & I were in Central Park in 96? This fountain looks like one of many Kara and I saw when we went to Paris in 92 !

We have a small fountain in our living room - the water running over the slate and rocks is a soothing sound :)

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Grace

Chastity, I love them as well....there are three in my house (I may have overdone it a bit :)

Jo, Hi!  I will let Laura know and I'm sure she thanks you.  My camera can do SO much I really should learn how to use it all!  She's (of course) better then I am :)

Grace, I love them too.  One of mine is SO big I'm wondering whether to keep it!  It has a mist as well and looks just beautiful but it is huge!

Wow, how cool.  I should have looked closer.  I was too ready to read the comments and see any clues.

Carole - I had no clue but I read the comments.  I wouldn't have gotten the answer since I did not watch friends.

Posted by Jennifer Fivelsdal, Mid-Hudson Valley (JFIVE HOMES REALTY LLC) about 1 year ago

Kim, I knew I had seen it somewhere--you know that nagging feeling.  I was glad someone told me, I'd still be wondering.

Jennifer, I used to like that show :)  And the song (which was stuck in my head for DAYS after this!)

Hi Carole,

The fountain is lovely and hard to believe that Central Park is 150 years old!! I could not guess, but as soon as I read it was in Friends I could picture it then.
