New York City-Manhattan---A Feng Shui Consultant's Day....
The San Gennaro Feast in Manhattan is something I NEVER miss. I know some people LOVE New York City....and others are not so fond of it! The San Gennaro Feast runs every year and is the oldest, largest and best known Italian Feast. St. San Gennaro is the patron Saint of Naples and people come from all over the world each year to attend this festival. Feast of San Gennaro
1.5 million attended this year. Laura Cerrano and I accounted for two of those : ) If you can't stand crowds, noise or unpredictable weather, this is not something you would enjoy. In fact I was dismayed to hear from one of my AR friends that last years post-when not a DROP of rain was predicted but we had a heavy and unrelenting downpour is the way I will be remembered....OUCH!
That post was SUPPOSED to show Determination and Creativity from Feng Shui Consultants in New York who have learned to "Go With the Flow." I guess not. You need Persistance AND Creativity in New York City But if you love fairs, you'll adore this one! This year we have a balmy 89 degrees and it STILL did not stop the crowds.
Here are some shots of a special day in Manhattan at their famous San Gennaro Feast--Seen through Feng Shui Eyes!

The end of the Road....and the Beginning of Chinatown!

1.5 Million! That's amazing! I bet all the food smells so GOOD. Can't beat Italian food. Sounds like you had fun!
Wow - sounds spectacular and a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing the photos ! Is a lot of people - Im sure the food was excellent - those sausages sure look tasty !
OMG! Carole! I can taste the sausage sandwich and zeppoli. I used to love going to that Feast every year! The food, the people, San Gennaro with the money attached ... it was always such a blast ... as a child and as an adult. Eat from one end to the other, turn around and eat your way back! Thanks for the pics ... look at the sausage sizzle.
Manhattan is my little home town; it rocks ... always has and always will :)
Hi Carole,
I've attended one and I will get back for another some day. The food was unbelievable!
Wow Carole! Now that's a feast! And that sausage ......... I could smell it cooking!
Maybe one of these days I'll get back up there to take in one of these awesome fairs. Thanks for sharing!
Carole - Mama Mia.....that is one rocking festival! In Wooster Square, the "Little Italy" of New Haven we have St. Andrew's Feast in June and Santa Maria Magdelina Feast in July on a much smaller scale than San Gennaro's. So many of the foods and delicacies are exactly how my Grandmother made them so many years ago....Mangia, mangia!!
Carole- So this is where you were in your lovely trash bag outerwear........ LOL :) :) See, I knew you wore that great trash-bag, and yes I do think it was clever, but I also have that vision ingrained with your name on it :)
As to your festival, good thing you showed that great food, it gives me something else to concentrate on.....so how does a Feng Shui Consultant handle all that great food?
I would have really loved this fair. It reminds me of the fairs in San Francisco. Hope everyone enjoyed the day. It looks like a lot of fun.
Carole,
It looks like a good time was had by all! Beautiful pictures....I wish I lived closer, I would have loved to have tagged along.

Thank you for sharing pictures from your life in New York, it looks like so much fun!
Carole, the candy apples look pretty good to me. Don't hang around the complainers. They drag you down.
I would have loved this... and the apples were beautiful! It's fun to see what a fengshui artist captures... thank you for sharing the joy!
Hi Carole...Thanks for telling us about the Italian Feast of San Gennaro, I wish I was there, sounds executing and fun, the Food I'm sure is mouthwatering. Love the candy Apple photo and all your photos.
Great Post again on New York, they'll be asking you to run for Mayor soon!
Looks very crowded and like a lot of fun. Love the candied apples...looks good.
Carole ~ Every year my husband says we should go and we always remember after it's been held! I am glad to hear you had great weather this year.
Carole, I've been having this horrible craving for candy apples- you've just made it unbearable! :)
I love going to events like that and you did a great job presenting it. The food looks fabulous, and I particularly like the candy apples!!!
Carole, see! You are having fairs and festivals too :) I adore Italian food and I was imagining the aroma of garlic, onions and sausage while walking through the streets. Maybe one day I'll get to experience it in person. I'm so glad you had a good time and much better weather this year!
Hi Carole, It looks like you had a fun day. I can only imagine the yummy food. Thanks for sharing. I hope to share my trip to Oz tommorrow. God bless,
Carol--What a fun event! And those candied apple look so tasty too! Nice of you to tie up everything by showing where the Italian are ends and Chinatown starts. Reminds us all of what a wonderful city NYC really is!
Chris, I love this feast every year--rain or shine :) It's the one thing in New York I never miss!
Christopher, It's crowded--and FUN. I think almost ALL parts of NYC are like that but it's one great city.
Marie, I would have hated to leave the City! I don't live there but I make it a point to get in as often as I can---and you can't beat the parades either.
Cynthia, Food and Fun :) I love this particular feast and apparently so do many other people!
Carol, After your move and you're settled come in the Spring--my favorite time of year in Manhattan!
Donna, My grandmother made them all too...sesame cookies, zeppoles--if it was Italian, she cooked it! I pass all the food and wish I had learned how to make some of it!
Kathy, I deliberately did NOT mention any names!! I want to be remembered as a Feng Shui Consultant, not a nutty New Yorker in somewhat unusal "outerwear." You can't handle all the food, you have to pass lots by :(
Joan, San Francisco is another love of mine...it's a fantastic city and I've been there more then any other except for Boston!
Jo, We would have loved to have you! Anytime you can get to New York you're more then welcome, I think you would love it.
Kevin & Monica, It is a fun city, that's for sure. There is always something going on!
Gary, Laura got a great close up, I had to enlarge that picture :) There was a comment on last years post about hating the festival....I thought of it when posting it this year.
Mara, I loved that shot too, the nice vendor let my daughter get VERY close to them (probably wondering WHY she was shooting candy apples :) I hope you get to come to a fair here one year, I'd bet you would love it.
Fred, Thank you---I post often on all the things in New York and Long Island that I can go to and have found many people love to see 'The Big Apple."
Chastity, I loved that photo as well--and have another of other kinds of apples they make---it's a great festival, everyone is in such a good mood!
Kathy, It is always late September or early October---the weather this year was HOT--89 degrees! I don't mind the heat but I saw an awful lot of drinks being made :)
Laurie, Sorry, it was a great shot :) I'm posting another so don't come back.
Sharon, It is always a hit with me, this particular event. I go to Little Italy often because it really is a nice part of the City. The candy apples were a hit :)
Lisa, We do...I missed many this year due to the move and work but most of ours come up on the same weekends---and you absolutely can't do two in one day!
Cheryl, I hope you had a wonderful time....I'll have to go and look for your posts!
Teri, I think Canal street was more crowded then the FAIR :) It's difficult to get around down there now!
Carole, oh my gosh! Those red candy apples made my mouth water!! Love those!!
How fun Carole! Makes me long to be back in Chicago - Chinatown, Greek-town... Oh, all the food, the smells, the lights and the people! Well, maybe I'll stay right here in rural MO and enjoy through your New York eyes! No traffic this way!
Wow that's some BIG festival Carole LOL - the photos of the candy apples are making me hungry :)
Glad you had a fun time and thanks for sharing!
Sincerely,
Grace
Oh I am SOOOOOO jealous! Looks amazing! I miss NY!!!
Oh Yummers ! I love the candied apples - they're Ad worthy! And the sausages look so yummy - i can smell the fried onions!
I love festivals! This looks like it was a blast. Candy apples are second only to caramel apples in their yummy goodness. Great photos.
Susan I love them too and these were incredible (which is why I made that photo huge :)
Debbie, I've visited Chicago a few times and really loved it there! People are so Friendly! Yes, we've got crowds all right, it seems everyone turns out for this feast.
Grace, I love this fair, it is probably my favorite....loud, crowded and a lot of fun.
Annie, It will be getting cold soon---I love the spring and summer here but spring when everything is budding is my favorite time of year.
Liz, I loved that shot---made it huge. The vendors were very nice about letting my daughter zoom in on their food :)
Rich, Oh, they had them too...I'll put them in another blog because I didn't include them here. They make GREAT food at this feast!
Carole,
I'm so glad that you and Laura were able to attend the feast....the photos are beautiful and it looks very inviting. I haven't had breakfast yet and now, after reading your post, I'm suddenly famished!
