Feng Shui and Pets--Pure Fire Energy by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City

Feng Shui and Pets:  Pure FIRE Energy by Feng Shui Long Island & New York City

I am often asked by my clients of Feng Shui in Long Island and New York about pets, sometimes prior to choosing one.  They wonder how or if it will change the Energy in their home.  If they feel things are going well, will it hurt them?  Or cause them to have better "luck."  I never know if I can never be objective on this because I love animals so much but I do tell what I have leaned not only in Feng Shui School but during all my years as a Feng Shui Consultant on Long Island.

The addition of a Pet or ANY living thing will always change the Energy in a home.  Pets are pure FIRE energy....and although many are sleeping half the time, I believe they add an element that is all too often missing in our homes and sometimes our lives.  All pets (even FISH) give us energy and vitality, such as the color RED does.  To me, it is an addition of wonderful energy.

I relate it to the lack of the color red I see missing from so many homes.  And though It may sound hard to believe, small changes in balancing the energies with all the elements is an important Feng Shui principle.  Here on Long Island I have especially noticed all the happiness and liveliness when people are decorating their homes for the holidays....out come the Red bows and decorations and we're out and about shopping, having holiday parties and generally very happy.

Soon after, in January, the decorations come down; pretty soon we are feeling kind of "blah."  We're not out playing anymore, we are dreading the rest of the winter and our moods just change to a more somber one.

Even SANTA knows Feng Shui--He wears RED for Energy

Pets-and the color RED add a necessary element to our lives, particularly pets on a number of levels in Feng Shui. So the next time you are tempted to add a new "Fluffy" or "Rover" to the mix, go right ahead!

Carole, I would agree on both counts red being a lively color and festive, and pets being alive adding energy to a house. I sensed this even before you confirmed it with your skills and knowledge.

I must have a LOT of fire energy in my house with 2 dogs and a cat!

Carole - Good to know I'm doing well in the energy and vitality department.  I have a red walls... 3, and pets... 5.  My mother and I are just figuring out how we're going to deal with our money corners.  After your information, we now know there's a problem.  Actually, Terrylynn would love a phone consultation if you provide that service.

I know you have the official terms for the energy of animals (pure Fire Energy) but all I know is that animals are for the most part, all loving.  Not only do they change the energy but the absolutely react to energy.  They can tell bad energy right away.  If you watch the Dog Whisperer, he is all about the energy you give to your pets.

By the way, I picked ZZ Top!  My osn loves that kind of music!  He is my totally 70's kid! :o)

Here's Shadow (my little girl) carrying her red crab. Pets/Red....get it?  LOL

Thanks Carole. Another enlightening post about the importance of bringing in the GOOD energy into our homes.

I have 2 rabbits, but they are outside pets.  I do have my home decorated in red though.  It's one of my favortie colors because I always feel happy when I wear it.

Carole - My two dogs and one cat add plenty of "fire" in my home.  Seriously, if they weren't here things just wouldn't be right.  I love red and I have it everywhere whether subtle or in your face.  Makes me feel good.

Oh my..........I must have lots of energy in my house, four dogs !! This is wonderful to know and sometimes the barking when someone comes to the door and I'm on the phone with a client has made me wonder what they person on the phone must be thinking.

Hi Carole,
So for lots of fire, perhaps we need to put red bows on our pets!  LOL.

Carole - my sofa is red, does that count?  And that's only because the new dog chewed the front of it!  LOL  She's energy alright!  LOTS of it.

Thanks for yet another look into the marvels of Feng Shui.

Carole, I can't imagine my home without my dog.  If he is at the vet, or he left early with my husband for vacation this summer, it was so strange in the house without him?  I definitely feel his presence and energy.  As for red, he is a red Australian Shepherd.

Carole ~ what a great topic. I never thought of pet's energy being feng shui energy!!! I have a crazy little pomeranian that sings...Yes she has brought a lot of laughter to the house! and I never thought about the energy but she really brings a new energy to the house. When she wants anything she will sing for it! Thanks Carole. Always so informative!

I'm reading the comments and my dog just laid his head right on the keyboard.  He concurs!  Sometimes, it's hard to keep up with my 2 dogs but they are the BEST!

I'm not a person that can live with red walls, but I love red accents.  I also like to wear red, but it has to be the right red.  I'm pretty sensitive to color.

Carole:  Amen to this post!  My two new puppies have added so much energy to my home and my life, that I can barely keep up.  I love watching them wake up in the mornings because they are exuberant and so happy to just be alive.  They have definitely brought an energy that has been missing for a long time.

Gary, Some people definitely can feel it--and I love the energy of both red and pets.  Maybe that's why I love animals so much...

Lisa, I could never get my dogs to get along with a kitten though I'd love to have one.

Chris, I absolutely do provide phone consults, Terrylynn is welcome to call anytime.  It definitely sounds as if you've got a lot of fire energy and I love red accent walls to really bring out a room!

Cristal, You're going to have a great time at the concert I'm sure!  I know that animals sense things and give unconditional love....they are really pure little beings.

Sally, What a WONDERFUL picture to share, I sure do get it!  Many of my pets toys are red but they're not nearly as big as that crab :)

Pam, You feel good and so does Tiger Woods.  He always wears a RED shirt for the US Open because wearing the color red is recommended on "low energy" days...or when you just want to WIN.

Leesa, It makes me feel good too.  It's often what I see lacking, even in the most beautiful homes and definitely in businesses and corporations.

Missy, We had four dogs at once too a long time ago.  They were all little and all LOUD.  I always figured people thought we were animal lovers with a well protected home :)

Cynthia, Very cute lol Mine sometimes comes home in a red bandana after a grooming :)  He looks so cute until it annoys him and he pulls it off!

Carol, It absolutely DOES count.  And it's great, it adds a large amount of the color.  Try to see if it balances with the other elements as well.

Audrey, I don't know off hand what he looks like but I do know the "empty house" syndrome.  I get it when they're out being groomed!  I've only been without at least one dog once for a short time....But I always feel my pets choose ME :)

Fernando, I love the your little dog, I remember the picture you showed of her(?).  I didn't know she sings, that is adorable.  I had a dog that I swore used to try to talk back....I just couldn't understand her.  I notice that you use red in your stagings and that's a good FS principle.

Elaine, As I'm choosing colors for my house I didn't really realize how sensitive I was to color either--in my space.  It's taken me almost $250 in paints and sample boards and I only need one more color....but it has to be the right shade!  I definitely know what you're talking of with the RIGHT colors.

Donna, I know the feeling, I had lost my two dogs within months of eachother once and it was heartbreaking.  I took some time to mend before I even went to look and after a while, my dog found me :)  I still think they choose us and I'm glad you feel the fire and energy again.

LOL Carole - we certainly have alot of energy at our home since Jeff loves animals we have a black Lab named Buddy, a African Parrot who talks and whisles named BoBo and Salt water fish tank with beautiful ( so peaceful to watch ) Angels and others ( Jeff knows all the species names ).

Can't imagine life without them - Bobo call the dogs name Imitates our laughter and the microwave and phone and doorbell to a T and has even landed on Buddy's back and the Dog just walks around until we get him ....

they get along well.... which is beyond explaination as Labs are supposed to hunt birds?

Interesting post - thanks for the explaination

Sincerely,

Grace

Carole, I love my pets. I believe they bring joy and life into the house and our lives! I would not choose to live without the companionship of a loving soul. I do hope you are doing well. I've been working in my house little by little as I learn...little by little. Coming to Texas soon? Thought not.

If you do...this is where you will stay! Later in the rain~Deb
