Want a Perfect Day? In Feng Shui we Plan on It!
Reading one of Katerina's posts recently struck a nerve. She said in her lists of things you can do to help yourself is to stop watching the NEWS. We all want to be informed, we all want to know what is going on-but how many of us have become "News Junkies"? How Do You View What You See and Hear?
I was, years ago. It went from just the nightly news (certainly not the BEST way to go to sleep!) but to keeping CNN on ALL the time. I heard It all and saw it all and didn't even realize the toll it was taking not only on my emotional but physical life. Until I stopped....Cold Turkey. Under orders from the Energy Healer I had been working with at the time.
I was also taught that in place of the news at night to do certain things that will help not only a Feng Shui Consultant but anyone. Pre-plan your day. Think of what you have to do the following day and envision things all moving along well. There's not nearly as much traffic, you received a contact from someone interested in your services, there was no line at the grocery store....whatever you have to do that day.
And repeat it again in the morning for the next 5 or 10 minutes. If you believe that Energy follows THOUGHT and INTENTION, you have already started to change the energy into a positive flow for the following day. Going over it again in the morning helps you confirm it.
This is not to say that every day everything will go as expected....but the majority of them do. And the things you weren't planning on that pop up are more likely to be GOOD things because you have sent into motion good energy around you-which in turn can very well set it off in those you meet.
It might sound too simple to be true but it's what many Feng Shui Consultants believe it-including at least two that live in Nassau County : ) Enjoy your day, you planned it!

I do something similar and when I am consistant my days are wonderful!
Carole- It is SO true, I would only add to begin your day and retire with thoughts of gratitude. For some that would be prayer, for others that would be focused thoughts. Intention is the key. Feel the gratitude. And like you said, you must visualize your day in advance. Thank you so much for mentioning my post and for your link love.
Carole ~ I noticed that I haven't been watching the news in the evening or at night for a few months now. It wasn't a conscious decision, maybe I was just tired of hearing only bad things. I don't miss it either.
Carole, I have been working on just that: putting a strong intention on how I want my day to go, on visualizing the desired outcome, etc. It has been getting better, little by little. One thing that's still a challenge is remembering to ask for time: to have appropriate time to complete all necessary tasks, and to know with crystal clarity the order of completion as it fits in the Divine Plan.
Carole,
I agree with you completely. I have avoided the news for years now and only check the major headlines once very 3 or 4 days to see if anything major has happened.
I like the idea of planning your day the night before and this is something I often do, sort of like a wish list. This reminds me of how I believe it is a good practise to give your subconscious mind things to work on while you're sleeping.

Hi Carole. Thanks for the tips. You are always so inspiring...!
I'm an NPR junkie, or at least was until about 2 weeks ago. I'm turning it all off, I can't take it any more. And even though I've believed in the power of thought and manifestation for some time, I'm just now really working on it.
Recently I had a buyer who I was almost afraid of, not physically but in every other way. I just kept repeating either in my mind or out loud " Love not fear". I truely believe I changed the outcome. It all worked out well. Next is a dream board. Thanks for the inspiration!
Carole~ Planning your day is exactly what I need to do -- It does set the tone for the rest of the day and I think a little less news would be a good thing. I have been taking a break from the news this week and it has been nice to focus on some other things.
Hi Carole - as always, good advice. I had to go so far as to contact our local news station here in Fresno (abc) and let them know I counted 11 references to sex in 2 minutes on the five o'clock news as the children and family are doing homework and preparing dinner. Their response was thank you for bringing it to their attention and then continued on as usual. I do allow it on now, EVER! When will our children get a break!!!
Ana, Thank you for bringing that up, you do have to be consistant in it. And thank you for your comment.
Katerina, Your post was VERY true. Turn OFF the news and fill your mind and thoughts with good things. It's important to health and you had a terrific list.
Kathy, It's usually the last thing people do before bed. Reading a good book or taking a bath are much better before sleep, I'm glad you don't miss it.
Marzena, It takes time and practice to turn things around but you are shifiting the energy with your thoughts and intentions by doing this---over time it absolutely WILL help!
Jo, It's like intensifying the energy of the next day and then letting it go! It does work more often then not. -- btw, I'm still waiting for your next post :)
Robert, Good luck to you, I know that after a while they do help. Thank you for your comment.
Dena, I was a new junkie, I had it on all the time. It took some adjustment but I am MUCH happier leaving it off and thinking good things, particulary before bed. I'm glad you turned your situation around...the power of energy.
Joan, Take a long break, especially before bed. It was so hard for me, I hadn't realized it's all I ever watched. The only tv I do now is a movie....that's it. And I feel much better.
Sheron, I guess it's what they believe people want to hear....anything sensational or sad. I keep it off now and try to be consistant in pre planning my days!
Thanks, Carole. I will follow your "lead". Tonight, I watched the news and they were talking about radon in granite countertops. I've had it. :)
Hi Carole...I know you're right about the news but I don't know if I can give it up.. it definately does depress me.
Carole: For a long while, my husband and I got into watching "police procedurals" every night before bed. We have seen so many CSIs that it is rare one is showing that we haven't seen. But my mind got so stimulated (and not always with the nicest visuals) that I was having trouble sleeping. We have pretty much stopped watching TV altogether. We read the paper in the morning at breakfast to stay informed. At night, I turn off the computer about an hour before I go to bed (another stimulant) and read in bed. I try to select novels that will make me feel good about things so my last thought before sleeping are pleasant ones.
I keep a pad and pen next to the bed in case I wake up in the middle of the night concerned about something that needs to get done. I can write it down and then release it so I can go back to sleep.
I like your pre-planning with positivity. I will have to try it tonight!
Laurie, It's all bad news of course....and the last thing I want to hear, especially before bed....I won't watch it anymore which was a difficult change from a CNN "junkie."
Joan, You have to give it up, really. Or allow yourself a 1/2 hour a day, that way if anything truly happened that you needed to know about it would come up. It was very hard for me but it definitely made my overall health better!
Michelle, Too much bad news affects you on many levels...and it was interfering with your sleeping. I'm glad you turned it off and when you pre-plan consistantly, your days DO go much better, you will notice it!
Carole - pre-plan your day to create positive energy flow....what a great idea....i too started watching CNN just during the primaries.........finally a couple of weeks agoi thought......Enough!......besides its the same thing all day long .....its a revolving newscast of the utmost drama.............now what do i do instead? hmmmm A/R!
