You would think, if they were going to build new stadiums for both the Mets and Yankees they would have called in a Feng Shui consultant BEFOREHAND. Not the case. The New York Post decided to write a story from a Feng Shui Consultant on the two stadiums and which one would be more likely to do better.
Yankee Stadium, called "The House that Ruth Built" was originally built in 1923. It was the first three tiered sports facility in the U.S. Interestingly enough, it's very first performer was also Billy Joel, who is now giving "The final play at Shea." Although Yankee Stadium had undergone major renovations, it needed much more work and rather then renovate once again, they are building a new Stadium
Feng Shui consultant Judith Wendell was called in by reporter Lois Weiss and the headline of the New York Post Read: "If You Believe in Feng Shui, the Mets are in Trouble." Not exactly what some die hard Mets fans would want to hear. Their last win was in 1986 and I think when they finally do win, ALL of New York will take the day off!
Unfortuately, Judith's day didn't go exactly as planned. In spite of a driver and an escort, she could not find the reporter. She was also unexpectedly sprayed with water-which, she said, she took as a good sign because water is abundance. The Mets new stadium (she was unable to get inside as both are in construction) was plagued by "disturbed" energy according to the dowsing rods. Also, the team colors of blue and orange are "antagonistic." Absolutely true if you look at the color wheel, they are opposing colors.
How about some RED? (This is ME talking : ) Fire, Energy, Passion...maybe a WIN. I have always thought uniforms were important!
Good aspects that she found at Yankee Stadium included the fact that they are using many of the same things from the old stadium thereby bringing with them good predecessor energy. As one person also noted, it's helping to be Eco Friendly-if you don't count the 400 trees it has cut down and the 22 acres of public parkland that was taken over. That can't be good Feng Shui....
No matter who wins or loses, one hard and fast rule I will NEVER forget:
"THERE IS NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!"

Carole, thank you for sharing this bit of New York history with us. How magical is this. So, is the rule that you'll never forget that there is no crying in baseball or is it to treat everyone like they were your mother?
Love video.
Hey Carole, it's a girl's league, so what do you expect? Great clip from a fun movie. No crying in baseball. Thanks for your updates on the Feng Shui between the two new stadiums. My college Alma Mata the Fla Gators won two basketball and a football championship with those orange and blue antagonistic colors so we do it despite where we are on the color wheel : )
LOL! That is one of the classic scenes in sports movies! It is a shame to see the old stadiums go but it is also exciting to think of all the new and good memories that will be forged with historic teams in new stadiums. I am an Atlanta Braves fan so I really don't like either New York team!
You need to be on the staff of the Chicago Cubs, Carole! This *may* be their year, if not, I'd say there will be plenty of crying in baseball!
Wow, can't wait to hear how they do with all this! so much goin on!
Hi Carole,
When is the stadium supposed to be finished? There will be much new "history" made there. Change is difficult but it can be good.
I love that movie! No crying in baseball! I'm afraid I may never get my chance to see a game at Shea, how sad--I once had the goal of visiting each ne of the classic originals..
great post, Carole!
This is very interesting. I can't believe how many ways feng shui has an influence on what we experience in life. I would not have thought about baseball.
Hi Carole,
Well I learned something new today....thanks to you. I would have never thought about Feng Shui and sports or sport color combinations. But it makes sense.
Carole, you never cease to amaze me with your creative approach to all things Feng Shui...this is fascinating!
Carole,
This is fascinating...I had never thought of the feng shui of baseball stadiums and teams before and now that you have outlined some principles, I can easily see how all of this would apply.
Jo
