New York Feng Shui Art? What's 650 HOURS of your Time Worth?
I have always grown up with a love of ART. All different art in all different medias. Recently on a Feng Shui Consultation in the lovely town of Huntington, Long Island, New York I came across some amazing artwork I wanted to share with you.
As you probably already know, artwork in Feng Shui is very important. We use art to address the elements or to "back yourself up in life." We can add what's missing or simply signify something significant in Feng Shui with the use of artwork. Oftentimes during a space clearing in a home, we will use feathers along with the Sage to help clear the energy. Some of us use Peacock Feathers because we feel the Peacock is a significant animal---and while I have seen photography of Peacock Feathers, I came across a client who also believed in their significance and used real feathers to incorporate in the art.
It was incredibly beautiful and I wanted to share some photos with you. In speaking with my clients further I learned that in their country, Lebanon, they believed not only in Feng Shui but in the "evil eye." They do believe that people can put curses on you there and the good energy of the peacock can help deflect this energy.

*Six Hundred Fifty HOURS of Work--Amazing!

This is not my client's "job" by the way. This intricate work is what he does to "relax." It is painstaking work and precisely done (and goodness knows I would never have the patience!). He does custom pieces as well---both in the "String" styles and the Peacock Feathers and can make anything. Quite a talent.

What IS 650 HOURS of YOUR TIME WORTH? He sold a similar piece of artwork to the one with the Peacock Feathers for only $1,000. If you are interested in something special, contact me and I will give you his information.

Carole~ the patience it must take to create this artwork. They remind me somewhat of the string art we did as kids.
Not my idea of relaxation! How incredible to have such patience and a steady hand. I'm not sure I could part with something I spent 650 hours to make!
So amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. I love peacock feathers too but never heard the correlation to the evil eye as well. Makes sense! I love it!
Carole, awesome, pretty much sums up my comment, to kewl.
I have never seen anything done like this with feathers before. The patience and the artistic talent is amazing. You are connecting with a wide variety of folk Carole and I appreciate you bringing your life to us.
I'm at a loss for words - (I know, hard to believe) The attention to detail is exquisite. Patience? What an understatement.
Carole ... unique and spectacular work. I had heard that peacock feathers bring good luck, but I did not know their connection to the evil eye, which exists in other cultures as well. Thanks for sharing!
Lisa, It was somewhat like that but with total precision. Amazingly artistic and so detailed, I loved it.
Debbie, I know, I myself would never have the patience for it but that may be what makes his work so special, he loves doing it.
Cristal, I hadn't heard of it, either...or the fact that a form of Feng Shui is even practiced in the middle eastern countries.
Duane, I believe that's the first word I said to him when I saw the first piece, it is truly awesome work!
Gary, I love that I do get to meet so many interesting and wonderful people, thanks for the observation, I am always so grateful because I learn as well.
Kris, I know, I couldn't do it. Isn't it wonderful that some people love it and do it to relax??
Marie, I didn't know anything about the evil eye...it was new to me although I've heard the term. They are believed in there and peacock feathers are used here by both Native Americans and some Feng Shui Consultant.s
Carole,
I tried to comment on this post this morning, however AR was acting up again. Anyhow, better late than never!
Beautiful artwork....amazing. Laura's photography skills are amazing too.
Jo
I love string art! There are still crafters around here that do it...I see it on occasion...not quite as elaborate as that! I remember the kits they used to have..
This are absolutely amazing -- I love peacock feathers -- I can see why then are important in your work.
Carole,
These are beautiful and incredible! I cannot imagine selling any of these of $1,000!
Jo, I was getting the "Error Proxy" on and off today....I love this artwork and was absolutely drawn to it. He does custom pieces and can make anything--it's crossed my mind to have him make me something...can you imagine the wonderful energy from it?
Joan, I wish the "masterpiece" could be better seen, when I cropped it it lost something but it was just gorgeous. I love to hear the word "Custom" because when I am looking for something really special, I know he can make it for me.
Cynthia, Just the big one was $1,000, the rest were considerably less. I examined them because I couldn't believe the craftsmanship, they were just gorgeous.
Carole- I have seen similar artwork in Eastern Europe. I found this interesting about the feathers, and know of many that believe in the "evil eye" but had totally forgotten about it till reading this...thanks. I do remember that wearing red is supposed to "help protect you". I find it fascinating what other cultures believe.
Kathy, The Evil Eye is very much believed in many cultures and people use peacock feathers to deflect it with the EYES in them. I wish you could have seen this artwork in person, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and everything was done perfectly. I couldn't believe this relaxed him, it takes so much concentration!
