Where does a New York Feng Shui Consultant go to reconnect with Nature? Since I am often in New York City, I must say I love Central Park. The energies of the Park change constantly from place to place; some parts have music blaring and lots of activity to the quieter parts of the park where people are just enjoying all the beautiful scenery.
When I am on Long Island, one of my favorite places is The Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York. It is a quieter energy here, the scenery and historic buildings are beautiful and you find yourself wandering paths with beautiful trees, plants and outdoor flowers or can go into any one of a number of greenhouses to enjoy a more tropical feeling. It is truly a place for a Feng Shui Consultant to reconnect with nature and the town of Oyster Bay on Long Island is truly a beautiful place to be.
A brief history of this incredible property: The Historic Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York:
A Long Island Gold Coast Country Historic Estate. The Long Island Glittering Gold Coast era was the time between the Civil War and World War 11. Wealthy families and celebrities from New York City built communities of large estates around private Country Clubs and other recreational favorites.
"Planting Fields was the former estate of the Coe Family who developed and enjoyed it from 1913 to 1955. Together, William Robertson Coe and Mai Rogers Coe made their estate into a showplace for horticulture, art, archecture and design." Carole, we share positive energy and enjoying the beauty of nature. Your photos say it all about the Planting Fields. The greenhouses and outside gardens have such wonderful color. What a relaxing place to spend some time. New York and Long Island certainly have many wonderful places to visit.
Loved all these beautiful pictures! I am a flower fanatic. The wedding couple in the picture looked amazing! I love being in New york. Hope I can finally get back there to visit.
Carole, What an absolutely stunning place to visit! I would love to go there....arboretums and gardens are my favourite places to hang out and when they're coupled with beautiful historic architecture, I'm in heaven.
Laura's photos are magnificent! Please let her know that I think she is extremely talented and her photos go together wonderfully with your beautiful writing.

Thanks for this little glimpse into your part of the world and all the beauty of nature surrounding you. I enjoyed this tour and the wonderul pictures.
Wow, so much beauty! Thanks so much for sharing. We must be on the same wave because I just wrote about the beauty in our lovely trails in Fullerton!
I am in awe of your photography talent. I always feel as if I am actually right there with you touring the lovely areas. Thank you!
Carole, great shots and you are right what a fantastic setting for a wedding.
These are such great photos! Thanks for sharing them with us! I love the tudor style of the first two images. That style really reminds me of the idealized romantic English countryside.
Carole, this place is magical. I'm happy you are able to spend some time there :)
First, what great pictures!
Second, city dwellers reconnecting with nature is something I never think about. After all, I get out of the city every time I head home no more than 5 minutes from the office. In fact, I had a bear cross in front of my car Friday night. How nice you have places you can escape!
Carole - Thanks for sharing such beautiful shots. Certainly a great setting for wedding pictures.
Thanks for the tour! What a lovely historic, colorful and intriguing place! These are the types of places I love to go :)
Gary, This is really a spectacular place, I love to spend time there--so i bought a season pass :)
Lizette, I love the flowers too, the smell is in the air and they're just gorgeous.
Jo, I thought of you, I know you would love this place and all the lovely, historic buildings. It is a showplace and you're welcome anytime! Laura has been taking some wonderful shots, many of her pictures are just going to go up on my website too.
Joan, I'm glad you enjoyed it, I love to take people on my own "tours."
Cristal, I just read it and loved your shots as well. I love seeing different areas of the country so I enjoy Localism posts.
Kris, Thank you but I can't take the credit for the photos, Laura took them all.
Missy, I was surprised to see the bride and groom but they chose a beautiful place...and had a wonderful day to go with it!
Rich, The homes there, except for the main one are so tiny....and just gorgeous!
Marzena, It is magical, I'm glad you came along to visit!
Dena, That is wild to hear you had a bear cross....I would be terrified! There are bears upstate New York but not anywhere around where I live.
Jennifer, I will let Laura know you enjoyed them. It's a lovely place to go.
Sally, Thank you, you and me both. I love going to this place, it's so calming and beautiful and a nice place to really relax.
Wow, a visual gourmet feast! Thanks so much for adding a bit of color into my world today!
Incredible photos Carole! Thank you so much for sharing. I truly enjoy stopping by your blog each day - you are so good at telling a story with your photos.
Carole, what marvelous photos! It looks like you're on a tropical island. The tudor style reminds me of the houses where I grew up in Westchester County.
Wow! Stunning shots Carole - Laura has quite the capable photographic eye - she must take after her mom, hmm..?!
Carole ~ Laura cerrano takes beautiful pictures !! Love them all. But in perticular I love the Planting Fields in Oyster Bay. Reminds me of Hansel & Grethel !! great pictorial post
Chris, This place is so beautiful you can get lost in it for hours and hours. I love going there!
Debbie, I probably enjoy giving my "tours" then anyone who takes them :)
Brian, Thank you, that's funny I almost FEEL like I'm on a tropical island there...and far away from everything.
Deborah, She's been lucky enough to have taken photography....and light years ahead of me when it comes to that! I wish I did as well as she does on my photos.
Fernando, This is such a great place I wondered if you had been there since you lived in NY for so long. But then there's not much reason to leave Central Park :)
Hi Carole ... I remember visiting the Coe estate many years ago; it is a beautiful place. Thanks for the reminder and beautiful pics.
And Central Park ... there is just no place like it! That juxtaposition of nature against the backdrop of incredible architecture ...
Her photography skills really stand out Carole - very professional - what an awesome gal you have in your beautiful and talented Laura!
Hi Carole,
I started visiting the "Planting Fields" back in the 60's when it was the 'happening place to be' (but I won't go into 'why'!). Now as an 'adult', I recognize the beauty of the greenhouses and the decor of the mansion. There is also that 'gi-normous' tree that was brought over by boat...do you know which one I'm talking about? It's up by the mansion...
Val
Carole, what beautiful photos...the flowers look so real like you can reach out and touch them. Thanks for the tour.
