The Summer Sizzles With Activities in Long Island New York

The weather in Long Ilsand, NY has become a bit unpredictable, which is not a bad thing. Spring is very short lived, allowing Winter to leap frog directly into Summer. The positive to that, is now we have an even longer Summer season. Usually, in the evening the hot temps of the summer day tend to chill out around the low 70's and even sometimes 60's.

This means earlier visits to the beach, parks, outdoor festivals, hiking, kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming, surfing, great eats, free concerts and much more!

For those intrested in living on Long Island, NY, Farmingdale is a great option. The types of homes located in Farmingdale, NY consists of single to multi-family homes, cond's, apartments, single level ranches, split levels and much more. The price range runs the gamete from $190,000 - $650,000. I have lived in Farmingdale Village community since 1984 and over the years I have seen this small town grow up and continue to evolve. In 2015, Farmingdale NY was voted as The Long Island Press Best Down Town Village in all of Long Island, NY.

Besides that, Farmingdale is within short miles to the local beaches, New York City and the mountains of Up State NY.  All you need to do is look up http://events.longisland.com/ and you will be provided with a wealth of activities to partake in year long.

Oh my!  I want oysters right this very minute!  They are one of my favorite things about Long Island.

What a life!

LI is great except for property taxes.

My brother in law sold their home and moved to Vegas. He told me there is nothing but rocks, and miss good summer and ocean fishing....

Long Island does sound like a great place to spend a bit of time Laura, hopefully I will get an opportunity to travel through there someday, and stop and say hello.

You paint a lovely picture of Long Island and Farmingdale.  I can taste the oyster, hear the music, and feel the sand between my toes!
