Music Center In Downtown Los Angeles California

When visiting Los Angeles California be sure to check out the Music Center Downtown and visit the Ahmanson Theater and Mark Taper Forum. You will see award winning entertainment such as with Father Comes Home From The Wars (hosted in the Mark Taper Forum).

From Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog) comes an explosively powerful new play set against the backdrop of the Civil War. Father Comes Home From The Wars mixes music, contemporary wit, and epic theatricality to tell a timeless story about the struggle to hold on to who we are and what we love in a country that forces us to fight battles we didn’t choose for ourselves. This production features a stellar cast led by Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson) and Michael McKean (Better Call Saul, This is Spinal Tap). Father Comes Home From The Wars is showing from April 5th - May 15, 2016. Tickets

Even if you can not arrange to see a play, ballet or opera preference, it's worth visiting, especially during dusk or evening time.

You even get to see a wonderful water show!

Thanks for sharing this Laura.  I don't see a trip to L. A. in the near future, but if I ever happen to get there I will definitely visit the Music Center and theaters.

Laura, I will have to stop on my next LA visit. OK...I am a bit of a NYC snob but other cities (Houston, Denver, Miami) have some awesome cultural options!

Hi Laura.  Sure would love to see this play, but it's just a bit too far away.
