New York Photos & Feng Shui: A Bird's Eye View.....by Feng Shui Long Island, New York

Not long ago on one of these beautiful days a client was gracious enough to walk back to Penn Station with me after a New York Feng Shui Consultation.  She asked why I would travel to New York City to do my Feng Shui Consultations when I live on Long Island.  I explained how much I love the City and that I felt the Energy was very different in NYC than on Long Island.  It can also be more challenging to do all the New York Apartments, Condos, Co-ops, Studios and Businesses because they came in so many sizes and shapes.  There are Feng Shui solutions to everything that are easy and inexpensive and I loved the opportunity of seeing so many different types of housing.

This was not a day for Feng Shui, however.  This particular day was, according to the weatherman, going to be a beauty.  As many of you know, I love to tell a story with pictures and these I hope will take you right with me-to the top of New York City.  Passing the Empire State building that morning, it occurred to my daughter that it had been many years since we had been up to the top; on a whim, we did just that.

It occurred to me later WHY I don't do this spectacular scene often-the WAIT.  On a weekday and during the morning hours, we still waited approximately two hours to get up---and another to get down.  Think of all the TIME I'm saving you : )

We literally took MANY pictures but here are some of my favorites and a View from the Top of the Empire State Building---a Bird's Eye View:

Carole- Oh my gosh, these photos are spectacular. Amazing, wonderful. Thank you for sharing the view. I would suggest to make them bigger, not so small so we can get a larger view and feel the scenes more.

I loved the tour and the great pictures.  I have some clients who are relocating and I feel like I know exactly what they are talking about because of your blogs.

Carole,

WoW, what beautiful photos of truly awesome views!  I have a picture of my Grandfather taken atop the Empire State Building in the 60s, although I've never been up there myself.....I've never even been to NYC.  I'm hoping to visit there sometime this year or next at the latest.

Thanks so much for sharing these photos......next best thing to being there.  Gee, a two hour wait....it looks like it's worth it though.

Hi Carole- Isn't it nice to enjoy something "on a whim".  Many of the best times we have with our kids is the activity that is/was spontanious.  Nice pictures...I like the bird having a "birds eye view" LOL   that is precious......

Hi Carole...I was born in Queens but never went up in the Empire State Building until a few years ago.  It was wonderful.  So are your pictures.

Thanks for sharing.

There is something about dense urban living that many will never understand.  There is an energy that permeates the air, and it's sometimes indescribable.  Great photos!  Thanks for the tour.

Thanks for sharing these Carole.  I am deathly afraid of heights and wouldn't be able to take them even if I was there in person.  I feel quite safe living through your beautiful photos :)

Hi Carole,

Love the pictures!! The skyline is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I think it is fogging just rolling out.

Gosh, I say it must be bad Feng Shui to wait that many hour in front of an elevator, all your energy would go up the shaft and then down the shaft, leaving one very confused! LOL

Carole, I love this post and your photos from the Empire State Bldg. The last time I visited it a few years ago I did the ride up the elevator at night and saw the night sky. It was great. My perspective on the ground as an adult, the Empire State Bldg didn't seem as near as tall as when I was a child.

Tom, Thank you, I am too as you can tell.  I'm glad you liked the shots.

Katerina, Thank you, I still have a difficult time with photos and made them larger as I went along...I'll get there and thanks for the advice.

Joan, Enough high rises for you?  I love it but was glad to be back at street level :)

Jo, I can't imagine the wait on weekends :)  And the crowds.  But it certainly is a "New York" thing to do and it's been SO many years!

Kathy, I try not to make plans on some trips to NY so I can just go with whatever comes up....and something always does :)  It was fun and a definite "view" :)

Kathleen, I didn't know you were born in Queens, my Aunt lived in South Ozone Park for many years and I loved it.  Glad you liked the pictures.

Jeff, That pigeon is not afraid of heights!  And he certainly gets around....I love the City anytime, there is always something wonderful to do!

Sally, Rooftop sunbathing, cookouts, you name it.  It can really be a lot of fun to watch and hopefully go to one one day....That has to be fun!

Cynthia, It really is.  People that haven't been here in many years don't realize how much it's changed!

Carol, There is absolutely a whole different energy and apparently one that I love.  I am happy on my Long Island beach days but I am always happier in the city!  It's nice that you understand it.

Lisa, I'm not afraid of heights, you wouldn't enjoy it then.  I am afraid of escalators but I almost fell off one, literally years ago.  I stay off them and people think it's unusual.

Joan, Make sure you tell me when you're coming...and I think you're right, you're the only one that caught that :)

Trace, I hope you liked the pictures but I have to say I believe it's smog as well....wish I could think it was just fog :)

Mary, That just might be what threw me off :)  Actually they create those long Disney type lines where you end up going no where fast :)  And it's the same going down, there's another wait! VERY Feng Shui unfriendly.

Rosario, The day was perfect weather wise, it was nice up there and nice to be back down to earth again :)

Teri, It is truly a treat...once every 5 years or so but I believe it's been MUCH longer since I've been up there.

Gary, It still seems high to be though I do remember going up as a child as well.  I don't think I was that amazed back then, I might have been too young to really enjoy it.

Maureen, You are SO sweet for thinking of me with this post and I had mistakenly joined that group--but it is for Realtors ONLY (so I'm not allowed in).  But thank you for thinking of it.

Nancy, Thank you....you have to get to New York someday...and go to Central Park!!  You will love the city.
