It's Time to put Your Feng Shui INTENTIONS Into Everything You Do!...by Feng Shui Long Island & New York

We ALL know we have been Spring Cleaning....it was such a long winter for so many of us; fact is we couldn't WAIT to start shedding the old.  In Feng Shui we always let go of the old to allow the NEW and positive Energy IN.....and that's exactly what we all need right now, a Good dose of FENG SHUI.

Chinese Feng Shui Long Island

One of the things I believe that is misunderstood most in Feng Shui is that it's not necessarily the big changes you are making that will make a difference to your lives and the quality of them.  It is often the small, simple things we do, something they are just the things we do on a regular basis.

If you believe at all in THE SECRET or The Law of Attraction, Intention is just another word for it that we've been using for YEARS to create the lives we've been looking to create.  But often we forget the most important thing when making ANY changes in our surroundings:  Putting our INTENTIONS into EVERYTHING we do.  It's certainly simple enough and it absolutely can't hurt-give it a try.

Feng Shui Eyes Feng Shui Long Island

Whether it's a bigger Springtime job you are undertaking (like the Garden), use visualization to picture and actually SEE more abundance in your life.  Or if you're doing something simple like dusting, see it as a way of cleaning out stagnant energy and infusing new and positive energy while you are doing it.  Your surroundings really do have a deep and profound impact on our lives; Professor Lin Yun says that INTENTION into the changes accounts for about 80% of the changes we are likely to see, while the actual change itself accounts for only 20%  --  Pretty high statistics and something definitely worth investing in.  It won't cost you a penny and maybe just a few minutes of your time.

Think about adding your Intentions to ANYTHING that you are doing-and there are SO many things we do each day we are likely to just breeze through them without thinking.  Try getting some Feng Shui EYES for this, clean everything with the Intentions of cleaning out the old and unuseful to bring in more of what you need and want.  Truly cleaning out and lightening up by selling things or donating them create even MORE room---think about it.  It can't hurt and you WILL feel better!

I have the deepest respect for Forest Gump who was SO right when he said "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know WHAT you're going to get."  But your favorites are in that box as well....put your order in for them and they'll come along, probably when you're least expecting it.  I love surprises and bet you do, too.

Hi Carole...you were whispering in my ear today..I came home after a slow Realtors tour, and started on my office, I really got a lot done put past sales in files, dumped unwanted paper to the recycling box, filed paid invoices, and cleared my desk, just need to dust, and I'm done, Looks good, I'm waiting to see if my wife notices.

Love Forest Gump and his saying about the choices in Chocolates and you are so right there are good one there too....Aren't they all good, just some are better then others?

Carole,

Great, practical advice, as usual.  The only limits we have are those that we place upon ourselves.   Thanks!

Carole,

Thanks to you and the other posts you've written on de-cluttering and clearing out the stuff we no longer need or really want, I've been making major changes around place in recent weeks. I cleared out my closet and dressers of all clothes that I never wear and don't really like or don't suit me (8 bags full) and did a total cleaning of my desk to the point where it is now extremely bare.

I love it!!  And I can feel the energy flowing all around me now already so I'm very excited to continue on into all areas of my living space. It feels just like shedding an old winter coat or an old skin that I've worn for far too many years.

You're the best!

Hi Carole,
Clearing and cleaning always invigorates me!  I've done some already but there is more that I need to get done.   Bring on the positive energy!

My Mom, Bless her soul, used to hum happily while sweeping the floor or doing mundane housework or whistle while cooking - once I asked her how she could enjoy these repetitive yet necessary tasks and she said everything I do big or small, important or not, I do for God. Thanks for sharing this post Carole brought back fond memories - I plan to get the remainder of the Spring stuff done in the next few days - I think I will hum :)

Sincerely,

Grace

Good advice. There is something about spring and its promise of renewal that envigorates us. Use that energy wisely.

This spring is definitely a time of release of the old for me and a reinvigoration of my being. I donated a couple of hundred books to my local library yesterday as I decided to release the cobwebs and years of dust that had been accumulating. You see I am relocating to Knoxville, Tennessee and have decided that I not only do not want to lug around all that stuff, but I also want and need a fresh, unencumbered start in this new place. While there is stuff that will be going with me, the good and important stuff, I have sold or donated more than half of my possessions. Now this spring has really seen a spring cleaning for me! Your articles are a breath of fresh air, thanks!

Carole, it is so true that with just a little effort and "intention" we can improve the energy of a place. My desk constantly goes into the piles mode, and I have to daily or weekly get the energy back into it by de-cluttering. I just find my time going somewhere else (maybe blogging??) : )

Keep up your excellent tips on Feng Shui. You are so right on the money ALL the time!!

Carole:  It's been my experience that clutter definitely detracts from positive energy.  I'm all for cleaning it out.  Great post and one that has special meaning for me at this time.  Thank you.

Carole:  Thanks for the words of wisdom.   I love the idea of cleaning out the old and unuseful to bring in more of what I need and want.   I think it will be part of mantra for the next couple of weeks.

Fred, I'm glad to hear that, I bet you feel so much better!  My office is the one place I don't take care of as often as I should but I always feel wonderful when it's cleaned out from top to bottom!

Eric, That is so true, I wish more people realized it.  Cleaning out the old definitely helps and I love new Energy :)

Jo, It feels the same to me, I have been getting rid of things I no longer love or want...and an entire closet of clothes.  I wonder what I was thinking when I bought so many :)

Cynthia, There is always more :(  You finish up one thing and realize another area needs cleaning up or cleaning out.  It never seems to stop!

Grace, I think that's a wonderful way to look at it....and it turns chores into better intentions.  When they speak of the energy of food they are SO right, I think about the meals cooked with love as opposed to the TV dinners when there was no time.

Rosario, The Chinese say you are only born with a certain amount of energy....and we die when it's gone.  Using it wisely is absolutely the key!

Rich, I wish you good luck in your move, I know what a difficult decision it must be.  I often think if I left what I would want to take with me and it actually amounts to very little.....because like you I would want to start fresh as well and would love to be surrounded by all new things.  Funny that there is not alot here that really has that much meaning anymore and I also believe it's good.  Good luck on your move!

Gary, We are ALL blogging too much.  It has to stop for me for a while because I have so much going on---and they are GOOD things!  But I feel so good when my house is clean and the ouside is well taken care of.

Donna. I know I feel better and my clients do as well when they clean out--I keep reminding them to put their intention behind the cleaning to double the Energy of it.

Kathy, Thank you for your comment, I am betting the more you clean out the more you will want to keep going :)  I know I get those attacks and when they're done I feel wonderful---and exhausted :)

Hi Carole,

Very nice post. It really has this girl thinking!! When I am cleaning I am just cleaning mindlessly but not any longer I  will be thinking about what I am doing.

Hi Carole, You aren't saying anything that I haven't already been thinking.  I need to clear out so much but get so busy and overwhelmed by the thought of it.  I wish you would come to CA and just do it for me! :o)  Now that I have read the post, I will take the time to do a couple of small things that aren't too overwheming.  Thanks for the reminder.

Hmmm... never thought of putting a Feng Shui twist on housecleaning ~ maybe my positive thoughts will actually help me move a lil faster, or (gasp) actually find enjoyment in it?! I can't imagine...but its worth a try!

Carole, You said it: "In Feng Shui we always let go of the old to allow the NEW and positive Energy IN"... and truly believe in it.

From a simple cleaning, dusting rearranging the furniture, planting new flower in your garden (or even placing boxes with little flowers on the kitchen window sill)... all of those bring an fresh air and felling of new energy impossible not to embrace. Changing the decor, cleaning and dusting is great for any beginning of seasons... specially SPRING.

Carole,

I just finished cleaning out my basement and I can't believe how much better I feel about everything. It was just a big pit of stagnant energy that was dragging me down.
