Best Hikes In California - Runyon Canyon

Runyon Canyon Park is one of the more famous parks for day hiking. The views are magnificent, allowing you to see all of Los Angeles, the 'Hollywood' sign and miles of mountain ranges. This is a free park to check out and dog friendly too.

As you enter and exit, you are greeted with a snack stand. This stand is honor role only, allowing the community to purchase water, chips, dog cookies and other goodies.

Laura, it is so great for communities to have parks where there is room to hike and admire the urban scenery.  So is there a west coast business in the making with all the time you are spending in the LA area, Laura?

Hello Laura.  Along with the hike it is so nice to be seeing more and more of this 'honor' system working.  Mark

That's great that the snakcs and drinks are on the honor roll system. It proves that some people can still be trusted. I love it. I would enjoy this hike on a cool day just to see the hollywood sign.

Runyon Canyon park sounds like a great place for a little bit of exercise and fun with your dog.

I like the self service refreshment stand too, with doggy treats.
