What a wonderful time to try a new restaurant! Do this do this every year at the same time? If so, I plan to make a note to myself. That would be a great time to plan a visit.
Very neat idea for the industry to put together, Carole, and a great way to get to try those pricey eateries without breaking the bank. You must give us a report on which ones you go to!
p.s. LOVE the restaurant you helped with - it's beautiful!
Hi Carole!
I guess it would be a great time to explore all of those restaurants that have a variety of vegtarian dishes....I love Thai food, especially since I can't have gluten and their noodles are made with rice flour.
The Louis XVl restaurant looks heavenly...I can picture wearing a beautiful french, high-wasted silk gown there and carrying a parasol.
Very wonderful blog!!

Cynthia, They have this every year at just about the same time, it's really wonderful. I love to try out new places, last year I went to One if by Land, Two if by Sea and it was great! I'm going to try to go to one of our local ones this year right on Long Island.
Sally, I love this time, it gives me a chance to try something I wouldn't have known about...and you can check the ratings and menus to see if it's something you would like!
Kim, They have some of those on the menu, where you can order sample sizes of different foods. That is a lot of fun, I agree with you but it's not at all places.
Lisa, It is so cold here I'm going to stay on the Island this year...although I usually like to go to New York City for this. I had to be VERY careful with that restaurant although I loved doing it...it was already rated in Zagat's for best food Best DECOR :) If I find the picture of that I will post it.
Jo, There is one gluten free restaurant in all of Manhattan and I've heard they have wonderful food. It's in the Village. When you come to NY we can go and you can eat anything on the menu! :) The restaurant was a fabulous job, it's just magnificent and right on the water.
Joan, It's so cold in NY I don't feel like being out there---but I will anyway! I can imagine you're having the same weather if not worse!
Deborah, The restaurant is beautiful and the kitchen was tremendous---and immaculate. I saw what the issues were and the owner made the changes within two days and is doing very well! You absolutely would love to try some of these places, many of highly rated and pretty famous.
Wang, Thank you---I think :)
Julie, There are many to choose from, that's for sure. I wish it would warm up a bit but it's not predicted to....
Kathy, It is fun to try new places, I have so many favorites I find that I always go back to them..it's not such a good idea but this gives me an opportunity to try some new ones that might become favorites :)
Jennifer, It is one of my favorite times, I love to eat out! I usually head to the City but think I'll stay on the Island this year and try one out here.
Melissa, Thank you...I hope people see it who might not have known about it otherwise, I've missed it in the past--and it goes by so quickly!
Keith, Good, I hope she can take advantage of it and try a place she might like. It's all over the City so she shouldn't have a difficult time finding something in her area. Thank you for your comment.
Diane, I'm actually surprised your town doesn't have it, it's wonderful for the restaurants because if you like it you'll go back and great for us to try out new places.
Sal, I did go to One if by Land, Two if by Sea...it was wonderful. But there are so many on the list it's going to be difficult to choose. Have fun and a wonderful dinner or lunch!
Donna, I will...I am going to look for a sample place but I don't know how far ahead they are booked, I know some places sell out early.
Candy, I wish you were, too! It's going to be a difficult decision :)
Hi Carole,
Nice post! I would love to be in New York to try out all the restaurants! Food....the way to this girls heart!!
