Milestones. It's funny that we can't remember all of ours but I have profound memories of all my children's milestones and was fortunate to be there to see almost every single one of them. Actually, my son's first steps were caught on our video camera. We were filming outside that day and got his very first steps on tape. You can still hear the thrills of our voices on it.
My daughter was speech delayed and while I don't have her first words on video, I remember it SO clearly. I had determined that this child had gotten away with pointing too long and if she wanted something, she was going to have to ASK for it...and when I finally won, it was because she desperately wanted Cheerios (which came out something like Cheero). It wasn't Mama or Dada but she was talking!
Back at 100,000 points I posted about having a small write up (actually a note of recognition I wrote to someone was published) in Woman's Day. She was someone who first told me of Feng Shui and encouraged me to look into it. I was hoping Deborah Rose would find the article or my post:
100,000 Points and One HECK of a Journey: DETERMINATION....A Feng Shui Story
Instead, I had this shocking email come to me; it was from my long lost cousin who had moved away 14 years ago and we had lost contact not long after.
You Can't Always Get What You WANT.....by Feng Shui Long Island
I did not know how she was doing or what she'd been doing for many years. She did not know I had become a Feng Shui Consultant although she has an interest in it--and just happened to be reading Woman's Day Magazine that morning.
I had the absolute blessing of reconnecting with family just over the holidays. I not only got to see my cousin but her husband and daughter along with her sister (another cousin) and her husband. I thought to have it at my mother's house so she could see them as well and my other Aunt and my children showed up. It was a wonderful reunion and you would have thought we'd all seen each other yesterday! My children were able to meet their second cousin and we've even discussed trying to get the entire family together for a whole reunion. What a nice thought! I was very close to my cousin Mary, we have stayed at each other's houses growing up and while we remembered some of the same things, we also had some different memories of so many occasions it was difficult to fit it into the day...They were only visiting here from Virginia.
When I hit ‘submit' on this post, it should be my 200th post....another milestone. And I wonder what I had to SAY through so many posts. But I couldn't think of anything nicer to post then a reunion with someone I love so much....Thank you, Couz; and Thank YOU, Activerain for allowing me to post this!

Carole,
Congratulations, my friend! The milestones are great, but the memories are greater. I hope your family will stay well connected now that that common thread has been found and that you all will share many, many memories.
Thank you for sharing your milestones and memories with us!
Carole,
I think the older we get, the more we appreciate family or so it seems to me. Guess there is something true about blood is thicker than water.
Congratulations on your 200th post. I'll be here cheering you on when you reach 300 so get going. :0)
Congratulations my fair friend!
How very nice to get reconnected with your cousin and to share it here. What a great shot of you two - you appear to never have been parted! Your top is a beautiful color(s) and great on you.
Cheers on your milestone - it turns out we have plenty to say!
Carole, congratulations on all the happy events in your life!
"Milestones". You made me pause and think this morning, thank you for that.
Hi Carole,
Congratulations on your 200th post way to go!! Thanks for sharing! It is nice to see that you have reconnected with your cousin.
Jo, Thank you for the flowers! I was thrilled to see both my cousins, we had SO much fun! We are thinking to try and get the whole family together again at least once---that would be a LOT of people. I can't imagine how much fun that would be :)
Carol, Thank you, we are keeping in close contact with phone calls and emails, it definitely won't happen again. And you're very right, the memories are sweeter!
Kathy, Thank you for the kind words. I am having so much trouble getting pictures on my posts for some reason and I have so many I wanted to share. That will prevent me from writing so I will have to call someone in for an overhaul on this computer. SOME of my older posts were good, some were Awful :) I don't even want to go back and look :)
Sally, I LOVE your little 'happy guy/girl' ! These pictures certainly light up my posts. I wonder when I will be all written out :)
Kathy, It's hard to believe, I know. I wonder how many hours that translates to :) If my computer problems persist I won't be posting at all :(
Sonia, Thank you so much, I wish the very same for you, a year filled with blessings.
Susan, Thank you for your comment. This site was an amazing find for me, I never knew I had so much to say :)
Cynthia, Many things that have been coming up for me I believe are age related---being happier and finding more beauty in everything. I think we gain more of an appreciation as we go along--for everything.
Lisa, We have no fairs here now, you'll have to go and report back on yours! And send some warm weather up this way :)
Curt, It is funny, two other people mentioned that they happened to see me in there--one was a lovely woman who has been helping me with my insurance claim and called to tell me--she never knew what I did for a living :)
Joan, We are all so connected, it's wonderful to see it! My cousin had ordered that magazine because she had to choose a subscription--good choice, we can't believe what it led to!
Eloise, I was so fortunate to have been able to see their milestones, they are certainly thrilling moments that you never forget. Having captured some on video is priceless. This was my milestone, I never, ever thought I had that many posts in me :)
Deborah, Thank you, it felt like we never parted! We sure had some wonderful memories to share and my other cousin didn't forget a thing! What a wonderful surprise that was as well. I have to say this year is starting off very well on many levels!
Kris, There are many and many of them are forgotten, isn't that a shame? AR is like my online diary---that's what I was thinking the other day. An account of where I've gone, what I'm thinking...I believe it is like that for many of us.
Teri, Thank you! The next 200 seem very far off, I need to get to work on developing my new website; maybe that's why my pictures aren't loading on here, it's trying to tell me something :)
Congratulations on your 200th post! WOW! I have enjoyed them!
You are so fortunate to have your son's first step on video. So many times we don't have the camera handy when they do these cute things and special moments.
Hi Caole...what a great outcome from a small article! 200 eh! You make me feel like a newbie!
A lot of families set up a site on my space....so pictures and news can be posted. You may want to check into it!
Elizabeth, Thank you so much...I think I get all MY inspiration from all the wonderful members on here :) You are all very special people and this is a wonderful place to be. GBU (see what I picked up from you?)
Lola, Thank you so much for the lovely words. I have no idea how I made it this far but I love it here too much to leave :)
Candy, That was a wonderful day and my Grandmother had been holding his hand and let go...we were stunned and he continued to walk! It's also wonderful that she's in there, makes it even more special.
Joan, I thought you must have as many posts but haven't looked. I did set up a site on My Space but I don't do anything with it, I am signed up on so many sites I can't keep up but it's a wonderful idea for looking for someone, I hadn't thought of it for that!
Julie, You are always so sweet and positive, I'm sure every wonderful thing you do comes back to you multiple times! It was wonderful to see my Cousins again--none of us for quiet for a second :)
Diane, Thanks so much, Julie's comment applies to you as well! This is going to be one wonderful year for all of us (and then I can look back and say 'I told you so.' :)
Donna, What a beautiful saying, I have never heard that but that is exactly what I got! Roses in December. I will never forget that now, Thank You!!
Maria, I will try. Some of Feng Shui as you know is so complex you can't really get it accross in just a post but Thank you!
