Fast Fun Facts about the Praying Mantis

Praying Mantis are great to have around your Feng Shui garden because they are natural pest controllers. Their diet usually consist of Moths, crickets, flies, and other insects. However, the Mantis will not shy away from eating their own kind, so really no one is safe!
Men are extremely lucky to be human when it comes to creating more life...why you ask? If you were a adult male Mantis looking to reproduce with a female, she just may bit your head off, literally! This act of "love" takes place while or after matting. This is pretty extreme but, this behavior seems not to deter males from reproduction. hmmm hahaha :)
Have a blessed day!

Good Evening Carol and Laura
Thanks for the post. One of my favorite insects in my garden. The males? Have a great day.
Laura, What girl doesn't want to bite a mans head off!!
I had one of those leaf-like looking bugs in my outdoor sink. I asked my son to get the leaf out of the sink. When it moved he freaked. It took me, a woman to save the creature, and he gladly moved on! I wish I took a picture.
Great job capturing the photos of a rarely seen, but very welcomed insect.
Note to self: Never, ever get on the bad side of Ellen Caruso!!!
I don't know why but I never thought of these things in your area. We live on a beautiful valley where all sorts of wildlife range free but these creatures have always unnerved me a bit. Maybe it is the part about:
The praying mantis looks huge in that first picture... Great shot.
Wow -the bug that ate New York... lol. That first one looks like it's climbing the building!
A great looking mantis.
