And Now for Something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.....

Well, it's not that different but it's not Feng Shui. Well, not exactly. But it IS about your ENERGY.  I have mentioned in previous posts that I use an Energy Healer and wondered if any of you use alternative types of medicine?  Yes, I do see doctors when I have to, of course, but my experience in the field of alternative methods of healing have helped so many people including curing "incurable" cases of cancer and run the gamut through all types of healing for almost anything you may have that is causing dis-ease.

Some of the methods I am familiar with do not work for everyone, but these are some of the alternative methods of treatment I have seen work and why I believe they do.  A case in point relates once again to what you will find in The Secret.  Before a practitioner would work with a patient, they would need to help change their thinking.  Many people came into the center as a "desperate" measure, they had been told, simply, that there was nothing that could be done for them from a physician's standpoint or they came in because the treatments were so invasive and harmful themselves they could no longer bear them.

They were heartbroken and defeated.  In the Wholistic Center that I worked in (We used the "W" to show we were speaking of a "whole" person), they incorporated the Mind AND Body, something that wasn't spoken much of or used years ago.  Long before we had Deeprok Chopra and Dr. Dyer speak on these things.  Patients were seeking hope and assurance and these practitioners loving gave it to them, to advise them about their own personal energy and their ability to help heal themselves along with their help.

I have seen Acupuncture used, Traditional Chinese Medicine (where they could accurately diagnos your illness by looking at your tounge), biofeedback, homeopathic remedies and a form of massage that was very powerful called "Amma Therapy."  There are also Medical "Intuitives" who can pick up your energy and "see" what's wrong with you and what form(s) of treatment might best help you.  Had I not seen these patients, I wouldn't have believed not only the change in attitude but their change in HEALTH.  They became well, whole and vibrant human beings again who regained their ability to laugh, play and have fun while at the same time, HEAL.  They KNEW, they could feel it on some level.  And their doctors were astounded when they went back and got "normal" readings or they were "cured" or on their way to getting there.  Yet they still didn't, and don't for the most part, believe in wholistic care.

More then likely, if you think back to when you became ill or just before it, you will see that for one reason or another, things were not going well in your life and you were unhappy.  Or you were running at such a fast pace and didn't take the time to slow down, depsite "warning signals" that we manage to ignore and illness arrives.  IF YOU DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO SLOW DOWN WHEN YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD, SOMETHING WILL COME ALONG AND KNOCK YOU OFF YOUR FEET--making you slow down.

There are other types and methods of Energy Healing which I have not mentioned here, including what I used which helped me gain insight into WHY I became ill which is very empowering.  When you realize WHY you have called this into your life, you can turn things around and change them with the help of some very gifted people.  I will explore that more in another post.

With the exception of a very few who allow only  certain, short term methods of alternative treatments to be used, for the post part if you are in need of some "special healing" you are left on your own to pay for it.  And it might just be the best money you ever spent....without good health, there is nothing else.  Your OWN energy, your own CHI is the most important factor in determining your health.  Had I not seen the pure power of energy, the law of attraction, intention and a different way of thinking I would have not realized how profoundly we are affected by our surroundings as well.

If you are in pain, have a chronic illness or something the doctors can't seem to find despite their probing and tests or if you are told there is "nothing that can be done for you"  I urge you to explore some alternative methods of treatment.  And if you have experienced or used some wholistic ways to heal, I would love to hear about it.  But Never, EVER give up or accept a diagnosis that you cannot become well again.  There are many "miracles" out there and one of them just might have YOUR name on it!

I do reiki - only took level one, because the Master who was providing it said that I didn't need any more because I'd been doing it all my life just didn't have that name for it.  Not professionally, but on my family and some friends and my animals.  I, and a couple of my animals, have been accupunctured - amazing stuff.  (The animals really, really like it, too, which I can understand, knowing how I felt after a treatment.  They REALLY like seeing the accupuncturist the second time, once they know what to expect.)  I'm also a certified equine sports massage therapist - again, only use it on my own critters and those of friends.

One must always get permission from someone one is treating - it's an ethics thing - and understand that any energy healing is only providing the energy for the individual's body to work with itself.  If it (or they) doesn't want to use it for some reason, as you say, it won't happen.  And not every modality works for everyone.  The trick is to find what works for you.

My father - a very conservative man - SWEARS by accupuncture for shoulder and back pain.  I myself use massage for recurring shoulder pain.  The kicker is that I saw a chiropractor for MONTHS to treat the shoulder pain, with little change.  Then I saw a masseuse for a $15, 15 minute chair massage, and she cured me immediately!  I'm not saying chiropractors are bad, but I look back and see that he did not listen to me at all during our first consultation, because if he did, he would have known what the problem was just like the masseuse did.

Carole - I have a few health issues that cause chronic pain and extreme fatigue.  I had tried all the conventional 'methods' of treatment - every doctor in the directory, every med that I wasn't allergic to - all to little or no avail.

A friend recommended Reiki and at first I was skeptical.  She is a Master in the practice and convinced me to try it.  I am SO glad I did.  I can get a minimum of a weeks relief from each session.

There are many tried and true methods of healing that science can't define, thus they dismiss them as quack remedies.

Very informative, beautiful and helpful post, Carole. I'm so glad you are wrote about this.

A few years back a study was done with heart cells.  Living heart cells from the same heart were placed in two petri dishes. The petri dishes were then separated by miles and stress was placed on the cells in one of the dishes.  The cells in the other dish (ie. the one that were not having stress inflicted on them) showed the same stress response as the ones in the dish that were having the stress inflicted on them.  The space apart was really non-existent except in human awareness.   We are all healers, it only takes absolute faith and love and a willingness to do so. If there is a shadow of a doubt, it won't be as effective . Always it  comes back to the same three things~Faith, Hope, Love

Tricia, Thank you very much for the information, I have had Reiki treatments myself and found them extremely helpful!  I also think it is wonderful that you can help and heal animals that way, we have very, very few vets here who are familiar with wholistic health although I have heard of it reducing or elimating pain in them as well.  Since you are helping people, why not think of doing it professionally?  Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

Tiffany, Acupuncture did not work for me but I have seen it help many, many people.  Amma therapy (massage based on pressure points) was a great benefit to me, however.  As Tricia stated, not every therapy works for everyone but I'm glad you've both found help in natural methods.  Thanks for your comment.

Carol, that is wonderful to hear.  All these treatments are non-invasive and once you've tried them, you can often see they can help you without unnecessary medications.  Thanks for stopping by.

Jo, I read with interest the study of the heart cells, I had not heard of it but understand it completely as well as distance healing which is what I received.  Energy goes where it is directed.  When I was working in the Wholistic center they allowed me to audit classes on wholistic health and one of the assignments was to read "The Secret Life of Plants."  It opened my eyes to many things I was not familiar with at the time...at least, not on that level.  I have been treated by it and had my mother treated as well and can say it helped us both.  Thanks for writing about the heart study and for your lovely comment.

Carole, I've studied and am certified in several modalities that I don't do professionally, but explored for their personal value to me.  (If something works for me, I want to get to the bottom of it!) Most of them I've been doing for, oh, 12-15 years now, and made the conscious decision not to do them professionally - I do other things for my profession.

Another great post Carole! I'd like to check out the Reiki type of massage. There is quite a bit of truth to being able to heal ourselves with our thoughts. I no longer have sinus infections. I used my thoughts to see myself as never having them. Years ago I used to get a disabling one every Sept. I simply erased that thought.

I have used and been trained on a variety of alternative healing methods over the past ten years, and have benefitted from the experiences.  There is so much for us to learn!

About a month ago, a fellow Realtor emailed me about a new system that she discovered called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).  It's a self-help technique, based on accupressure and aligning the energy systems of the body.  I've been using EFT for several weeks now,  and am delighted with how easy it is to use and the results that I've been getting.  There's a short video on the web site (emofree.com) you can preview to get more information.

Tricia, It is a wonderful knowledge to have and I see particularly helpful to you with your love of animals. I'm sure the people you treat are very grateful!  Thank you again for the comment.

Lizette, Reiki is not a massage therapy, it is an Energy treatment.  From what I know of it healing energy is directed to you by the healer (mine calls herself the "facilitator").  I have only used it on a few occasions but I felt MUCH better.  And have a friend that swears by it.  Thanks for your comment.

Dru, Thank you, I have heard of that in the last few years although I haven't yet tried it.  I will go to learn more about it as I've heard from people who have used it and felt they benefitted from it.

Before my real estate career, I was a Reiki Master/Teacher in Chicago and I loved it! When I moved to Northwest Indiana, it just didn't seem like there was quite the same demand for the service. (I hope that changes!)

Although I very much enjoy being a Realtor, I can't begin to describe how much I loved doing Reiki. I think I would have paid my clients to let me work on them--since as the healer, the energy passes through you and you get the benefits as well. :)

I learned a form of massage called Reiki-ssage from the Reiki Council in the western suburbs of Chicago, as well as another modality called Reiki Reflex, which blended Reiki with reflexology. Straight Reiki remains my all-time favorite though.

I have performed Reiki on several of my real estate clients; it has had it's practical applications... Once I was preparing for an open house in a home where a couple who was soon to be divorced was residing. The energy was very jumbled, so I took a few minutes to do an energy cleanse before opening the doors to the public. A few weeks ago I was at a closing where my first time buyer cramped up when it came time to sign the mortgage document that shows what the total amount of his payments will be at the end of 30 years. (Who wouldn't get a little weak at that figure?!?) Anyway, I stopped in the middle of the proceedings and took time to do some Reiki Reflex on his hand and all was good again.

These days, my best and most frequent client is my Black Labrador Retriever, named guess what? Reiki!

There are energies and forces at work that we have yet no idea of. I have been discovering such relationships between science and energy that I never thought possible but are proving themselves in my own body!!

I recently became aware of the interactions and relatedness between Kundalini and neuroscience for example, that I totally relate to, and which I have put to the test with great results.

Many scientific discoveries are currently being made that will blow us away, but will take quite some time to get attention because they are natural. Anything natural of course isn't on board with BIG PHARMA, which in turn controls medicine to a great degree.

We are evolving. Slowly.

John and Kathy, If you are a Reiki Master you are thoroughly familiar with Energy and the power of it; it never ceases to amaze me!  I know what you mean about the healing coming back to you and what just a few minutes of Reiki can do for someone.  I've had it myself and just had a client who was experiencing terrible pains in her legs.  She is a young woman and no one could find out what was wrong with her.  She had three Reiki sessions and it was gone.  I'm sorry there's not enough interest there, it's totally non invasive and helps so much!

Deborah, At a corporation I did there were scientists there and I was very apprehensive.  And they were amazingly receptive which I didn't realize.  Science is finally proving "theories" that are 5,000 years old.  And yes, it is a slow process but it wouldn't have even been thought of ten years ago so at least we are getting there.  BTW, Kundalini Yoga is said by some to help replace energy---The Chinese say it's only Tai Chi that can do this but I've been reading (and hearing) differently in the last few years.

It is so true Carole - they are proving ancient theories and wisdom - and they are apparently very open - isn't that just fabulous!?

I'm not taken at all with Kundalini yoga or yoga itself - it is not for everyone and not for me except for some modified movements that work for me and which I do on my own.

Kundalini energy is a fascinating natural and very powerful energy flow, which can have (seemingly) devastatingly destructive effects on mind and body. In fact I have found it to be a merciless force that systematically - and wisely burns everything in its' path. It is a force of life renewal, which once understood, can be eased and treated effectively, understanding neuroscience - a whole new field - or is it really OLD? ;) - of understanding.

The force of Kundalini fire energy is most prevalent at midlife - and while it is a natural flow, may be bidden, altered, even stopped, to varying degrees.

I have found understanding the effects of amino acids very effective in aiding the effects of Kundalini fire - this is the neuroscience understanding and application
