I think it is more like a cow's eye.
The first is a horse's eye. They do have a unique shaped pupil. The second must be the barn...
I'm going to echo everyone else's guess and say the first one is a horse's eye and the 2nd one is his home!
Georgina, Steve, Jane, Michael and Craig the answer is yes the first photo is of a horses eye :)
The Second photo is industrial, it is of the outside Subway system in Queens New York looking above.

Minutes too late. I would have said Horse Eye and barn ceiling. But with the answer I recall it too from many years of commuting, subway!
