In Feng Shui you need to be aware of What or Who is backing you up in Life?...
Feng Shui has many methods and theories. One of them are known as the Form School which is the oldest method of Feng Shui and was originally used to find the most auspicious placement for burial grounds. It eventually evolved onto finding the best building locations for the living.
This Method of Feng Shui helps with assessing the environment through forms such as rivers, mountains etc..that surround you home or business. Auspicious animals, which include the Phoenix, Turtle, Dragon and White Tiger, are also used to help with providing more support and protection to your life.

I recently did a Feng shui consultation in Hicksville NY and an interesting situation was brought to my attention.
My client Alicia of Long Island NY mentioned she is studying to become a layer in NYC and is very focused and hard working. She shared with me that her boss has been extremely negative towards her and makes her feel like "nothing." The interesting set up to this story from a Feng Shui perspective is that she told me the lay out of her desk location in the New York City office. There are not cubicles, just desks. I asked, where in relation do you sit from your boss. She replied "o my boss sits behind me."

Alicia basically stated that her boss, the one who criticizes her, makes her feel like "nothing" and dis-encourages her skills in the office and for her future... is who backs her up at work (and a portion in life). Your work relates to your home and vis verse. This is the type of individual you do not want to have sitting behind you.
In Part two I will share how to address such people in your life, again every situation is different.
So who or what is backing you up?

Thanks for the very interesting info and the nice pictures. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Carole and Laura,
Very nice post, so much in Feng Shui makes sense and definitely when applied to furniture placement looks natural. Thanks for sharing this applicable and ancient wisdom. All the best.
Very interesting -- think I will attempt to employ several of your suggestions.
Hi Laura,
Good to see this. I just created a new office and gave my old one to my assistant. What about having windows behind my desk(cornered) with a beautiful view of a creek and trees to my right? To the left as I sit, there is a large floor to ceiling art piece that fills the wall.(maybe that is my mountain?)
Laura, I remember reading your post about your suggestion of placing some sort of pictures of mountain behind where a person sits. I have a window right behind where I sit, it is trees right outside the window. I hang my 2 daughters' painting on each side of the wall. I am not sure I am doing it right or wrong, but I feel balanced. :)
Carole and Laura: Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I was first introduced to Feng Shui 11 years ago when I get into the Real Estate biz. Since then I have had ever office I work in Feng Shui. It all makes sense to me. I think it's time to have my home Feng Shui-ed. Have a great weekend.
Great post Laura and it looks like you put a lot of work into it, I like the drawings and keep those posts coming!

Laura, interesting stuff. I need to get the book "A Westerners Guide to Feng Shui"...
Laura, this is a good illustration, your post after this was a good example of a restaurant being on the water.
Many years ago, I had a boss like your client. Luckily, his office was across the hall from me. Still, I couldn't stand him and quit.
William, Her situation was interesting but the solution can work, for her case it will have to be more of a mental/will power strength because she needs to stay as this job temporally.
Ron and Alexandra, Feng Shui is amazing, each and every detail :)
Trish, we always encourge to try new things, let me know how it works out.
Lizette, what is the picture of behind you?
