Summer time is approaching... and quickly There are a variety of Long Island NY Towns and Villages along the North Shore that always has summer events running all season long. One of the Long Island towns you can visit is Oyster Bay NY. You can learn about the rich history of Oyster Bay by visiting the Sagimore Hill Museum which was a summer home to President Theodore Roosevelt. If you choose to just kick around town you will come across unique shops, stores and restaurants that cook up some really great seafood.
One of the local events they have every Tuesday from 5pm to Sunset during the summer seasons in Oyster Bay is the Car Show. Celebrities who live on Long Island New York have been known to attend this evening event such as Billy Joel.

Laura, One of my best friends grew up in the town next to Oster Bay but I couldn't tell you the name. Amazing that they have a car show every Tuesday. We love to sail so I'm sure we would love Oyster Bay.
Hello Laura and thank you so much for keeping Carole's spirit alive at AR, and please post some material to some of my groups so I can feature the good ones. Just search groups by Robert Swetz, "Thanks"
VB ;-)
I would love to see one of those car shows too. I bet there's so much going on you couldn't possibly see it all. I'm glad to hear the service for Carole was a success.
Hi Laura...I really appreciate this post. A long, long time ago, way back in 1965 my former husband was offered a position in Oyster Bay. It was tempting especially for me as my family lived across the Sound in Stratford, CT. We moved to Houston instead but it's interesting to see the photos and information about this lovely spot.
It's good to see you blogging. Looking forward to more insightful posts from you.
Take care,
Kate
Hi Laura... I can feel your mom smiling as I read this. You've done her proud!
I've neve been to Oyster Bay. Looks like a fun place to visit. Love the look of that old "wood car".
Hi Laura -- so nice to see you here on AR and continuing to share your knowledge of feng shui as well as giving a tour of Oster Bay.
Laura, so glad that you will be keeping this wonderful blog alive and your mother's gift lives on through you. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
Neat pictures. Good that you are keeping Carole's blog going. The black car looks to be an old Chevrolet "Woody". Can't remember the year but I think it was late '30's...
Hi Laura, the 3 cars look like older corvettes but not sure :)
Wow, Oyster Bay DOES sound wonderful, Laura! I love those old cars - wish I could own every single one of them! Thanks, too, for continuing this blog - i know all of us in the Rain are smiling!
Laura, thank you for being my link to my old stomping grounds of Long Island! I love Oyster Bay! It's a great town right on the water. I especially loved attending the OysterFest when I lived on LI.
Marchel, It's a great place to visit and has so much history from the beginningof Long Island to the role it playedduring the civil war. The boats where zipping around that day, good wind for sailing :)
Hey Vegas Bob, but of course the is so much to explore, eventually I plan to travel and will be able to do a whole exploring the world blog :) I be sure to get great material for your groups.
Georgina,Yes her service was elegant and simple just the way she asked :) The had tons of cars to view and huge speed boats that were the size of two cars combined...crazy!
Thank you Kate. I'm gathering up some info for more Feng Shui Posts :) It's a great area on Long Island and full of wonderful scenery.
Steve, Thank you..and will continue to do my best, I'm excited to see what journeys I will be able to share...as she will always be by side every step of the way :)
Lizette, It a great place, if you ever in the area I do recommend to stop off in the town. :)
Joan, So much to explore and share, I'm excited to so :)
Kate B, thank you, as do I with you and all the other Activerainers :)
Craig, My mom has wanted to do a post about Nothport Long Island because she said that was the town you grew up in. When I do that post it will be deticated to you because she did not get the chance to write it :)

Hi Laura, I have heard of Oyster Bay because of the TR connection. Curious, what role did the town play in the Civil War?
Laura, I've wanted to visit the old Roosevelt home since reading a couple of TR biographies. Lots of poor animal heads - what does that do for the place's Feng Shui?
Laura - Thanks for sharing those pictures of Oyster Bay with us. I miss Long Island and NY in general too. I'm gone 16 years, but I'll always be a NYer at heart.
The station wagon was called a Woody but I do not know the year for this one Oyster Bay looks lovely. I just went by a huge car show on my way to the Twin Cities (MN) but no time to stop.
Laura,
I remember how much your Mom loved Oyster Bay and the many posts she wrote about it.
Your photos are beautiful!
