Speechless Sunday
When walking through Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon NY, Laura and I came across a variety of birds, mammal's, plants and other interesting sights.

Next time you take a stroll through the park or on the beach be sure to take time to appreciate the smaller things Nature has to offer! Laura and I shared this experience today :)
Surprise!! A hidden beautiful butterfly resting on the tree :)

How nice of this little butterfly to pose motionless for you!
Ann, Laura and I did not notice it for the longest time until it opened its wings to gather some sunlight for energy :)
Carole,
I'm always in awe of nature. I do try to always look at the surroundings for those little surprises.

Carole - that is the first thing I noticed in your first picture, and then the tree, which I thought might be a big rock. Ain't nature grand?
Now that is pure beauty ! Love those photos and those moments. Nature is just amazing. I need to get out more to appreciate it. Sometimes it is easy to take it for granted.
Carole, good things happen to those who wait with patience. I would not imagine the little creature is such a beautiful butterfly. Thanks for sharing!
Carole, How wonderful that you had this time with your daughter. It think those Mother/Daughter times area precious! With our daughter spending most of her time in NYC I don't get to spend much time with her. Last time she was home we went to the zoo and it was a fun day. She supposidly commutes but spends more time there than here.
Carole, those are some really nice colors on the butterfly. :)
I haven't seen a butterfly in a very long time. Great photo Carole!
If we all just slowed down a little bit, we'd be able to appreciate all the surprises that nature has bestowed upon us...much like you and Laura did on this walk in the park.
Carole--What a beautiful shot of a butterfly...yes somethings we do move to quickly to appreciate the beauty in the smaller things in this world.
What a gorgeous butterfly. My son knows all the names now because his Kindergarten class is studying butterflies. :-)
It's amazing what amazing sights you come across if you really look and don't just rush through your day. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Carole...I saw the butterfly on the tree in the top photo but and was so happy to see it spread its wings for you and us.

I love butterflies. I have a blue wingtip one that keeps visiting me on my front porch. I think of him as my good luck omen. Nice pictures, thanks for sharing!
I love butterflies. That is a nice picture of the butterfly. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Carole. Isn't it true that the BEST things in life are FREE and arrayed in beauty all around us, IF we'd take the time to LOOK.... It would make you forget your cares. Beautifully depicted!
Carole,
It's amazing what we can see when we slow down to take in everything. Great find and photo. :)
Steve

This is a post that I missed of Carole's and I wish she was around to read my comment, very beautiful butterflies Carole and I wish I would have had a chance to say "Goodbye"

"Take flight my sweet--the longest days are too short for thee to remain without spread wings; wings that will carry thee to a place unknown to anyone until last flight, with out-spread wings!"...Carole, you have touched us all with your sweetness and grace....take flight my sweet.
