The scope of Feng Shui is so far reaching, I wonder how many people realize it yet. Sometimes all it entails is difficult for ME to absorb. We know it's about Energy Flow, furniture placement, color choices, directions, objects we can use, different methods and schools and hundreds of topics and principles. Years ago in school the first thing we heard every morning was the word "Mindfulness." And to never forget that Feng Shui brings out the TRUTH.
Feng Shui starts with YOU and your lifestyle. If you want to get back what you put out, make sure you are putting out the very best. It's a Universal Law, I believe, that what goes around comes around. If you don't live by those words, how can you expect the wonderful things you want to create to come to you? We need to remember to always have respect and plain common courtesy to others, to value their opinions and beliefs (even if they differ from yours), to live a Lifestyle that is consistent with Feng Shui Principles in every aspect of your life. And to do it WITHOUT expectations.
It is, simply, to Do The Right Thing, to borrow a phase from our very own DENA STEVENS. The clients that have the most difficulties in having Feng Shui work are not forthright and upfront, honest, caring and empathetic in their relationships or the way they choose to live their lives. They are, thankfully, few and far between, but I have seen it over the course of my years. They should not expect wonderful things to come their way when they are not being the best person they can be in ALL areas.
How do YOU choose to live? Are you trying to find the bright spot even in a negative situation, are you doing what you can to help others, clients, friends, associates and even strangers? Are you, simply, Doing the Right Thing to everyone you come across while not losing yourself or neglecting yourself in the process? While we have all seen a share of negativity from certain people, I believe you will find that on ANY site and Activerain has so many more positive, helpful people then I have seen on other sites. I truly believe most of the people on here realize what an important principle this is and truly "Do the Right Thing." Not only for others, but for themselves as well.
When you think of Feng Shui, go to the core: The lifestyle you live, the random acts of kindness you provide others, your values. This is at the very heart of Feng Shui. If you've ever thought it was just decorating, it is about the TRUTH.

Beautiful post, Carole, and very illustrative of the true reasons behind Feng Shui. To me it is a way of bringing the physical into alignment with what is already happening in the spiritual or energy world around us. Like you said, so many people fail to 'get' that. The placement of furniture and colour choices , etc is really the icing on the cake, however without the cake, you have no icing !
I guess this is why it so important to do regular spiritual or subconscious housecleaning if we expect the changes we are making in the physical world to take hold and bring us a happier life. Like Sally said ~ wind-water.
JO
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Need I say more? Thought not. ROAR :)
TLW...ROAR!
Sally, Thank you for the comment. It wasn't until my children came that I finally began to speak up and be assertive for the first time in my life. But I believe I was always true to myself (in spite of what other people thought of me :)
Jo, I know we must do the internal cleaning out before the external but it's sometimes difficult to relay that to clients. You don't just want the good energy in your HOME, you want it in YOURSELF. Many times it's the most difficult thing for some people.
Dianne, Thank you for your comment. I think I should have started my posts very differently when I signed on....live and learn :)
TLW, Thank you for that wonderful ROAR. I HEARD IT this time! And love it!
Hi Carole...I too am digging into your posts, I struggle many times when ....as my Mum used to say "when someone does you Dirt" I wrestle with fighting back, getting even and just being negative...but none of this helps, it's just frustration, that can end quickly with positive thoughts. Like Michael Losier teaches us in his book The Law of Attraction, try not to go to their level on their radio dial, find out what brings them up to your level so they can tune into your radio dial.
Thanks for your posts i love reading them like everyone else.
Hey, I've been blogged about and I JUST noticed. Geez, where have I been. Great post!
Dena, How funny that you found it after so long! This is the post the radio station had called for me to read on the air!
