Welcome to the Hudson River Park NY New York

Welcome to the Hudson River Park NY New York

Coming out of a Feng Shui Consultiation near the West Village in New York City, Laura and I came across interisting Artwork.  There is Feng Shui Artwork, landscapes, abstract paintings and then there is functional interactive artwork.   This installation is located in the Hudson River Park at New York City on the West Side, it is called "Two too large tables."  This functional artwork installation was designed and created by Allan and Ellen Wexler. Every time you explore NYC you always come across something new and exciting to stimulate your appetite for the Arts. What is so captivating about these installation pieces is that you can interact and be part of history.  Location of Installation pieces if your ever in Manhattan NY and want to check out these great creations -Chelsea Upland Park near Pier 66 Cross at W.26th St.  This playful sculptures brought curiosity and a smile to those who passed, rested or ate a quick New York minute lunch.

Hi Carole... I used to live and work just blocks from there.  I miss NYC most of all in the springtime!

Hi Carole,

Some very creative individuals.  I like the second table better, and it would be a great place to sit and eat a meal.

Question:  When you look across the Hudson at that point can you see "The Palisaides"(excuse the spelling), or is that farther up the Hudson as you view the Jersey side?

Hi Carole - I grew up in NYC too.  I miss walking around and finding different things too, especially in the fall and spring.  Great photos of the tables.

How fun!  I love oversized pieces of art and how they fill a space that might otherwise just be concrete.  Is that snow I see on the ground in the first 2 pictures?

Carole, Thanks for your posts about New York. I hope to go to Hudson River Park next time I get a chance.

Steve, NYC is such a great city..you should come back and visit...spring is just around the corner :)

Bruce, I do believe the palisades parkway is more north, we were more in the southern direction.  Yes the people in this city are always full of surprises and creativity :)

Liz, I have no idea why  :)

Sally ,can you imagine having these tables at a family BBQ, what a funny site...all facing in different directions

Tony, as soon as we entered into the park these pieces of art caught our eyes..just great!

Fred,  NYC at its best, I cant wait till we come across more hidden treasures after our next up coming Feng shui consults in Manhattan, NY.

Bob and Carolin,  Your welcome I look forward to finding more NYC Art spots

Jackie, Thank you, we tired to find more works of art but they seemed to be the show case pieces in that area.

Elsye,I think I would miss New York City terribly and like you mentioned, seeing all the great artwork from professional and up-coming artists

Lisa, haha your correct it is snow!  It adds to the Surrealism of it all :)

Gita, please do, they also have helicopter tours, kayaking tours, jugging path and more...such a great area of NYC.

Bill, it was such a great location, just wait till all the greenery comes back, it will be spectacular.

Jo, we can't wait for the next adventure...everyday is full of it :)

Lizette,it is so much fun, the places and people you meet.  It's always full of excitement, especially when the day is full of sun and you can kick around the city.

Sandy, It is great...the only down fall is the traffic, but once you learn the subway system...you can by-pass that with no problem :)

Carole, thanks for bringing me these glimpses of home. Although I have settled in quite nicely in Florida, I occasionally miss NYC.  The interesting artwork displayed throughout the city is one reason.

Carole, you are right about one thing (among many!) . . . there's so many little treasures to be found in NYC! I'm definitely in need of another trip.

Posted by Deena Cottingham, Home Stager & Photographer (GreenApple Staging & Images, Calgary Staging & Photography) about 2 years ago

Carole - I love the placement of the chairs, which seem to allow togetherness - yet a feeling of privacy at the same time!

Just curious - Would this be near the place on the Hudson, where Sully landed the plane?  That would have been quite a view!

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat (Real Living Great West Real Estate) about 2 years ago

I guess they don't have to worry about anyone stealing those chairs.  Wouldn't it be a great place to play musical chairs?  lol

Debi, NYC is so great and full of fun..only in NY :)

Michael, yes that artist seem to have put a lot of thought into this project with their locations and design..I give them an A+!

Palmetto, Your very welcome.  Do the Florida streets have any interesting art work they can offer..maybe more in the mural department?

JaneAnne,I wonder when its cloudy, if  the works of art bring to mind the same fun, curious, atmosphere.

Teri, That's a great idea to see a birds eye view :)

Georgina, I like that, I think well try it next time were in the area lol :)

Mitchell, It was so great coming across this artwork and not to mentionthe walk traveling there

David,That's true, what a great artist and architecture, his work has influenced building designs throughout NYC.

Deena,I agree with that statement...I think spring is coming early :)

Myrl, Actually I think so.  I know when Laura and I took the New York FerryWay, they had brochers for seeing the landing spot on the Hudson River.

Margaret, You would have fit in just fine, many who passed the did the same thing :)
