The Feng Shui "Feel Good" Bedroom in Holtsville Long Island New York Home
There are some spaces that you walk into that immediately make you feel GOOD. Laura and I both felt this way when entering this lovely Bedroom in a Home on Long Island New York in the town of Holtsville.
If you think it belongs to a teenager, you're wrong. It belonged to my client's mother (now a proud Great Grandmother) and as you can see, she has surrounded herself with things that make HER feel good.
She loves Angels and Fairy's and has them all over. She also has a balance in the room with two night stands on her bed and plenty of light. I believe most importantly, she has used her favorite colors in the room....Beautiful shades of Lavender and Purple surround her every time she's in her own ‘Sacred Space.'
We have "Feng Shui Rules" and we follow them. There is nothing under the bed and no sleeping issues and the corners were addressed so Energy could not get stuck and pool in there.
The ONLY suggestion we had was that she cover her TV at night just by draping something over it. Mirrors or reflective surfaces must be very carefully placed if they are in the bedroom at all.
Feng Shui Holtsville Long Island NY Bedroom....The "Feel Good" Room.
It's so nice to find such a lovely space with someone who adorns her bedroom with things and colors that she loves in this new home in Holtsville Long Island NY.
*Feng Shui Tip: Check YOUR surroundings and check them frequently. As WE change, sometimes the things that once made us feel good change as well...Don't leave them up because of habit.

Hi Carole:
I would love to see photos!
Again, purple is my favorite....
I love to see things that make me happy in my work space, too. Ditto on Toula's thoughts . . . I'd love to see your photos, Carole!
Hi Carole... OK, your got me curious now... do we get to see a picture of the room? Pretty please.... :)
Are we going to see any photos?
From the desk of David Dee,
Carole, great stuff here! Mirrors are the 'cold metallic' elements and definitely should be used be caution and where appropriate. I have a relative who have mirrors in their bedroom and one of them was cracked. I advised them to switch over to the sliding wooden doors as the cracked mirrors is bad feng shui sign. Moreover, the fact that their bed was parallel to the mirrors was not in an ideal position for positive energy flow. Let's see what happens. :D
Carole by the sounds of it I am sure the little girl adores her room!
Hi Carole, I've always not liked having anything under the bed so it's always clear. Maybe that's why I always sleep well. I also love angels.
Carole - You've got me curious too. I was waiting to see a photo of the bedroom.
Carole~
Interesting! You wrote, " Mirrors or reflective surfaces must be very carefully placed if they are in the bedroom at all." Could you tell us a bit more about that? THX!
Carole..I can not cover my TV ..It is a flat screen ..what is wrong with mirrors????
HELPFULHANNAH
Carole,
It sounds like a lovely room.....
What did you mean by 'addressing the corners'?
Jo
Goodness, I KNOW I checked the post when taking it from Draft to Live....I know the picture was there! My apologies!! In my own defense (I really do have one), I got several projects thrown at me yesterday....all of which should have already been done but I had not been given the information.
I would have thought upon entering this room was fitting for a teenager....and in a way, it is. She may be a Great Grandmother but has such a young and vibrant spirit....I thought it came across in her surroundings.
For some of the questions: David, Kudos on your knowledge of Feng Shui. You were exactly right in the advice you gave them! I'm impressed and hope you're in the Group Feng Shui for Real Estate!
Bill, It's not a little girl although it looks like it could belong to one :)
janeAnne, Mirrors are very powerful in Feng Shui. They (or any reflective surface) should not be "hitting" us particulary in our bedrooms as they can interfere with sleep. Mirrors can give you a feeling of being "pushed" out of a space...an inauspicious alignment would be mirrored closets, the bed in the middle and windows. Or waking up and seeing yourself first thing in the morning (when you are not at your best), is not considered to be a good way to start the day. I hope this helps.
Hannah, I have to find my old Mirror post....and you can just drape a towel over it at night if it's hitting you. I'll look for the link.
Jo, Not leaving the corners bare in a room. Energy pools and can get "stuck" there.
Mirror, Mirror----WAIT! Don't Hang Me Yet!! by Feng Shui Long Island
Purple is my favorite color. I didn't know you could use it in your bedroom though.
Deb, I had a lavender bedroom for years when I was younger...I loved it. I think any color that makes YOU feel good is what you should surround yourself with.
Carole, I cannot cover my TV and have my dresser with mirror in my bedroom. I will have to read your post about mirrors.
