What Has Some New York Feng Shui Consultants Seeing RED?? BY Feng Shui Long Island and New York
Feng Shui. It brings to mind peace, harmony, balance and creating a space that's perfect to support you and your dreams and ambitions. Laura Cerrano and I set off for a Feng Shui Consultation in Huntington Village Long Island, NY, one of my favorite places to go.
The Feng Shui Clients on Long Island had told us about Spirit Activity....nothing we aren't used to dealing with and said it affected her teenage son. He couldn't seem to focus, she said and found objects "moving" in his room.
Upon entering what we thought to be a lovely home in Huntington Village, one of the first things we noticed was the Front Door. It "bumped....or hit" into another door. In Feng Shui, doors are called the Voices. When they hit, bump or knock there is a remedy which we mentioned to our Feng Shui Client.
She wasn't interested except to comment that everyone in the home was ALWAYS fighting. We asked her to take notes or we would provide a written report if she'd like after the Feng Shui Consultation.....she declined both.

I don't know WHY people call us for ADVICE when they are resistant to ANYTHING you have to say. Our main focus since her time was limited was on addressing the Activity in her son's room. Laura and I have often seen, felt and heard things in homes all over Long Island and New York City but nothing like this room.
It began to get COLD...icy cold as we discussed the events and sightings this young man had been going through. He claimed he couldn't sleep and reported seeing "black" objects floating around his room. Obviously, something was wrong because in short order the entire house became cold.
Space Clearings and Blessings in Feng Shui are wonderful. They are gentile in nature in having Spirits "move on" when they are stuck for one reason or another. Having studied a good deal of parapsychology in my past, this felt to be evil, and something we rarely come across.
During our conversation, both the man and his mother changed their mind. They've gotten rather used to this "Ghost" they say and DON'T WANT IT TO LEAVE. WHAT?????????
We try to explain that this isn't just lovely "Aunt Bessie" who has crossed to the other side in what was her old Huntington Village New York home, this had the tendencies to be a force they don't want to reckon with. We ask AGAIN about the Space Clearings...
We are told a resounding NO. After all, they reason, it's been around a while and nothing really AWFUL has happened (so far!). In any event, we try to explain that just as people have missions here, so do entities need to move on to fulfill theirs. Nothing was getting through. They'd decided to keep their Ghost...(and, I presume, continue to worry about her son).
Feng Shui can help with MANY things including spirit activity AND arguments....IF you allow it. We were politely shown the front door. "The Ghost Stays" we are told.
PLEASE don't call a Feng Shui Consultant and refuse advice! It frustrates us and is a total waste of our time and energy. I don't know WHY people call for advice and refuse to take it? And I certainly don't understand why you'd become so attached to a Spirit that you wouldn't want to let go.
But that's just OUR views. We left with mutual headaches and used every Feng Shui Blessing we knew prior to coming back to our lovely Long Island New York home....
**We are taught to be careful in Feng Shui and Spirit Energy....they CAN attach to you! Fortunately we are taught how to stop this from happening.
IT FELT SO GOOD TO GET HOME FILLED WITH GOOD FENG SHUI!

I know I would for sure want a ghost to be on his way OUT of my house. Clients can be crazy too I guess!
Hi Carole..sounds like they were just looking for a free consultation, we get Home Sellers that do the same thing..oh we changed our mind.
Carole - There would be no doubt in my mind about getting rid of that ghost in my house. These people sure took advantage of your valuable time if they weren't going to heed your advice and suggestions.
Carole - I can't imagine both the man and his mother changed their mind, that they've gotten rather used to this "Ghost" they say and DON'T WANT IT TO LEAVE. That's an especially disconcerting attitude when the son is being so negatively affected.
This happens all the time in Real Estate too Carole! People hire us and then don't listen to our advice.

That seems pretty strange that they would have a complete change of heart like that. Maybe they are under the influence of the spirit!
Hi Carole... somehow I am not surprised. I have had stagers offer consultations to clients that would have made their homes more appealing to buyers. Given the competitive market you would have thought that the sellers would have jumped on the bandwagon, but they stubbornly refused to even consider the recommendations. I guess you just can't help people who don't want to be helped!
Lizette, That was a first.....We documented what we told them so we'd have a record of it....absolutely bizarre.
Fred, No, they paid....I hardly know what to do with the money but we were there for two hours trying to talk to them!
Donna, They are doing themselves a big disservice and if you had felt the COLD that went through that room and then the house, I don't know what happened except it wasn't a good spirit. It was a bit frightening.
Myrl, Yes and it was the mother who had called concerned about her son. Lack of focus, hearing voices and telling us about seeing things. There was something in that house -- I have never had a temperature drop like that ever.
Craig, I can't imagine what would change their minds like that...the BOTH of them? I have to say it was a bizarre experience that neither one of us would ever want to repeat.
Georgina, I honestly think you may have been right.....I can't think of any other reason for it. She didn't sound strange on the phone, she was truly concerned for her son.
Steve, Any way I look at this, it is just SO strange. I do understand not everyone will take advice but when we spoke on the phone, they were concerned about this "energy" and wanted it removed....for both to have a complete change of heart was almost unbelievable.
Hi Carole, Doesn't surprise me that they changed their minds. Maybe they thought you would do it for free in the end. If she is that concerned for her son, then she should do something about it. It's hard to figure people out sometimes.
Hi Carole- that sounds rather scary, and even scarier that the homeowner's decided to "keep their ghost". A cold chill in the house and black spots does not sound like the Casper the friendly ghost type.
Sounds like a lot of our sellers who want our advice in staging a home, but then get upset when you give them suggestions. These days it's too easy to blame the market for lack of a sale. Hope you as Feng Shui consultants got paid first!
They might have called you, hoping you would say nothing was wrong. Hoping it was just their imagination, etc. It's like going to a doctor and getting a diagnosis you don't want to hear, so the patient wants to get a second opinion.
I bet they'll call you back to help them in a few months!
Jackie, we wanted to truly help them and it's just soo frustrating that people say yes help and then refuse what you suggest.
Linda, I know , We are there to truly help. Like you mentioned this goes with any business or profession. Laura is also a teacher and says its the same with students, they ask how can I pass this test etc..she tells them ways to improve their chances...but they don't listen and put in the effort to change.
We home inspectors have similar problems. People hire us and then ignore the report and our recommendations. Ah, well, you can lead a donkey to water but it's still a donkey.
