The TRUTH About Feng Shui: What A New York Feng Shui Consultation can REALLY Tell You!
There is an Element in Feng Shui that is not often discussed. I don’t mean an “Element” such as one of the Five Elements that we use to address Feng Shui Principles, I mean something rarely discussed with clients prior to a Feng Shui Consultation.
Often times Laura Cerrano of Feng Shui Manhattan New York and I will get calls from a prospective Feng Shui Client who wants to discuss “moving their furniture” for Feng Shui Results. While that is certainly a PART of Feng Shui as we seek to open Energy Blockages, it is only one level of Feng Shui.
Feng Shui has so many levels that it’s difficult to imagine. We can see hundreds of people that have money issues, for example, and as we speak to them we realize they can be caused by so many different things that don’t just relate to the “Wealth” Corner of your home.

If you’re looking for a Feng Shui Consultation in New York
or anywhere else, please keep this in mind: The very FIRST thing a Good Feng Shui Consultation will do is bring up things that are “hidden.” Simply put, Feng Shui brings out the TRUTH.
Ok, now what is this rambling New York Feng Shui Consultant speaking of? I’m going to give you two recent examples of client’s who thought we were just doing a design or re-design with Feng Shui Principles and found out the TRUE issues they needed to face.
I met a wonderful man in the lovely town on Long Island of The Hampton Bays NY. He did a very specialized form of work and had been laid off from his previous job well over two years ago. He was seeking a Feng Shui Consultation in the Hamptons NY to help address his career.
We focused on Career and the other areas of his life and told him to remember to look into ALL opportunities that came his way, even if the job didn’t seem at first suited for him. He did get a contact for a position but it was nothing he would have normally looked into.

Opportunities come our way for a REASON. Look into them before you turn them down!
He did and found with the benefits and “perks” it would be an IDEAL job for him. He was thrilled and quite honestly, so were we. He decided to get some tests out of the way so he wouldn’t have to take time off from this fabulous job and it was discovered he had Stage one prostate cancer.
Of course he was horrified but they caught it very early. Later on when he looked back on the Feng Shui Consultation he had gotten he told us that he had no intention of going to the doctor….he credited finding the job and the Feng Shui Consultation with saving his life because they caught it so early.
We recently did another client in Nassau County NY for a Feng Shui Consultation. Most importantly to her, she wanted to strengthen her relationship with her husband. She confided that he was distant, had been out a lot lately and she feared he was being unfaithful. Of course we addressed her home and her bedroom in particular and shortly thereafter she emailed me that he began staying home more---he loved the feel of the “new” bedroom we had created. And he started to open up more.

About two weeks after the Feng Shui Consultation on Long Island NY she called me. She told me that her husband had confided to her that he’d been very unhappy lately and had begun to see a therapist a few weeks ago. She was NOT the cause of the unhappiness but it accounted for his hours away from home and the distance he had created.
She was surprised that he hadn’t told her but could now help him through a difficult time. She also knew he was completely faithful and was so happy to hear that.
So, does this happen every time we do a Feng Shui Consultation for someone in or out of New York? Absolutely not….but it DOES happen and it should be spoken about. How can you get the best results from Feng Shui when you don’t know what you’re dealing with?
Feng Shui is not just “The Mindful Art of Placement.” It is levels and years of learning to address the REAL issues to get the Truths to surface.

carole have you seen that new commercial about Feng Shui during the Olympics? :-)
Oh I just went back and read the whole post - it's funny - the way it can help with relationships - the commercial was a funny one actually it had to do with VIAGRA - and how he's wife was always decorated and redocorating......and then it was Feng Shui - but now that he was on Viagra - SHE had lost all interest in redecorating.........it just cracked up - I do believe some women decorate and redecorate because of some basic unfulfilled needs......I'd just never heard it put quite like that before :-)
Carole--I find your experiences facinating. I think that in many times in life, things speak to you if you will listen. If Feng Shui is what gets someone to "listen" to that inner voice or energy, it is a great service you are providing.
Carole,
Feng shui seems to get energy moving enough to open up areas of people's lives for changes....it's amazing really.
Jo
CAROLE, Wow good for you! It is so wonderful when you can have an affect like that on someones life.
Hi Carole - I had never thought about the deeper benefits of this. I found your post extremely interesting. thanks!
Debi
Feng Shui certainly is powerful.. To get to one's truth is certainly an art! Amazing stories and very inspiring.
Hi Carole-
What amazing stories of the power of a catalyst to change people's lives. I had not thought of defined levels on Feng Shui. I was just thinking of you today as I am getting ready to clear out some excess that has been hanging around for weeks! I now that loading it up and taking it to Goodwill will have an impact.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sara
Hi Carole... the truth is often a welcome change from the denial we often surround ourselves with. I love how you employ the principles of Feng Shui to bring change into peoples' lives!
Carole, it is some amazing stories you have here. I am glad you use Feng Shui to help your clients and bring them hope.
From the desk of David Dee,
Carole, what a delightful post! Feng Shui can impact one's life. The energy flow and chi that is created by restructuring the house albeit minute can create an immense difference in the overall scheme of things for both personal and professional situations. Your story here proves it and that it can change one's life.
I read a lot about feng shui and vasthu. Some of my India clients are particular about vasthu but have never read about such fascinating results.
Hi Carole, it's amazing how Feng Shui works. It must feel really good to have such a positive impact on a person's life! :)
This is so interesting and it must be so fulfilling to hear this feedback after you help someone.
What beautiful unintended consequences (from the consumer point, anyway) that your work has, Carole.
You must have the most rewarding days. This was such an inspirational blog. Thanks!
Liz, I have watched so much of the Olympics but I haven't seen the commercial.....Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see it before they're over, it sounds very funny :)
Teri, It's something many consultants don't bring up and I'm not sure if they realize it. I keep in close contact and these are true stories of just a few of the "truths" that have come out.
Jo, Everyone promotes the wonderful benefits and I do as well.....but sometimes underlying issues have to come to the surface and be dealt with first.
Hi Debi, Most people don't think of this...and many consultants don't mention it. It's actually a blessing even when faced with things you'd rather not deal with.
Marchel, I believe it would be helpful if more people realized this....and it's just not spoken about.
Joan, They are and it's only two to illustrate a point.
Sara, I can't wait to hear what new things come into your life. Many people aren't aware of all the levels of Feng Shui (and I'm not sure I was either, for the first few years.
Steve, Working with Energy, anything can happen. Shifts do take place and things rise to the surface....it's beneficial so we can deal with them.
Rita, It's a subject that still amazes me and always will....
David, Thank you, it's one of the many levels of Feng Shui not often spoke of. It does often have a deep and profound impact on someone's life!
Gita, Many of my clients from India have Spiritual Counselors. They already know about these things and most were brought up with Vastu. The principles closely resemble Feng Shui as you know.
Jackie, It does....But it's something I tell my clients prior to a consultation so they don't think we're just talking about 'furniture placement.'
Debra, It is wonderful to hear the feedback because ultimately even the news we initially see as a "bad" result has a wonderful ending which client's realize later.
Lisa, It's a subject that is often neglected. Then again, there are so many levels of Feng Shui it's impossible to explain them all.
Lizette, There are absolutely some wonderful days when we're every bit as happy as our clients..and that is the nicest part of this experience.
The "money plant" caught my eye. Where is the correct placement of this item and what is it's purpose? I have a small office and I have placed a few "money" plants on the south side to the left of the entrance. I have heard much about this item...
