A Long Island New York Feng Shui Home with REAL ART! Nassau County NY Feng Shui Homes
Long Island New York is typically remembered in many of its towns in Nassau County and Suffolk County for its "cookie cutter" homes. While many of the homes here on Long Island were built in the same fashion they have mostly all be remodeled and now they all look quite different.
While coming home from a recent Feng Shui Consultation in Nassau County New York, I realized I was not far from an old friend's house that now lives in Arizona. I thought he would love a snapshot of his old home to bring back some lovely memories.
Leaving an Imprint....And a Legacy.
While driving through the neighborhood, Laura and I spotted a home that was one of the most ARTFUL homes on Long Island I have ever seen. We were enthralled and stopped to take a few shots. Finally Laura asked me if I thought the Artwork was done not only to make his home outstanding from the others but if I thought he had addressed Feng Shui Principles in it.

As I looked at the Artwork outside the Home on Lovely Long Island, I had to agree with her. One thing we both noticed was that he had been careful to address the Elements of Feng Shui. We saw Feng Shui Elements addressed not only by the materials he used but also in the Shapes he chose.
Yin/Yang Feng Shui Symbol for Balance in this Long Island New York Home.
And a Yin/Yang Symbol right near the Front Door (The Mouth of Chi in Feng Shui) was the final giveaway. I thought for a few minutes just how far Feng Shui has come in the well over a decade that I have been using it. Back in the day when absolutely NO ONE knew what it was or could even pronounce it (It's pronounced FUNG SCHWAY).
Adressing the Feng Shui Element of Clay.
Finally, people know about it and they know it works. At least I believe this ARTIST did!

Hi Carole:
Now those are some interesting pieces of art to have outside of a home!
You're right - what a cool looking home. I'll bet an artist lives there.
Carole - Talk about expressing yourself through art! These pieces are just so unique and speak to the owner's knowledge of Feng Shui.
That must have been quite a thrill for you to see all those pieces of art bearing the essence of Feng Shui elements right there in front of you.
I would have knocked on his door, introduced myself and complimented the homeowner. You never know who he knows....and where it could lead to......
Carole,
WoW, what beautiful art...amazing how much it adds to the house and property; a whole new dimension.
Jo
Carole--Uniquely NYC Artful Distractions...I like it! I am so glad that I had time to read a few posts today and didn't miss this! Very cool!
Hello Carole, very nice pieces of Art and thanks for the view!
VB ;o)
You are absolutely right Carole, it has come along way baby! Bet you were tempted to knock on the door and ask the Owner???
Hi Carole, Now for me, I thought the siding was cute. Ok, I mean the way they put it on in a chevrom pattern. Did you notice it points up and allows energy to flow into the house . The art was different but I like the house better. :-)
I wonder if the owner is the actual artist of all of those pieces? They are gorgeous!!
Great pieces, what fun to stumble upon them! Even if the artist of the pieces doesn't live there, the resident certainly has an appreciation for fine art...
Carole, great shots. I'm relatively new to the concepts of Feng Shui and appreciate you indicating what each represents. My favorite art piece is the last one - do you know what that represents? Thanks!
Thanks for the pictures. The owner is either a Feng Shui consultant or hired a good one. I do not know of the significance of all the items but am curious to know more.
Very interesting! I like the pieces but don't know that I would put them in my yard.
Now that is cool art Carole! It's nice to see people using Feng Shui on Long Island!!! :)
Carole - The artist has chosen a marvelous way to showcase his work. Like a real estate for sale sign it's out there working for him 24/7.
Hi Carole, I love reading your posts, because I always learn new things about Feng Shui. And I've noticed the Feng Shui elements around us in our area. This house looks so inviting. He's done a beautiful job. Did you get to meet the owner?
I love the art Carole, how cool was it that you & Laura came across this home? Great photos of the art too.
Wow very unique, but lovely choices :o)
Toula, When Laura and I drove passed we both were so excited..stopped the car and put it in reverse. This artist took great care in what he created. I think Laura has been inspired and started creating her own mini versions of metal sculptures :)
Georgina, You bet ya right! I should have mentioned, Laura asked a neighbor about who lived in the home and was informed that the artist Craig Brown had passed away, but his art still stands :)
Donna, He seemed to be very much in-touch with the idea. The front lawn sculpture of the two figures address the idea of partnership...they look as if they are dancing!
Craig, well...we tried that and he was not there, turns out the artist had passed a while ago :/ I'm sure he was there in spirit smiling at how his work was being admired.
Jo, It was so great...it was like a breath of fresh air and surreal. Love it!
Teri E,I love finding these random pieces of work. I know when my daughter has Feng Shui consults in NYC, especially during the spring and summer times, she'll come across street art (sand-art, painting sidewalks) or performance artists.
Robert, Thank you and Thank you to the artist :)
Al and Peggy, unfortunately the artist has passed away :/ I wish he was alive...I would have requested a piece myself.
William,The house can be considered art as well :)
Lisa,Yes he was, I believe he kept working on his sculptures up into his 70's-80's. His passion kept him going and motivated:)
Cheryl, The residents do, one of his neighborsto the right of his home has a sculpture he made for them and they also connected their property together to further showcase his work...now that's a great neighbor :)
Jennifer, It was a moving metal sculpture so from my point of view he could have wanted an area moving or growing. the piece would change shapes a bit as it moved!
Gita, or the artist has "intuitive" feng shui, which many people do but are unaware of the fact.
Debra,To each is own :) I think if you have a certain personality that macthes the characteristics of you home..it is very much doable :)
Jackie,Many times people do not want to show that they use the principles of Feng Shui, not the artist...he let the world know :)
Kathy, I agree...I was ready to ask for a custom created piece!
Sandy,I was unable to because the artist unfortunately passed away. The individuals taking care of the house agreed to leave his work up...but I'm not sure for how long.
Carole this home truly has some really interesting art pieces. I like that kind of thing myself!
