There are Just Some Activerainers I will NEVER Unsubscribe to!
When I was recently looking at my list of people who I've subscribed to that haven't posted on Activerain in so long, it made me terribly sad. While I know reasons why some of them left, I am not at all sure why others did.
I always wish they will come back. When I first started on Activerain we "only" had a "small" Community of 6,000 members. I was able to get back to my subscribers and had enough time to read some of the people on here that I love so much.
I'm sure you all have your own favorites that have left. Precious people that you'd love to see return to the Rain. My hope with this post is that you'll add your own favorites and maybe, just MAYBE if we're really fortunate, they will have a Google Alert up.
Perhaps they will stop by. At the very least I do hope they know just how much they are missed.
Just a few of the people I will NEVER unsubscribe to:
Jackie 's Blog Jackie Perazza One VERY gifted Home Stager. I sometimes see Jackie on Facebook but it's not the same. I miss her and her incredible work and blogs very much.
From the Heart of Utah Real Estate by Julie Neerings Anyone that didn't know Julie will wish they did. She has a heart of Gold and her blogs always inspired me. Her Chicken Soup for the Soul series is worth a read anytime YOU need some inspiration!
Deborah's Blog Deborah Pearce is multi-talented with so many GIFTS. Her posts enlightened me with her courage to get through obstacles and try different paths. I truly miss her and the inspiration she gave so freely.
Long Beach CA Real Estate Blog Laurie Manny: Laurie was around before I even became a member. I'm sure she is prospering and doing well but I thought of her as a founding member and am sorry she's hasn't been back to Activerain in SO long.
Florida Real Estate >> The Pensacola Florida Real Estate Specialist Dianne Barody: I enjoyed ALL of Dianne's posts and truly believe she had a gift of writing. I believe I emailed her at one point to ask her if everything was ok because she had stopped posting, but I didn't hear back.
Raleigh - Durham NC Real Estate Specialist>>Elizabeth Nieves' Perspective on NC Real Estate and Other 'GOOD STUFF' Elizabeth Nieves: Maybe it just seems like forever since she posted. She never left a post without her signature GBU and I returned each and every one. I saw a note from her on FB recently that she was coming back and many of us are RIGHT HERE WAITING.
Duane Marlink * Rate A Home : Rate A Home Blog The Founder of the Them-Them Group, Duane was ALWAYS thinking about others. I believe he should have promoted his business more but his dedication on Activerain was always to acknowledge other people. I miss him and his fun posts and his funnier comments!
Lisa Ryan~Selling Princeton,West Windsor Blog If you knew Lisa and read her blogs, I don't have to say another word. If you didn't. you truly missed a treasure. I do hope she returns to AR.
Fernando's Home Staging Blog Fernando Rosado: Fernando was one of the most talented Stagers I've seen on AR. Multi talented, he had a true flair for decorating and staging. And he loved his work. I have a feeling Fernando will come back again and share his amazing skills and before and after photos one day.
Gayle Balaban Gayle's Blog: If you were looking for an Activerainer with a heart, I'm sorry if you didn't know Gayle. Among her causes of helping many others, she helped to rescue Poodles. When my mom's little dog passed on, Gayle did everything she could to help me get her another.
These are just a FEW of the Activerainer's who have touched my heart and left beautiful memories. I am making this a public post in the hopes they see their names. I don't think anyone really cares if some people have left Real Estate and feel they can no longer post. We just MISS them and would love to see them return!

thank you for pointing me toward some bloggers that I didn't know! It is great to get new ideas of other people to follow! thank you!
Carole - Jackie Peraza is a great lady - she and my wife were good friends when she lived here in Austin, and she was very generous and supportive when I raised money for my friend who was dying of cancer in 2008. Love her!
Carole, I am new to AR and just want to say your post is a great way to honor those you have lost and miss. (Sincerely----Gloria)
Carole I know many of these including Duane, Julie, and Elizabeth. Defintiely missed.
Carole - I forgot to mention how much I adore Julie and Elizabeth - both great friends that I miss a lot. Duane was a great part of the community as well.
You are so generous to recommend fellow bloggers in your post! I'm sure they appreciate the links and the post! Kathy
Hi Carole:
I have a few also that I will not unsubscribe.
I had gotten to know them so well...
As you said, I wish that they would come back and just stop by for a while...
Carole, thank you for all of the great links to knowledge! I'm a newish agent and am looking to learn as much as I can, and find advice wherever I can. I've bookmarked your blog to come back and research!
Carole~
I miss Maureen Francis.
I remember Duane. Sad to say, I believe that he is long gone and will never come back. I remember joining when the community was less than 40,000 members. We certainly have come a long way baby...
Helping you help others live their American dream...
Hi Carole, what a nice thing you have done. Maybe the word will spread and they will come back. You could never know! :)
You are so good-hearted, Carole, to go out of your way to let these bloggers know they are missed. You're right, with some people, the fact that they are in real estate is beside the point; we love to hear what they are thinking about life. -- Tanya in Montreal
I got a note from Julie a while back, but nothing since, so I'm not sure how she is doing, but I miss reading her too! Same for Elizabeth - she popped into FB recently, but hasn't updated since. I'm sure when she comes back it will be with a bang.
Carole,
I remember most of the people on your list and I REALLY miss them too...they were all wonderful people and writers and very sensitive souls. I just hope they're all ok and doing well in life.
How wonderful of you to showcase them and remind them that we miss them...
Jo
Hi Carole, It's always so sad to see people leave that we have built friendships with over the years. I have seen people leave that I also miss. Active Rain is such a great place to meet new people, and we all grow and become a family together. Great post.
What a nice post Carole ! Even over this last year that I have been here I have seen some people disappear who I enjoyed encountering each day !
It's a funny phenomenum this AR thing, and can consume you rather easily, but I often wonder why some members just fade away from our little sandbox ?!?!
I hope your faves you listed return some day soon :o)
Sheldon
Hi Carole...I am also among the Julie and Elizabeth fans...and miss them.
My favorites who have stopped posting are Ed Rybzynski such a wealth of knowledge and an exceptional writer. Rich Dansereau funny, clever and a workaholic! Rich was generous with his knowledge and a champion of worthy causes....he is on Facebook but it just isn't the same! There are so many others.....
I still haven't figured oout how we get so attached!
Carole, it's so sweet that you try to stay in touch and check in with these great bloggers when you don't see their posts for awhile. I too am guilty of being absent from AR for awhile, but I'll always come back since it's here that I have met so many wonderful people like YOU!
Carole - It is really amazing how much we can benefit and learn from each other here in The Rain ! I love to go through our subscription lists and read through all the great blogs ! Active Rain and its members rock !
Carole - you are absolutely right there have been a number of really good people who are not here anymore. I think they go other directions!
Lise, Some of these people have been long gone but I do always hope they will return. They are missed!
Jason, I have spoken with Jackie myself more then a few times in the past...she is a doll! So were all the people I mentioned. They are certainly missed.
Doug and Gloria, Welcome to Activerain! I hope you love it here as much as I do. These people were wonderful bloggers and I am always hoping they will return.
Gary, They are. I thought they might see a Google Alert but perhaps not :(
Kathy, I am always hopeful. And I certainly won't unsubscribe!
Toula, I wonder if they believe they have to be in real estate still....I think most of us would just like to hear from them!
Andrea, These were some wonderful bloggers who have been gone a while. I'm just hopeful that at least some will return. And welcome to Activerain!!
janeAnne, I know the name but I don't remember her. Thank you for the link, I'm going to see her posts.
Michael, Wow, we certainly have! It seemed huge to me at 6,000 members :)! I miss Duane and we did keep in touch for a little while after he left.....and then lost contact :(
Jackie, No, you never know and I'm always wishful :)
Tanya, That's exactly what I want to hear about...And I always hope everything is well with them!
Lisa, I saw that note from Elizabeth on FB that she would be back too!! I have no doubt you're right, she'll be back with a big bang and lots of GBU's to share!
Jo, I knew you know them as well and have no doubt you miss them all too! Maybe they don't realize what a warm welcome they will get :)
Sandy It is sad but people do return. I hold out hope for these very special people.
Sheldon, You would adore each and every one of them. It's sad that people leave and some I do email but don't get a response. I often think they are having difficulties....and always hope they will pass and come back on.
Joni, I know them both well. I used to LOVE Rich's Garden......I couldn't believe what he created. I believe he is involved with a new business?
Annie, These people will always have a special place here on AR in in some of our hearts. I do believe some will come back someday.
Chris and Stephanie, We lost some wonderful bloggers....who had hearts of gold. I was hoping they might see a Google Alert just to see how much they're missed.
Sharon, I guess they do but I miss them. I always wonder about them....
Hi Carole,
Yes, some of us do catch posts like this on our Google Alerts :) I did.
Thank you for the sentiments. AR was a great place to be, for a time. There are only 24 hours in the day, something had to give. I kept what was producing and ditched was wasn't.
I hope you are all prosperiing here.
Warmest Regards,
Laurie Manny

You have mentioned some really great people. In fact many of them I subscribe to as well. I actually met Jackie Perazza this past Fall and showed her a few homes:)
I actually going to mention Mrs.Long Beach Ca Real Estate, Laurie Manny (Main Street Realtors Long Beach California). When I first became a member here, she was the first person that I heard about SEO through. She was even nice enough to stop by my Facebook blog and wish me a Happy Birthday. We miss you Laurie.
Darleen McCullen, Broker-Raleigh, NC Real Estate (Zip Realty)-She is another one of my favorites who don't blog here anymore. She has called me a couple of times and we have talked-Very nice person. She also wished me a Happy Birthday on my Facebook page.
Amber Steiner, North Atlanta Real Estate (Solid Source Realty) -She was the first person to make a comment on my blogs. These two blogs written by her are still some of my favorite Active Rain blogs.
Lorinda Ward (Acworth Georgia Realtor)-She is a big supporter of my blogs. Definitely one of Hot Atlanta Georgia's finest real estate professional.
Ava Anderson "Selling Real Estate in Snellville, Grayson and Loganville"-Formerly Ava Lugg. Another one of Hot Atlanta's finest Real Estate Professional.
There are many more... But those are just some of my favorites who I wish would come back and play with us in the Rain because we miss them. THANKS FOR WRITNG THIS BLOG CAROLE. Great post.
I called some of the members last year and some of them had quit real estate.
Your list of Rainers who you will never UNsubscribe to is like a who's who of ActiveRain!
I too have a bunch of those folks on my sucscription list.
I hope they come back soon!
These members must be very special to you, even I am not here long enough to meet and know them, but there are some members certainly special people.
Laurie, I am so glad you had your Google Alerts and at least know that many of us are thinking of you. I'm glad to hear you are doing well and see all your fabulous sites!
Bill, I love Jackie, she gets around....but I miss her here. I'll have to FB her and ask her where her alerts are!
Lanre, I hope they see this....but I guess most of them missed it. I am thrilled to see at least Laurie caught it and yes, she helped MANY of us with so much information!
Gita, Honestly, I wouldn't care, I would still love to hear how they're doing. I guess they don't feel they can write here anymore :(
Craig, Wonderful people with hearts of GOLD. I miss them and I'm sure you do, too.
Rita, They are....some will be back I bet and you'll be able to see for yourself!
Carole--What a wonderful way to pay tribute to those who are no longer with us in the ActiveRain community. Since I have onlybeen a member for one & half years I didn't have an opportunity to meet the people you mentioned. Periodically I try to scroll down my subscribe list to find people I haven't heard from for awhile. Then I send them an e-mail. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't.
In life we have also have scenarios like this. In our more transient society people come into and out of our lives. I had a dear friend in my office who moved west many years ago. We kept in contact for a few years then she stopped corresponding. I keep her in my heart & prayers and hope all in well in her life and her family.
Mary Y,It's always a great idea to reconnect with friends and family from the past, it's almost like another way of refreshing your spirit and theirs.
Maybe this post will give them a reason to come back and share their posts again.
I know, Carole. It is amazing how quickly you become friends with people in this community and cherish their presence. Life does has it seasons and I'm sure they will be back one day again.
Carole, Surprise!!! Bill Gassett and I were just visiting (he may list my house) and during our conversation he mentioned someone on AR had written about me in their blog. You know me, I had to run and figure that one out.
I MISS blogging and I miss the many friends I've made (and met!) on AR. I so appreciate all the kind comments and LOOOVE knowing I'm missed.
I may surprise you yet with another blog post...maybe.
Thank you, thank you for finding me to be an important part of your (blogging) life. I feel the same about you.
