Be CAREFUL What you Wish For........
Recently opened in Farmingdale, Long Island New York: Krispy Crème! Until just a year or so ago we only had Dunkin Donuts here on Long Island and one day we heard Krispy Crème was finally opening in just one area of the Island.
The lines were long....they were a hit and have been opening branches in different locations now. This one, however, caused some speculation that is may just be possible that Jenny Craig wasn't doing all that well---and decided to purchase their own franchise of a Krispy Kreme. What a benefit to BOTH businesses! Who knows? Certainly the location of our latest Krispy Kreme is a little suspect.......
It's a tough economy....Anything is possible : ) !
Was this a brainstorm?

Carole, Maybe you're on to something. They opened a Chinese restaurant next to the Jenny Craig in Boca. Who knows?
Well, it is all about product placement, sell enough donuts and well "hello Jenny". mbm
good visual. mbm
Wow, what placement of these two businesses!!! Kinda like in college when the gym I worked out at was next door to TCBY.
Makes one wonder if the marketing team at Krispy Kreme are geniuses or brain-damaged. Any bets as to which will still be operating at that location in two years?
Now that is really funny! I wouldn't have believed it if there hadn't been a photo! LOL Someone has a great sense of humor here.
TOO FUNNY Carole !!!!
Marketing Geniuses???? ....maybe !!!!
Carole, this is too funny. How convenient??
This is really interesting, Carole. We had the same thing happen when Krispy Kreme came to Lafayette. Long lines for the first month and then they overextended themselves by selling their donuts in all the grocery and convenience stores. The Krispy Kreme donut store is now closed in Lafayette.
I say bringKirstie Alleyto the location in Farmingdale and SEE WHICH STORE SHE GOES INTO!!!!
That will be the store that will survive in a year!
Hi Carole-That is pretty funny. I think there was definitely strategic planning going on there. <SMILE>
Ohhh...I love Krispy Kremes! Especially when they are hot out of the oven.
Carole - too funny - opposites attract?
Carole - too funny - opposites attract?
Hi Carole! I laughed so hard when I saw that picture, lol! I know exactly where that is :)
Now that's either a brilliant idea on the part of the Jenny Craig CEO's or a pretty coincidental location to open shop......Or it's someone with an amazing sense of humor and good business sense!
Carole that is hilarious! I agree with Craig-someone has a very funny sense of humor. LOL
Hi Carole... what an ironic twist of fate! I prefer Dunkin Donuts, but I won't say no to a Krispy Kreme... they're both too good!
Carole, if Jenny Craig didn't open the Krispy Kreme next door, she should have paid the guy who did. And unlike Steve, I prefer Krispy Kreme to Duncan Donuts.
Hahah! I guess they would go hand in hand :-)
We were all excited here in Apex about the opening of a Dunkin Donuts drive thru! Lines are long in the morning for their coffee.
Now people don't even have to burn any calories to WALK into the store. They still sit in their cars. A drive through gym may be next!
Great picture and post. It's all in the marketing!
By the way, Carole, I ate at Applebee's last night, they put the page of "Right size portion" menu next to the page of desserts, I guess they want their customers have a "balanced" diet, haha.
Carole...Oh wow ...can you believe that!
HELPFULHANNAH
Hi Carole-
This is too fun! Would that qualify as the yin and yang?

Elyse, This made me laugh. We knew they were building something but I would never have imagined a Krispy Kreme :)
MaryBeth, It just might be a boon to BOTH businesses....time will tell.
Kim, Personaly I find it funny but maybe it was done deliberately...who knows?
Wayne, I'll send you an update next year. I'm curious myself as to which one will last.
Joan, I have to say we were laughing so hard. I wonder sometimes what people are thinking :)
Sheldon, Maybe...time will tell!
Rita, I thought it was a riot. When the put the sign up I knew I had to get a photo of it.
Bruce, I LOVE your idea! Brilliant bit of marketing advice :) I too wonder about Krispy Kreme only because there are now getting to be so many...it takes the uniqueness away.
Sharon, I wonder if there was...or if they knew anything about the new owners.
Lizette, We have them all over now. I think they're extending too much, they were once very special here.
Janice, Maybe they do. I guess time will tell on who "wins" this :)
Jackie, Good, stop in for coffee, I am 5 minutes from there!
Craig, I can't figure out which but I thought it was SO funny. I had no idea what they were opening but I never expected to see that!
Debra, Who knows, they may help eachother. I'll keep a watch if I can stop laughing.
Steve, That's funny, I prefer Dunkin Donuts myself. We have a drive through for them and Starbucks :)
Pat, That's another whole debate, I should have asked who prefers which donuts!
Kris, They might work very well together. I guess I'll find out.
Linda, That is too funny, a drive through gym. Goodness, I guess anything is possible. We have two drive thru's....Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts!
Rita, That's so funny! Our applebys just came back with my favorite dessert they had taken off the menu...chocolate brownies. That got me going back :)
Hannah, When I stop laughing I will believe anything.
Sara, That's a funny question. I guess it would!! Wow, good "catch."
Carole it is really funny to have the donut shop next to the weight watching place. These days owners of commercial space aren't too picky. I hope both businesses will thrive.
Why do I have the distinct feeling the Jenny Craig business opened the Krispy Creme store next door:-)
Goodness Carole... one has to decide.... eat first then work out, or work up an appetite from working out then reward yourself! ANYWAY.... this is the last day of the year... so see you next YEAR!!!! Blessings to you on BOTH sides!
I have to agree with Diane above . . . it's kind of a circular situation! :-) I personally, could live without the donuts. We had a Krispy Kreme open in Calgary. Initially the lines were really long as well. I believe they are barely holding on, now. I think Canadians are committed to their Tim Horton's!
Too funny, though, Carole. Thanks for sharing!
That's funny! We had people waiting in line when our Krispy Kreme opened a few years ago. I think they're overrated.
Carole - that photo is hilarious, what a cruel thing to do to people on their way to Jenny Craig. I reblogged your post to share with my readers as well. -Monica
...and Jenny Craig wins the battle.
I just went to visit the Krispy Kreme location in the photo, which only opened the end of July, and it was vacant already!
Joe, Thank you! I passed it myself the other day and couldn't believe how quickly Krispy Creme closed! I guess people are really sticking to their New Year's Resolutions!
Thank you for reading my blogs :)
