Without fail, every year Santa pays a visit to our little Long Island New York Community of Farmingdale NY. I don't know how he finds the time, honestly....
But come he does. Blogging for ActiveRain has taught this Feng Shui consultant to keep my camera nearby at ALL times to capture those moments that pass in the blink of an eye.
This was the calm before what is being called the Blizzard of '09. Many of us will remember this one for a VERY long time with record amounts of snowfall and people stranded everywhere. We lost three Long Islander's to the cold--one homeless person and two elderly people who were just outside their doors. I hope everyone is safe in the coming months.
Happy Holidays.........Laura Cerrano of Feng Shui Manhattan and I wish EVERYONE the Very BEST of Holidays and a wonderful, healthy and prosperous New Year!
The real raindeers stayed in the North Pole...it was WARMER :)

Merry Christmas to you and all your family, Carole! I deeply appreciate you taking the time to help me when I first came on the AR scene back in September. You are a generous and selfless individual. Thank you for all you do and for your generous heart. I think my favorite blogs(they are all so good!!) were the ones telling about your mom, and then the one about your dad's service in the Army Air Force in the Airwar over Nazi Germany. Best wishes and special good health to your mom!
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEARTLAND!
That is a unique float. I hope everybody had a great time. I like the duck. At least i think it was a duck
Carole,
What an adorable picture......Santa will certainly need Rudolph this year!
Jo
Carole, I'm glad to hear Santa made it before the storm but I'm sorry to hear about the 3 people that didn't make it through the storm. Our daughter flied out of LaGuaria at 5:45 AM Saturday morning. When we booked her flight she could either come REALLY early or late. She decided she would be jet lagged anyway so why not take the early morning one. In this case the early bird gets the worm.
Carole- Hope that you're all dug out from the blizzard now. We here in Raleigh missed it, although they had predicted a couple of inches it never materialized. My son had 14 inches in DC- after he spent the last 2 winters in Cairo Egypt. I need to get that boy some boots for Christmas!
Happy Holidays!
Hi Carole... Rudolph sure looks a bit rigid and stiff in this pic... he may be working too hard and need a massage! Happy Holidays!
hi Carole... stay warm!!! I hope you & Laura have a wonderful Christmas and an amazing 2010. {hug}
Happy Holidays Carole and Laura... wishing you all the best in the new year.
Hi Carole...I know what you mean about Photo opportunity that can pass you buy..Victoria had the Most Snow in all of Canada including the North Pole Last Christmas 47 CM...Nothing this year, and I hear not even Sanata can change it now with only 2 more Sleeps Left...Any Words of Wisdom for your old Friend in 2010?
Boy you are up late too, does your Daughter Know you're up so late :O))
MERRY CHRISTMAS...Thanks for Sharing Part of Your Life with Me here in the Rain in 09, I look forward to your inspiring posts in 2010.
Merry Christmas Carole-I heard that NYC got hit with a lot of snow. Glad you are surviving it. Have yourself a wonderful Christmas and may 2010 be the best one yet. <SMILE>
Hi Carole! Yeah, we got hit with a lot of snow didn't we? Good thing people do not panic since we do not get this kind of snowfall.
I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)
Carole -- Blessed Yule, Merry Christmas, and here's to a wonderful, wonderful 2010 filled with peace, prosperity and joy!
Carole~
Thanks for your lively and generous energy. Happy Days to you and your Family...and Many Blessings in 2010.
I remember every year the fire department in Northport, LI would drive up and down the streets with Santa throwing out popcorm balls to all the kids watching. It was such a great tradition. Seeing your post once again made me remember my days on Long Island.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Carole.
All the best in 2010!
Carole - Great photo ! Blogging has also taught us to keep our camera nearby as well ! On a side note, I do not know how Santa does it either : ) Have a great holiday and here is to a great 2010 !
We flew out to Seattle the day after the first snow hit, we were lucky that our plane pretty much took off on time.
Carole--He would have needed a real sleigh a few days later...we laughed at all the snow out east but we are getting our dose of winter wonderland now. 6 inches last night and another 6-10 scheduled for today...my snowboarder and skier are very happy but driving to Grandma's tomorrow will be treacherous! Have a very merry Christmas...And wonderful new year too!
Hi Carole:
Our local fire department traditionally comes through every year with Santa!
We all look forward to it.
Have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
Hi Carole, Here's wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a great new year. I hope you have a great time with your family. I thank you for all that I have learned from reading your blog. You're such an inspiration!
Carole - I hope you had a joyous holiday! Your picture certainly demonstrates the calm before the storm. My son keeps remembering the storm of 1996 you had in New York City. This one must have ranked right up there with that one.
Boy that sleigh must land pretty heavily on the roofs! LOL So sorry to hear about the people who didn't make it through the storm. Carole I hope you and your family had a great holiday and may 2010 bring you lots of business.
Merry Christmas Carole and happy new year!!
I think Santa finds the time because, like my wise old grandmother, he always finds time to do those things that he does first.
Holiday parades are fun for all ages, and especially small town ones. Glad to see Santa made time for your town! The cold is wreaking havoc across the country, stay warm!
I thank EVERYONE for the wonderful comments and replies and of course the very warm wishes. I hope you ALL had a very blessed Holiday and are enjoying the season still. Happy Holidays to all and I'm wishing everyone the very BEST the New Year has to offer!!
