Feng Shui in Riverhead, Long Island, New York---A Makeover by Feng Shui Long Island

One of my favorite things to get calls for in Feng Shui are for Renovations.  I love consulting on the Colors, Decorating, new furniture additions and the placement of it and I love to watch it as it comes "alive."  I have found myself out east on Long Island, New York lately (in Laurie Mindnich's neck of the woods:) and after consulting on this client's home, was called for her and her husband's new business, to be opening soon.

I had mentioned in a previous post about a client I have done recently and her business is called YOGA ROCKS and kept thinking what a wonderful tie in this is.  I also blogged recently about the homeowner with the spiral staircase in the "Heart" of the home and she would be interested in this place as well for her children.  It is called C.H.A.T.S. (Children's Health and Therapeutic Services) and is a new Pediatric Clinic that will be serving children from birth to 21 years old.  Their services include a state of the art facility (including ROCK climbing and a sensory gym), occupational and physical therapy and speech and language therapy.  A natural approach to healing, something Feng Shui is an extension of.

This is a transformation IN PROGRESS.  A beautiful older home located right on the Riverhead Traffic Circle, the renovations will be extensive. Color choices were important here, as well as anywhere, to provide stimulation for the children for a multi-disciplinary approach to healing.  While I have consulted on quite a few wellness centers, these last two centered around children and I love the fact that so many people are finally in tune with a more natural and less invasive way to help children.  This lovely place is using Feng Shui Principles in it's complete approach.

These are some of the "in progress" pictures and I will show the end results to you when they are done. But it gives you an idea of the beautiful colors and different areas to meet the needs of children.

I will be posting follow up pictures so you can see now, a work of art and later, a beautiful place with Feng Shui Principles for Children to Heal.

Carole,

With your help I know that the clinic will be successful in EVERY way!  I love the colors that you chose, and you even addressed that angled ceiling (see, I remembered!)!  I can't wait to see the finished 'product'...don't forget to post the pics!

Hi Carole, This looks like a very colorful place to hang out! The rock climbing wall is just what I need in my house to release stress and have fun at the same time!

Jo, because I worked in wholistic health I guess I love doing these type of renovations the most.  Clients see the relationship between energy in your body and energy in your surroundings and it "Clicks"!  I honestly believe the companies that call me truly want the best for not only themselves, but their clients.

Val, I honestly can't wait to see the "afters' either!  But it's going to be beautiful and work well for these children.  I'm not at all surprised you remembered the ceilings, I don't think you forgot anything :)

Loretta, thank you, I love what I do too and I meet the BEST people!  YOGA ROCKS was started by a client about three years ago.  It's for children and one of her particular interests is to get them to concentrate and focus so their lives will be as much as they can be.  As she's worked with children for so long now, she sees they're better able to concentrate in all areas of their lives which makes them learn things faster and then the healing can extend to other areas they may need help in, such as healing through P/T and O/T and the other methods they offer.in a place like C.H.A.T.S.  Doing these two clients so closely together was no accident, but then nothing ever is!

Lizette, I give you credit!  Your forgave your friends AND you can Rock climb  I'm not sure which one I'd have more difficulty in :)  Shouldn't friends tell you just about EVERYTHING that you should know??

Marci, my dear, where have you BEEN?  I haven't heard from you in ages.  Should I take that to be a GOOD sign?  Hope all is well and glad to see you're back!

Carole, I think they were having such a good time that they didn't want to spoil any part of the party. I still love them. They did confess later. Now the problem has been fixed. I wonder if that was creating a problem somewhere for me in the business world. I was having a problem client...last Wednesday went to closing. Whew! Now both problems are gone!

Carole this is wonderful and what a great task at hand. Do you travel very far to meet with clients. It seems that you and will be in the future, very well in demand. Continued success

Lizette, Thank GOODNESS the problem is solved---and I have to wonder if it happens to relate to your client that was giving you a difficult time....funny that you related the two, though so it just might be.

Deborah, Thank you, I love to do makeovers.  To have a hand in the visions we want to create and then see it come to life is wonderful!

Phyllis, Thank you, it's a wonderful thing to get called on, I love this project as much as the "Spalon."  Funny that you asked about traveling, I have been going much further then in the past.  But it's so pretty on the Island and (as you mentioned) I've been finding the most wonderful, unusual things this year:)

Carole, Can you do your work and incorporate Feng Shui and still keep some of the original qualities of a property? Combine the new and the old, as it were?
Posted by Dena Stevens ~ Associate Broker, Realtor,CSP, SFR (Colorado Western Real Estate) over 3 years ago
Dena, absolutely.  I love original things in a building, that is what makes the building unique and I love combining the different energies of the old and the new.  This home was older then it appears, the outside had been redone but the upstairs (of which I did not show pictures) was truly unique---especially with their use of closet space.  I hadn't seen anything like that before and it will certainly come in useful.  I heard from this client recently, although they have not yet opened they are doing well....more insurance companies are accepting them and things are moving along.  I can't wait to go back when it's done.  Thanks for your question.
