Feng Shui in Long Island NY -- Beautiful Port Washington New York
For those of you who have ever visited Long Island New York, I hope you got to stop and see the beautiful town of Port Washington in the Town of Hempstead NY.
Port Washington Long Island NY Settled 1644
As a New York Feng Shui Consultant I have had the privilege of doing Feng Shui Consultations in both Homes, Condos and Businesses in Pt. Washington. Yet when I think of this place, one Feng Shui consultation always comes back to me. I couldn't help my client as hard as I tried.
Quaint little shops in Pt. Washington Long Island
I arrived a few minutes early at "Linda's" lovely Long Island Condo. They appeared from the outside to be very well kept and had large windows which I knew would allow in a lot of natural light. I had very different expectations when I entered my client's Condo.
Lovely Long Island--Pt. Washington NY
The shades were drawn and every room of this lovely condo was stacked high with everything from clothes to old newspapers to empty boxes. I wondered what had gone so wrong in her life that this lovely, accomplished woman was living like this.

In talking to her, she told me she had brought her Floor Plans to another Feng Shui Consultant. Her Consultant looked at the floor plans, did some calculations and told "Linda" that she would never do well in her place. She was told to move. That had been about two years prior but she didn't have the resources.
The Old Ferry in Pt. Washington Long Island NY
These were devastating words and I was shocked to hear that someone would give a Feng Shui Client this type of information. Feng Shui Consultants live by Intention or what is commonly thought of "The Law of Attraction." There are NO circumstances we can't change and Feng Shui knows no boundaries.

"Linda" had given up. She no longer worked, cleaned or took care of her environment and unfortunately she will never know the strength of Good Feng Shui. The power of words can help, inspire or motivate. They can also ruin a life.

Hi Carole... I love your words and your approach to your business! Nobody should be made to feel hopeless by another person's words. I wish that you were closer by for a consultation.
Carole - You have a great bunch of photographs and information to go with them, thanks for the read & view!
VB ;o)
I guess she must have thought she was being 'honest' funny how people think that's always good thing - they don't think of how they say or couch there words to have a positive effect - how bizarre and sad that she would take something like that to heart from a total stranger!
Thanks for sharing this with us Carole. As always I will go to my atlas and look up exactly where on Long Island it is located. I would love to get out that way some day, for all your posts are so educational!!! My dad used to work in the Brooklyn Navy Yard(which I understand is no more) and the Charlestown Navy yard in Boston and I would like to visit where he worked back East some day.
It is too bad that the individual had not consulted with you first. How sad.
The power of words can help, inspire or motivate. They can also ruin a life. --- Hopefully, she will find her way ... it is amazing how words can sometimes do a lot of harm. It's good you pointed this out so others will be careful not to make this type of mistake.
I love Port Washington !
I went to the University of Bridgeport and we would take the ferry across the LI Sound to spend a day at Port Wash or one of the neighboring towns !
Hopefully your client will someday be able to take YOUR words to heart in the same way that she took the other persons words...unfortunate that the other person got to speak to her first! If she had heard from you first, her life could have been entirely different. As we both know, there are no coincidences, so maybe there is another lesson in this for her...
I Don't recall having been there, nice pictures. Carole, keep you long johns handy as it starts to get colder. Stay warm.
Colorful photos and interesting photos -- good job.
Steve, I am saddened that someone would tell someone that. Our "job" is to help create homes and businesses our clients can thrive in, not to discourage them. I am saddened by this still.
Robert, It was certainly a mix of photos and story but I wanted to show Port Washington, it IS a beautiful town.
Liz, Many clients are going through a difficult time and already feeling discouraged....it's one of the reasons they call. This information did her no good at all and in fact made it much worse.
Bruce, I work in Brooklyn on occasion but I believe the Navy Yard is long gone. Parts of Brooklyn are still lovely and some of my past posts include Coney Island.
Joan, She should not have been told that. If this person had learned a variety of methods of Feng Shui she would have been able to help and certainly not hurt.
Sheldon, It's a wonderful town, isn't it? While they weren't very friendly in the bakery shop, I did get some wonderful cupcakes :)
Cheryl, I don't know and she didn't take my calls later. I stayed for almost 5 hours and offered to help her clean up and get rid of some of those things at no charge but she was immobilized. So sad to see and whenever I'm in that lovely town I do think of her.
Debbie, I just ordered more! I don't care if they look funny, it's COLD out there evaluating and clearing the outside of homes and businesses :)
Bob & Carolyn, Thank you, it's a lovely Port Town we have here on Long Island.
Dear Carole,
Thanks for another great post. I loved the photos and the message! Keep them coming!
;)
Carole..My question to you ..Are going to be able to help her? I Hope so...or is she lost...
HELPFULHANNAH
While the town looks lovely, your story was a bit unsettling. It makes you wonder whether or not this would have happened anyway, and perhaps the other consultant could see it coming.... or am I just imagining it, having seen that little psychic shop?
Hi Carole, I have the same questionas Hanna W., will you help her? To live like that with stuff in boxes, mess, is no good. She needs a "sunshine"!
I am no longer amazed at hearing stories like the one you shared, for my eyes have seen, and ears heard about some unbelievable challenges people have had to face... some give up like the one here... others pull it together after awhile. Thanks for caring and thanks for sharing the sights.
Carole,
... words can help, inspire or motivate. They can also ruin a life.
I'm reminded of a little song we learned in Sunday School as a child: "O be careful, little mouth, what you say..."
Love the photos!

There are times when a little white lie, or several of them, are more prudent.
Carole thanks for the photo tour, tjere is still so many places in NY I have not seen.
hi Carole,
Words are so powerful....your post made me feel very sad. I hope that somehow she was able to turn her life aound and have her hope returned.
Beautiful photos!
