Habitat for Humanity -- Home Stagers -- Feng Shui on Long Island New York....Suffolk County
What does Habitat for Humanity and Home Stagers have in common? Here, on Long Island New York they are working together to help create a special home for a special family.
Habitat Suffolk New York has joined forces with the Central Long Island Chapter of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners to help create this new home in Bay Shore Long Island and the dedication is to be held on November 7th, 2009. Prior to the dedication ceremony, the Central Long Island Chapter of ASHSR will host an Open House event and invite members of The Long Island Board of Realtors, LIBOR, to see the vision come true.
Our very own Activerain original Rainmakers, Val Allocco of http://www.Staged2Sellny.com along with the entire Central Long Island Chapter of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners are helping to make this dream a reality for this family very much in need of a safe environment to live.
Working closely with Habitat Suffolk is Les Scheinfeld, Associate Director who invites you to visit the website for further information at http://www.habitatsuffolk.org
Val called me one day to describe the project and add a little Feng Shui to this home on Long Island New York. Laura Cerrano and I were excited at the prospect. We haven't worked on a non profit since 2006 and were feeling it was time to give back to the community. Opportunities present themselves when they are supposed to.
We also were recently advised that Maria of CORT FURNITURE worked tirelessly to help get furniture for this new home. They are donating almost ALL the new furniture needed and can't be thanked enough!
Still, time is quickly approaching and donations of Accessories are needed. If you or anyone you know would care to donate to this wonderful cause, please contact Val Allocco at (516) 982-2671 or Carmela Abella of Abella Home Staging at (631) 846-7724.
As this is a non profit 501C-3 project, all your donations are tax deductible.

Such a great organization...they do great work. I'm becoming more and more aware of the feng shui due to a client I have. We offered on a home and had a master come in....he nixed the house, but liked one down the street.
Carole, What an awesome project! So does it matter what direction the front door faces in Feng Shui?
I love the work that Habitat does - such a great worthy cause.
This was great that so many were involved with this project :o)
Well, I would guess that you'd be involved with the greater good of something and this was just a bit of who you are and what you do. :)
Hi Carole... It warms my heart when I see the work that Habitat for Humanity does. I am not surprised that you would be pitching in your services too! Way to go!
Wonderful Carole. Can't wait to see the final results. Habitat is a wonderful organization and one that teaches the recipient "how to fish rather than just handing the fish over to them".
I've worked on a couple Habitat homes, and there is nothing like that warm fuzzy feeling you get knowing you are truly helping someone! I bet you had a blast!
Carole,
Habitat for Humanity has helped so many deserving families. What I like is that the family has to participate in the project--that gives them a great sense of accomplishment and invests them in the home.
The Habitat for Humanity is a really great program. This has been a big help to families in my area who could use the assistance.
Carole--How fun to bring a little Feng Shui into someone's fresh start in their new home! It looks like a very special project.
Carole - this looks like a terrific home. Habitat is just one of the most wonderful organizations around. They deserve a lot of support. Great post.
Habitat is a wonderful organization and I am glad they are bringing a little Feng Shui into the project. This will be a wonderful home for a deserving family.
Habitat for Humanity is a great organization. You must be so proud to be working for such a great cause, Carole. They deserve all the support they can get. At the end of all this, there will be one extremely happy Family, finally in a home of their own.
Karen,Habitat is a wonderful organization and I'm thrilled to be helping out. I've found in Feng Shui that if a client LOVES a home or business, we can make it work for them.
Marchel,It does whether we are using a compass method or the Bagua Method. When we use the Bagua, the front door is how we determine the layout of the home and all the areas such as health, wealth, partnerships, children, career, family and helpful people. There are things to be done both inside and outside this lovely home.
Sheldon, Many, many people had a role in making this a reality. Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful cause.
Sally, Thank you. It's been far too long since we've done a non-profit and we were thrilled to be invited to work on this project.
Steve,It's a challenge and it's exciting to be involved. We truly hope to make this house a home.
Paddy, I can't wait either and you're so right; they choose very worthy recipients while providing a safe, affordable environment.
Kris, We have a way to go yet! We're still looking for accessories for this home to make it just lovely!
Cynthia, It's very true. They help dreams become realities, one family at a time.
Bill, Isn't it wonderful that they are all over and doing such wonderful work everywhere? It's such a wonderful organization.
Teri, It is a very special project and we are ALL excited. So many were involved with this it was impossible to name them all!
Mike, They do deserve a lot of support for all the good they do. We're hopeful more people will "come on board" and donate some accessories.
Joan, I too am glad they're adding Feng Shui to help ensure that this family truly becomes successful and loves their environment.
Sylvie, I'm sure they will be estatic to finally have a home they can call their own. The families are all very deserving.
I love Habitat for Humanity! That is so cool that you got to work with them! That is a fantastic home and the new owners are going to be thrilled beyond words.
Carole, nice house! You will, no doubt, make it even nicer with a little Feng Shui.
You, my friend, are just way too cool!
Such a great thing you did working with Habitat for Humanity.
Well done Carole!
Hi Carole,

Hi Carole, This sounds like such a wonderful way to give back to the community! And getting to work w/ another fellow AR such as Val should be rewarding too! I know this can be hard work so be sure to take of yourself too :)
Hi Carole,
This is a great project to be involved with. Many homes have been built in our area with different civic groups taking part in helping build many of the homes. You are a great person!
Carole - "The Mouth of Chi". . .I had never heard that term before. Everytime I come to your blog, I learn something new and wonderful!
Carole
Habitat for Humanity doe so much good for people.
Leesa, It IS very cool that Laura and I are involved on this project! I haven't worked on a Habitat Home before and it's so interesting just how many people contribute to this!
Maria, I hope so....and wonder how many homes Habitat has done that have had Feng Shui...
Craig, I can't take the credit, the wonderful Home Stagers invited me to join them. That's forward thinking and a great kindness.
Jo, I hope so. Once we finally get the accessories we can really get to work!
Hannah, We haven't worked on a non profit in several years....It came our way at a nice time right now and a special family to have a new home for Thanksgiving.
Cynthia, Val and I have worked together before but on a much smaller scale. This is one big project and it's a challange but we love it.
Bruce, It was so nice to be invited and I'm happy to help. We ALL can't wait to see the "finished product."
Myrl, We believe the entrance is very important. And yes, it's called The Mouth of Chi :)
Tom, They do amazing things....what a terrific organization!
Carole- That is such a wonderful thing to do. Habitat for Humanity have certainly made the quality of life better for so many.
Glad to hear the staging association is participating in this project.
