The Pathways of Feng Shui in Oyster Bay Long Island NY
As a Feng Shui Consultant in New York, I am often faced with the different pathways in life I can choose. We ALL make these decisions; some are difficult paths to choose but I wonder: If we only choose the easy paths to follow, are we really challenging ourselves?

There is a unique part of Long Island New York called Oyster Bay. I am in different parts of Oyster Bay quite often, whether it's for a Feng Shui Consultation or just to enjoy the beauty of what was once known as The Gold Coast of Long Island. On this particular day I was in the Planting Fields Arboretum and wandered down paths I wouldn't normally have followed.

Today, this New York Feng Shui Consultant thought about PATHS we choose in life. To not step out of our usual paths would keep us stuck yet to venture out into the unknown if frightening for some.

Take the challenge. Take a different road if the one you're on isn't working for you. Although change can be frightening, it can also lead you to the light....or enlightenment.

That can be a pretty nice place to be. And if you visit Long Island NY, be sure to see The Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay where you can choose any of these beautiful "roads." You might even run into this Long Island Feng Shui Consultant!

Such a great blog Carole. what a message you've shared with us all here in the Rain.
The Planting fields is such a great place to go to just escape everything for a few hours.
Coe Hall is really quite nice and the grounds are just drop dead gorgeous.
The photos you took, as good as they are (especially that last one), just don't even scratch the surface of how beautiful The Planting Fields are.
Wow absolutely phenominal pics Carole . . .and I agree . . .I took the challenge to become a Realtor and I am so glad I did or I never would have met all the wonderful people of AR!!
Truly amazing photos accompanying a very well put together blog Carole !
That last picture is absolutely stunning !
Bravo !
Carole, we have one road in my town of Flower Mound, TX that has these overhang trees along it and your post and photos from Oyster Bay reminded me of it. Sally Dunbar in her post about the moon landing talked about the JFK speech about going to the moon not because it was easy but because it was "hard." I think in our goal pathways in particular we need to set the bar high. It sure feels good when you go down that pathway and accomplish something great. Thanks for the photos Carole, and so much of Long Island is so beautiful.
What a beautiful place full of lush green 'tunnels' :)
Carole, that first photo is mesmerizing. I like the analogy of the path and making life changes.
Carole, What a beautiful place. One of my best friends grew up in a town next to Oyster Bay. I'm with Maria and love your analogy.
Carole--What a great way to showcase this beautiful place...Love the pathway shots. You are a very good photographer. Great eye and story to go with it!
Carole,
Loved the post and the fact that you are right up top with Google results for "Feng Shui Oyster Bay."
Carole, those photos rock and are so well integrated into your message.
Hi Carole,
Looks like a very intriguing place to visit....what beautiful photos!
I love your analogy. It reminded me of 'The Road Not Taken...', that poem by Robert Frost
Jo
Good Morning Carole-Absolutely gorgeous photos. Looks like it would be a beautiful gorgeous place to visit in person. Have a great weekend. :-)
Carole - if I ever get to the area I will certainly make the Arboretum one of my must visits. A bit Robert Frostish post, reminds me of The Road Not Taken!
Wow and what a gorgeous path it is Carol! This place look so peaceful.
Carole, Love the post - many people choose the path of least resistance. But, in doing so, they never press themselves to learn more about themselves or to face any challenges.
Craig, It's such a beautiful place, isn't it? I'm there often, the flowers are always changing!
Tami, The place is so beautiful, it's hard to take a bad photo there : )
Sheldon, Thank you, that's a nice compliment. Some day I might even learn photoshop!
Gary, I love those trees that meet. And I love the choices we have...ones where we can see straight down and know where we'll end up and the others that are far more difficult--and sometimes lead to a brighter light then any of the others.
Sally, It's a truly beautiful place for just nature. We have lost so many parks, I'm always thankful for this one.
Maria, We have our choices to make, that's for sure. And sometimes my clients just feel stuck--they need to just choose a path to get moving.
Marchel, Long Island still has it's beauty. Less of it for sure, but a lot remains.
Teri, I am either in luck with my photos or some I can't use :) My new computer has photoshop when it comes and I plan on actually learning it :)
Irene, I haven't checked although I've done posts about Oyster Bay before....I'll have to go look myself.
Missy, Thank you...it's so nice being in that place and there are always different paths to choose.
Jo, You would LOVE this place; it is always changing as all the flowers are blooming at different times. It does remind me of the poem and many of us have travelled a Road Less Taken.
Pat, It is gorgeous. If you ever come out to Long Island, it's a must stop on your stay here!
Mike, That's what Jo said. I guess because I always took a different path then most people would have traveled. You would love this place--and Jones Beach :)
Bill, It is peaceful. You can wander for hours around there and the time just goes so fast.
Sandy, You are so right. Some end up very unhappy by never changing their path and taking risks. I believe they're good for us.
Wow, Irene, you're right...I'm right up there! Thanks for letting me know.
Good message, but Ooooooohhhhh every picture got better than the previous! All the way to the end, where I just wanted to crawl into the picture! In my childhood I used to go to a park that had one of these twiggy/viney covered walkways and I have always loved them!
I love the evocative photos you posted, Carole! Thanks for sharing these views. Maybe I'll see you on one of those paths someday!
Cheers,
Robin
