A Feng Shui Long Island Consultant at the US OPEN Bethpage NY 2009
While preparing for a Feng Shui Consultation in Smithtown Long Island NY on Friday I watched in surprise as Laura Cerrano grabbed the camera and went running out the door. She didn’t say a word and I wondered where she could be headed.
We sometimes speak about being in the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time. We almost never speak about the FEELINGS to suddenly do something that wasn’t planned or even thought of—and following those feelings. Intuition, it’s priceless!

The US OPEN at The Bethpage Golf Course is scheduled to open tomorrow. A word about this Gold course is that it is so LARGE, part of it is in Farmingdale Long Island while the majority is in Bethpage and still some of it runs into another Long Island town called Plainview. In a word, it’s BIG!

AND Challenging. The Bethpage Gold Course contains something called THE BLACK COURSE. A scary place even for the BEST Golfers in the World.

Laura later told me something told her to go…it’s a good thing, too : ) Arriving near the course, she found the main road leading there closed. She decided to park and walk the rest of the way. She waited outside the first hole for a little while and was just about to leave when she saw a crowd of people headed HER way. She knew something was up.

Although there was a recent Tiger “sighting” right here on Long Island, he was nowhere to be seen on Friday. Still, some others came out to try the Gold Course including Michael Jorden, “Big” Ben Roethlisberger and Justin Timberlake.

It was an eventful morning in Farmingdale and Laura managed to copy some wonderful shots of the celebrities practicing their golf for the BIG EVENT.

If you are coming to Long Island for this incredible event, I will soon post a list of MY favorite places to eat and MANY more photos! Unfortunately, there is not much left in Farmingdale (who had a GOLF store that closed just a few short months ago as well as D’Angelos, one of the BEST places to eat around and now the Country Bakery is also gone after only two months in business; that had been our first bakery in YEARS : (
But I hope you enjoyed the shots of Michael Jorden, Big Ben and Justin Timberlake in Farmingdale Long Island for the US OPEN 2009—captured by a Feng Shui Consultant with a feeling. **For more photos coming soon, please subscribe.

Carole - Laura captured some great shots! It pays to be at the right place at the right time! :)
What a great call to follow her intuition! I did recently and it proved to be right.
Carole--I love this post. I wish I could get my hubby away from the TV so he could read your post. I think he is watch golf, but it will be easier to just tell him about the 'Tiger sighting'.
This morning I saw a turkey under my bird feeders, but it flew away as I grabbed the camera.
Carole--There is always something exciting happening in your area isn't there? We live near a golf course where the Senior PGA tour is played. You cannot get near the course without identification showing that you live there during the tour! Lucky shots for Laura! :)
Carole ~ This is incredible. What great "shots".. golf and photowise. It is going to be a busy time in and I hope you get some more incredible photos. We will look forward to seeing more in the coming days.
Intuition is an amazing thing, isn't it? I don't think I have EVER been steered wrong by following it, and have regretted NOT following it a time of two! GREAT shots, what fun!
hi Carole,
I love the new look of your blog!!
The photos Laura took are great....it looks like she was able to get up quite close. Excellent work!
The two of you have so many adventures together... ((-;
Jo

HelpfulHannah your friend in Philadelphia
Love the photos! Proof postive that womens intuition does indeed exist :-)
I love that she listened when the feeling called her. The shots are great. There are times in life that we forget to listen or we ignore our feelings. Then we can miss out or worse get ourselves in deep doo doo if you know what I mean. Good for Laura.
Carole,
My brother would have been in heaven---his two heroes--Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. He met Michael J. at a basketball camp at UNC Chapel Hill when Michael was a college freshman and yet to become famous.
That's pretty exciting, Carole, I'm glad she followed her instincts!
Donna, I wish I had been with her...she said the crowd went wild :)
Kim, I was wondering where she disappeared to! And worried we would be late but it all worked out fine.
Mary, Too bad, I would have liked to see the turkey. The only time we get to see them here is around Thanksgiving--when they're not moving! Everyone is excited around here, it's such a big event.
Teri, During the US Open here in 2002, it was a mess....we had to have identification and too many streets were closed off so we couldn't get around! This one is going better, at least as far as the residents around here.
Joan, We can't get near there, now, you can't even walk there and stand outside :( The security is very tight and you can't see anything outside.
Cheryl, I keep telling her she needs to follow it all the time, I'm glad to see she is!
Jo, I wasn't there....I wish I had gone but was getting ready. The blog was an "accident"! I wondered how it looked to others but I'm not used to it so big :)
Hannah, Luck it was, we were so excited when she got home and we really looked at the photos.
Kris, It DOES....we always knew that though, right? Even if we didn't always follow it ..
Paddy, I've ignored it on more then one occasion and was always sorry I did....I try to listen to it very carefully now, it's there for a reason.
Cynthia, Oh, he would have loved it! How nice that he had the opportunity to meet him, famous or not!
Chris, So was I! I just wish I had been there, I would have loved to see it, too.
Hi Carole-Those pics are really cool. I am glad she was able to get these. That must of been pretty exciting for her. <SMILE>
Wonderful photos taken by your friend who is quiet enough inside to be able to hear the still, small voice!
Carole,
It never pays to leave the camera home! Cool photos by your friend.

Wow sounds like some event. As usual you have done a terrific job with your photography.
Sharon, I was excited too when she got home. It's always fun to get something unusual...on film :)
Mara, She heard it all right...and went with it. She's glad she did and I am too, it's exciting to have the Open so close!
Mike, On the days I've left it home, I've always come across something I would have shot. I try to remember to take it everywhere now.
Bill, It really is fun to be living so close....I believe I'm going to park in town tomorrow and see how far they will allow me to go on foot. I think they have the roads closed, even to pedestrians now :(
Pretty cool. I wanted to go to the U.S. Open last year here in San Diego, but I didn't want to go by myself, and a certain other person in this household didn't want to go. Next time................
The Black course at Bethpage is world renowne.
I used to ride my bike from Bethpage Park to the beach and when the US Open was taking place, I would stop on by to catch some "star" sightings.
I just love your posts. They always bring back memories of my old stomping grounds.
