FAME? From a Feng Shui New York Consultant? Feng Shui in NY

A Feng Shui New York Consultant---and Some FAME?

As a Feng Shui Consultant based in New York, I don't have a need to be "famous."  I consider myself at times sort of a pioneer in just getting the word out ABOUT FENG SHUI

Since my August, 2007 flood in my house, there has been constant work here.  Although I can't do a thing about the basement, I put my energies into the upstairs and am down to the last roomAs Feng Shui Consultants we always suggest to our clients to have Space Clearings or Blessings prior to a renovation---the Energy is stirred up so quickly and we want to prevent any temporary "chaos" from all that Energy.

This Feng Shui Consultant's home has seen it's share of blessings.  The last room to be addressed in my home happened to fall in my FAME area (which is exactly opposite your CAREER) in the Bagua.  The suggested Color?  Of course, it's RED....to intentionally "GET YOUR NAME OUT TO THE UNIVERSE"  which is a very big Feng Shui Principle.

While I toyed around with the idea of a Red Wall....I thought "why not?"  Finding the color I wanted to use was another story....but I did.  Yesterday, my FAME went RED.  Today, I got four calls for Feng Shui Consultations.

PLEASE don't tell me it's a coincidence.  If you've read my blogs for any amount of time, you know I don't believe in coincidences OR "Accidents."  Go look at YOUR Fame area.  Do you have anything with the color of  RED?  If not (and aside from all the endless Marketing you do in one form or another on the Internet), put something RED there.

It worked for me---and I can't WAIT until it gets a second coat : )

Feng Shui Consultants know to highlight your FAME area with Red.  Now YOU know.  Goodness, even ‘IClipArt' knows : )

Carole, congratulations.  That is sooooo great.  Not just that you're down to the last room, of course, but that you got 4 calls.  Hard work always pays off. :)

Now, if only I could figure out where the 'fame' part of my house is.

Carole, this is an interesting one I need to ponder. Red? Is there a different color like beige for infamous? I would be so in trouble not following all the rules if you did an evaluation with me. I am still trying to use the front door which I hardly ever do, and you said it was so important. I hope I am not doomed.

Hi Carole-Where is the fame part of your home? Red HUH! How much red needs to be in the fame part of your home. I can't paint the walls. But I could do other things. Great informational post. <SMILE>

Carole, my fame area does have red in it! Congratulations on reaching the last leg of your renovation.

The home stretch.... What will you do with all that extra time not spent on decorating your own home Carole?  I hope the red wall brings many more calls.  Bask in the glow of a job well done and enjoy your FAME.

Allright Carole and am not going with this one:) I hate red as a color in homes...it does nothing for me at all. Good to hear you are doing well though:)

Hi Carole,

That's wonderful news! I hope you'll share some pictures once it's completed.
Now to figure out where my fame area is.....

I love red in dining rooms, and kitchens. I have a deep red/burgandy in my great room. Where did you put your fame, which room? I have a client who has a lovely brick home. The door is white, not appealing. Any suggestions?

I LOVE RED! It makes a statement.

Wow what a statement for red.  I need to take a look around my home office and the office office and figure out where to put some red!  Will have to put more red on my real estate web site too!  Thanks for the information.

Can't Find your FAME?  If you can't find it, how will others? Look to the back CENTER of your home (or  business) from the Front Door.   Here's the Bagua I use:

Bagua Map

Sylvie, Your FAME is the back Center of your home.  And I still have to re-decorate :)

Gary, I can see you trying to use the Front Door (and muttering under your breath at me :)  It IS important---or OPEN it.

Hannah, Flowers will do!  It's your INTENTION to get your name out there!

Sharon, There's your Fame, at the back Center of your home.  Put up as much red as you can or a picture that incorporates a lot of Red.

Maria, I'm so glad!  Mine never had much until it was painted :)

Paddy, I still have to decorate!  I'm done with painting....and the floors and the concrete.  I've got lots of re-decorating to do still (but that's at least FUN !

Bill, Orange?   Something in the Red family?  (I won't even suggest pink then :)

Jo, Nothing has been re-hung yet and I'm getting all new window treatments.  I promise if I ever finish, I'll post it!

Missy, Two Feng Shui Colors for the front door are Black (to enhance Career) or Red....to bring in Energy.  I had a client that painted her front door black and it actually looked nice--I was surprised.  My fame is a mudroom that leads out to the backyard :)

Kathy, I posted it again.  Print it (or learn it :) and I know you're undergoing so much work on your own home!

Teri, It needs another coat but I actually love the way it looks and am glad I chose it.

Oh, Craig, I'm far from famous---but I did get work :)  Yes, to put Red in YOUR fame area and to keep posting those wonderful pictures :)

Rosa, It does make a statement....AND will help with your fame, too!

Kim, A home office is so important.  Look at ALL the elements and remember to have a balance of all of them:  Fire, Wood, Water, Earth and Metal.  You can use artwork, throw pillows, silk flowers...any number of things.

Hi Carole:  It's been a while and I've missed your posts.  Funny, but I've been wanting something red in my house for a while now.  I have a large mirror at the back center of my home and now I'm convinced to have the wood frame painted in red.  Can't wait to do it.  Glad to hear you are almost done with your renovations.

Hi Carole!  I LOVE red--my favorite color--especially in the kitchen!  You are so talented and your clients are so fortunate to have you advising them!

Have a great Sunday...

Hi Carole! My back door is in that area. Maybe I will get a pot of some blooming red flowers for that area.

Carole - red is MY color.  I love red cars, red clothes, red flowers... you name it!  And, as fate would have it, there are some red accents in my Fame area.  I guess I lucked out!  :)  You are a wealth of knowledge ... and you never fail to cause my brain to absorb!

Posted by Carol Smith (Casmi Photography) about 1 year ago

Hi Donna!  I think you'll love it...and it will certainly highlight your FAME.  I love my room, it actually looks pretty with an impact wall.

Sharon, Good, I hope you'll add it and see what happens....

Debe, I'm glad, I have so many clients who don't like red or just don't think to use it.  It's pure FIRE energy and great to have in your surroundings.

Lizette, It's such a nice time to add colors with flowers....we have a little time here but can start soon and you can bet I'll be using lots of RED :)

Carol, You too must be a FIRE person....full of energy and fun!  I happen to love the color as well, it just makes me feel good :)

Carole,
I am going to download and print the Bagua of that's ok with you.  I want to share it with some people.  :-)

Cynthia, That's a wonderful idea.  You'll always have it on hand and always know how to find the areas you are looking to enhance.

That certainly explains a lot about my last two years of busines. I planted a ton of red geraniums and crowns of thorns at my back door.

I'm thinking that the whole "intuitive" thing is right...my fame area has a red accent wall...

Posted by Re:Fresh Re:Design, I have an eye for your style! (Cheryl Marantino) about 1 year ago

Good Move, Russel :)  Instinct I guess but isn't it wonderful?

Cheryl, There is definitely "Intuitive" Feng Shui---I've seen it in client's homes that don't know the principles and even they are surprised when I point them all out!
