SOUTHSIDE Fish & Clam Restaurant Lindenhurst Long Island New York

As a Feng Shui Consultant on Long Island and New York, I have done many restaurants over the years that needed a little help with Feng Shui.  Whether it was attracting new customers, checking colors, placement of cash registers or the many different Feng Shui methods we use just for restaurants, I can honestly say this one didn't need my help.

It would be hard to miss Southside!

Southside is one of my favorite restaurants on Long Island-with some of the best and freshest seafood you can find anywhere.  It is never a disappointment to eat here and since it's opening in 1932, it is one of the last Long Island original restaurants that have survived the test of time.

If you love seafood, you've come to the right place.  It has been highly rated in Zagat's  Zagat Long Island  and AOL City Guide  Long Island, NY City Guide | Search Local Businesses, Events ...and is located in the lovely town of Lindenhurst Long Island. 

The "heart" of this restaurant is it's wonderful, open cooking area where you can choose to watch your dinner and others being cooked to perfection or you can just sit and wait for your number to be called.

It's not "fancy" and it's not pretentious...it's just great food and plenty of it.  And all at a price you can afford.  Southside also carries some of the freshest and largest selection of seafood you can ever imagine if you'd like to take it home and try your own skills at recreating some of their fabulous meals.

A little tacky?  Maybe.  Once you taste the food you won't mind a bit.  A note here:  Southside in Lindenhurst Long Island does not take reservations.  It can be a long but welcome wait on the weekends.  You might well find yourself sitting with strangers at their long tables....but what ARE strangers, anyway?  Only friends we haven't met yet!

Honestly, I don't like to criticize.  I have on occasion been wandering around through the MLS for Long Island-MLSLI-- for a while now and I honestly don't understand it.

We ARE in a depressed market right now.  We DO need to pull out all the stops in getting a home sold.  Some Realtors do, they do a fabulous job of marketing your home.  If you happened to miss Sally's blog, just LOOK what she does for her clients:  The First 24 Hours- Crucial Internet Strategy for Listings

They go out of their way to learn the newest technology to showcase a home for their clients.  The hire Home Stagers or Feng Shui Consultants to Re-Design or to rent furniture and accessories to show a vacant off to it's full potential.  Often, these homes are SELLING.

On Long Island New York on the MLSLI  IF a home has a picture (too often I will see "Picture not Available and wonder WHY),  I have to wonder what some people are thinking in posting pictures like these. Do they WANT to sell a home?

I have often thought we've needed an MLS POLICE.  People who go through the MLS and ask for retakes---PLEASE.  And, finally, we have one!

I have long been very fond of our own local Long Island Newspaper, Newsday.  http://www.Newsday.com  So proud, in fact, I've written about them several times.  An inside look at NEWSDAY, Long Island's Newspaper since 1940   or my OWN personal favorite about a Feng Shui Makeover by yours truly:  Photos   Second Link for the Before and After shots and the article:  Newsday - L.I. Makeover Article I am happy to say that for the last few weeks and hopefully it will continue,Newsday has spotlighted pictures from the MLSLI.

With a nice little saying, always the same, accompanying each of them:  "Retake this picture, Please."  I don't know whether or not they do but I'm willing to bet those that don't want to be "showcased" this way in Newsday will be a bit more careful in taking photos of homes for sale.

Feng Shui in Long Island-A feng Shui Consultant's Dream

On a recent Feng Shui Consultation on Long Island, I arrived at my client's home early.  As I waited outside I began to reflect on what a journey it was to get to where I am today.

It was a difficult period in my life; going through a divorce with small children and finding myself having to work six days a week-and feeling a pull SO STRONG to join this Feng Shui Study Class that I kept hearing about.  The very first class in the United States that was licensed and accredited in Feng Shui Studies right on Long Island New York.

My job wouldn't allow me the time.  Which would mean finding a new one---in less then a month's time.  Then there was the money issue-I didn't have it.  My ever encouraging mother gave me half and I wondered who I could possibly borrow the other half from.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.  I swallowed any possible pride and asked my soon-to-be ex-husband for the money.  I can still see him when he broke out in laughter and said "You think you're going to even SURVIVE doing that?" 

Reluctantly (and probably out of guilt), he gave me the money.  I found another job who WOULD allow me the time off and flexible hours during the time I was in school.  I was amazed that at the very last day I had to submit the rest of the money for the course and sign up, I'd done it!

Many of us have a fascination with homes.  Certainly realtors do-it's something that's not able to be explained.  I've spoken to so many Home Stagers and many of them say the SAME thing:  They have ALWAYS loved decorating and re-decorating.  Seeing other people's homes and imagining it a different way-the way THEY see it.

Bitter cold -- now if our brave friend could find some WATER--that's ice.

It must be a love we've grown up with and never knew exactly WHY.  It doesn't matter.....

I know this one thing:  If you LOVE what you're doing, if you put your heart and soul into it, you WILL succeed.  No matter what the odds or how difficult it seems at times.  Follow your dreams and they will come true; I've seen it over and over again.

I guess we're all going to fall at times.........
