The Feng Shui of a New York City Apartment  

Applying Feng Shui to Apartments in New York City at times can be challenging.  This apartment from a Feng Shui Client was located in Midtown Manhattan NY and the new owner was just moving in.

New York City has apartments that come in all sizes and shapes.  We often find what we think of as "missing pieces" of the Bagua (which we can correct) or apartments that may seem a bit off balance.  

This apartment was lovely but it had a long sweep of energy from the front to the back by the long hallway.  In Feng Shui, you should feel "graced" into your space and not feel the energy moving so rapidly to the other end.

Some suggestions for this Feng Shui Client would be the use of Crystals which help to slow down and diffuse Energy.  Certainly Artwork on the walls which would deflect the eye from the sweep would be beneficial as well as color choices if they should decide to paint.

Lighting in this space can also be directional.  Bringing in these objects and filling this NYC apartment with things the clients love will help to deflect any issues-and because they were just moving in, starting off fresh with a Space Clearing to rid it of any Predecessor Energy is a wonderful Feng Shui way to ensure many happy, healthy and prosperous years here.

Just a little bit of New York City Feng Shui for Your Office

If I could only give you once piece of advice in Feng Shui truly help your business for the coming year, I wondered how many people would take me up on it.  Would they make Feng Shui part of their Business Plan for the coming year? 

I thought they would.  I thought they would incorporate just a little bit of Feng Shui Advice from a New York Feng Shui Consultant.  Then I came upon this featured post:

Try Not to be Too Neat by Gabe Sanders  AND the comments it generated.  Oh dear....some people find comfort in their clutter.  I knew I could write all I wanted and not succeed.  There was hope, however, when I came upon this post:

Do Everyone a Favor, and Tidy Up!  Robin Taylor Roth.  Although written for a different reason then Feng Shui, it seemed some people DO like organization in their home.  This little bit of Feng Shui Advice for the  New Year is for you.  Try it.

According to Chinese Astrology, this New Year we are soon welcoming in is apt to be quite a challenge for many (sorry, I didn't write it!).  In Feng Shui, ANYTHING  we can do to help us avoid these pitfalls and curve balls we get sent should be utilized.

A well appointed Feng Shui Office Desk--Omni Martial Arts, Astoria, Queens NY

One thing you can do before the New Year arrives from a Feng Shui Perspective is to CLEAN YOUR DESK.  If you have a home-office or just a desk at home where you do Anything to help generate money, CLEAN IT.  Here's one place where it DOES pay (quite literally) to have a clean, well organized area.  If you have to clean your desk in segments, that's fine but here's the Feng Shui Theory:

When we clean (or move things around), we do so with INTENTION.   As much as you may dislike this particular task, keep thinking of the MONEY you will generate by doing it.  Why would CLEANING GENERATE COLD, HARD CASH?  It's simple...we are allowing room for new things to come into our lives and one thing we ALL want to bring in is Money.  Particularly when a difficult year for many is predicted.

The Center of your Desk relates to Health in  Feng Shui.  Take the papers away from this area EVERY evening when you are done for the night.  Not only does it allow room for new business to come in, but it helps to protect your health to handle all that new business. 

This Desk in a Home Office in NYC needs some Feng Shui.

Think carefully about what's UNDER your desk.  Energy RISES.  This is NOT the place for Garbage or a Shredder (think of the Energy of a Shredder rising up to where you are trying to generate income). 

With all the wonderful organizations tools I see now, I don't need to tell you HOW to organize.  And I'm sure most of you can wipe down your desk and monitor on your own.  If you'd like to Bagua your desk look at the Back Right Hand Corner---Your RELATIONSHIP area according to Feng Shui in your office..  Put a small pair of items there and mindfully think of cementing your relationships and partnerships-Business as well as Personal.

Want to address Wealth Again?  Go to the back Left Hand area of your desk.  A small (live) plant (with rounded leaves), or something moving to "move the money IN" works well here.  REMEMBER:   When you use a moving object and the changes you want to occur begin to happen, Move it again---or the new changes will  move right back out!

Feng Shui for your Office where you generate WEALTH is so important.  Remember this last Feng Shui Tip to use for your Office or Home Office:

With everything thing you move or clean, do it with Mindful Intent on what you want to create.  We have just passed the Winter Solstice, the BEST time for planting seeds!  If you take only one Feng Shui Tip for the Long Island NY Feng Shui Consultant, clean your desk!  And think of money.............and a Prosperous 2010!

 Be CAREFUL What you Wish For........  

Recently opened in Farmingdale, Long Island New York:  Krispy Crème!  Until just a year or so ago we only had Dunkin Donuts here on Long Island and one day we heard Krispy Crème was finally opening in just one area of the Island.

The lines were long....they were a hit and have been opening branches in different locations now.  This one, however, caused some speculation that is may just be possible that Jenny Craig wasn't doing all that well---and decided to purchase their own franchise of a Krispy Kreme.  What a benefit to BOTH businesses!  Who knows?  Certainly the location of our latest Krispy Kreme is a little suspect.......

It's a tough economy....Anything is possible  : ) !

The ART of Feng Shui in New York City NYC 

Everywhere I look in New York City (NYC), I manage to see some evidence of Feng Shui.  If I'm wandering through Central Park, I am surrounded by Nature.  If I'm walking the streets of New York City, I am always surrounded by the Energy of all the people bustling about.

Even in the Subway System in New York City, you will find Elements of Feng Shui through the wonderful Artwork that so many others pass by and don't really SEE.  It's Feng Shui Art and is addressing the Elements of Feng Shui with all the Colors it employs.

Without fail, every year Santa pays a visit to our little Long Island New York Community of Farmingdale NY.  I don't know how he finds the time, honestly....

But come he does.  Blogging for ActiveRain has taught this Feng Shui consultant to keep my camera nearby at ALL times to capture those moments that pass in the blink of an eye.

This was the calm before what is being called the Blizzard of '09.  Many of us will remember this one for a VERY long time with record amounts of snowfall and people stranded everywhere.  We lost three Long Islander's to the cold--one homeless person and two elderly people who were just outside their doors.  I hope everyone is safe in the coming months.

The SECRET - The Law of Attraction - FENG SHUI....by a Long Island Feng Shui Consultant

As a Feng Shui Consultant on Lovely Long Island New York, I often ask my clients if they have seen or read "The Secret."  I am surprised many are still not aware of it although for many people, when they saw it, it struck a nerve.  And propelled them to look at life a different way.

The principles of The Secret are the Principles of Feng Shui.  We use the word "Intention" instead of Law of Attraction but it is basically the same thing.  When we change our thoughts and our actions, we change our lives. 

Feng Shui is perhaps more involved then this but we are taught in Feng Shui that if we can't change our client's outlook we may not have the results we are seeking to achieve.  It's not an easy process and can take time for some people to change their thoughts before they are spoken or otherwise "sent out there" into the Universe.

What is not difficult to understand is that we are working with ENERGY.  If you can remember one simple thing it may help you turn those "maybes" into "whens."  WHEN I get the new job instead of IF I get the new job.  When you want something, CLAIM IT as if you already own it.

Here's something that you need to remember.  Repeat it, focus on it, do whatever you have to do until it really sinks in:

It's so simple!  In Feng Shui we also believe we are particularly sensitive to our surroundings---fill them with things that you LOVE.  Keep it simple....people don't like to struggle through a space, neither does Energy.  Look at your LIFE.  Get Clarity in exactly what you are seeking and then FOCUS on it.  And be patient.

While many of you are thinking of the upcoming holidays, this Long Island Feng Shui Consultant is thinking about the Chinese New Year.  Every year I put up a post on what you should do...and I add some new things each year.  I will be putting up one this year as well but I am also going to address the ONE THING YOU MUST DO for this Chinese New Year to help ensure success.

Is There a Ghost in the House?  Feng Shui on Long Island - New York

About one in five of our Feng Shui calls for Feng Shui Consultations from Long Island or New York City come from someone concerned about Spirit Activity.  Laura Cerrano is my daughter and has been doing on site Feng Shui Consultations with me and without me since 2000.  Since formally beginning her own Feng Shui business http://www.FengShuiManhattan.com on both Long Island and New York City, we don't often get to practice together as much.

Yet there is no denying that about one in five calls or emails we receive regarding a Feng Shui Consultation both on Long Island AND New York City are from potential clients concerning "ghosts."  Spirit or Paranormal Activity.  We've both been in homes where noises occur, lights flicker, there are "cold spots" and on rare occasions we have actually seen SOMETHING.  Since we are both highly attuned to Energy, these are the Feng Shui Consultations we like to work on together.

One question we are often asked is if "Ghosts" or "Spirits" can attach; meaning can they follow them if they move or even if it's possible for us, as Feng Shui Practitioners to bring them into OUR Spaces.  According to both Parapsychologists and Feng Shui Consultants, the answer is yes, it IS possible that a Spirit can attach to you.

While training in Feng Shui Studies on Long Island, New York City or Sedona AZ (for a shamanistic approach to Feng Shui) we are specifically taught methods both before and after a Feng Shui Consultation so this doesn't happen to us.  While some of these methods take a while to perform, they are important for both our clients AND ourselves.

A recent email was from a client who was determined to move but afraid of bringing this activity WITH her-the very thing she was moving to get away FROM.  She wanted to know if we would be able to help her to move into a new space safely.  And ALONE. 

Laura and I both worked with her together and I'm thrilled to say she made her transition into her new home where she feels nothing but good and supportive Energy. Thoughts from a New York Feng Shui Consultant:  The 3 "LUCKS" of Feng Shui

Feng Shui on Long Island.  Feng Shui in New York City.....Feng Shui ANYWHERE.  For well over a decade Feng Shui has been my passion, my beliefs and my "work."  Feng Shui Consultants can work wonders for clients and sometimes they can overstep their boundaries. 

In a recent ‘Members Only' post I discussed a Google Alert I had come across from another Feng Shui Consultant making remarks about the conviction of Amanda Knox from her Flying Star Chart in Feng Shui.  Our own         Dena Stevens was kind enough to ask the following question:

 How much control DO Feng Shui Consultants (or their clients) have over a situation?  According to the teachings of Feng Shui, we have quite a bit of Control over what occurs in our lives.  They are referred to as The Three LUCKS of Feng Shui.

HEAVEN LUCK are the stars we were born under.  It is Astrology whether you choose to practice Western or Chinese Methods.  We don't have control over this portion in our lives, it is predestined for us.  This is the Feng Shui Flying Stars; an important part of Feng Shui but there are other factors involved as well.

EARTH LUCK is Feng Shui.  It is the "Luck" that we create in our Surroundings and Environments and we DO have control over this.  It takes into account creating an environment that is Peaceful and Harmonious to assist us through the difficult periods of our Heaven Luck. 

MANKIND LUCK is the way you choose to live your lives.  It's not lost on me that the question comes from Dena whose saying happens to be "Do the Right Thing." This is a powerful aspect of Feng Shui.  We have absolute control over the way we choose to live our lives.

We think carefully of our actions, words, thoughts and Intentions; we believe in The Law of Attraction and try to stay focused on the Blessings we have in our lives.  We change our outlook on life and we begin to change our lives.  Visualizing and using Positive Affirmations can help us change our thinking and our attitude. 

It's SO nice to know we DO have control over our lives.  Knowledge is POWER and we can change our own ‘Luck' around whether you are using Feng Shui in Long Island,  New York or any other place on the globe.

Every season in New York City is special and unique.  The winter holds it's charms with Ice Skating, Fall is spectacular for the beautiful Autumn Colors, Spring makes you look ahead and see only Sunshine in your future.  Summer in Central Park for me is the BEST time. 

Long, LONG walks where you can choose the usual paths or ones not travelled very often. No matter what time of year you go, Love is always in the Air. 

I loved this photo.  It was taken just outside the famous Boathouse Restaurant in New York City....a destination in itself.  It reminds me somehow of another era.....

Is it Feng Shui in New York City?  Or Love?  Maybe just a bit of both.

Feng Shui Consultants in New York City:  Central Park New York

Feng Shui Consultants are always taught and reminded to connect with Nature.  As a Feng Shui Consultant on Long Island, you will often find me in New York City as well.  Many times after a Feng Shui Consultation in NYC, I will head to Central Park.

It was one of those end of the summer, beautiful warm days.  I'd just finished a Feng Shui Consultation for a Business uptown and decided I wanted to walk through at least part of Central Park.  Soon the leaves would be changing and there would be a chill in the air.  Not on this day!

I walked...and walked and passed some lovely sights along the way.  These are a few of the things I saw on that beautiful day in Central Park.  There are SO many pictures and since many people enjoy seeing New York City, they will be in a following blog post.

Reflections...on the wonderful last year and the new one that is to come.

Look at all the different paths we can choose.  It's always up to us.......

There really IS solitude in Central Park!  And some all natural Feng Shui.  In the Form School of Feng Shui, the Mountain at your back for strength and water in front of you to bring in New Energy.
