Skylights are great options to allow natural light into any space. Yet, it is also important to be mindful of what happens to the energy when you have a large skylight within your home or business.
The image above is of a Chinese Restaurant in Hicksville New York. By the front entrance it has a very large and height ceiling skylight. Observing the photo, you will see they strategically placed a large sun screen and four lanterns between the skylight and ground level. This keeps the front door's energy from escaping in an upward direction. The skylight is a direct link to the outside and if not contained, the energy by the front door could 'sweep' away. This means the energy (clients) come in quickly and move out just as fast.
They visually and energetically lowered the level of the skylight's presence by adding these two adjustments into their space. A constant stream of business indicates this positive enhancement. When you have high ceilings or a large skylight, you want to bring your visual awareness to mid-level so your eyes are not straining in an upward direction. Keep this in mind, where your eyes look is where energy flows.
